I have a theater that has a side curtain that closes with an appliancelinc. I am trying to find a way to program the lights to go off when I shut the curtain and turn on when I open the curtain. The problem is as you all know you have to set it to off before you can turn it back on. Has anyone come up with a program that would work? I am not smart enough to do it.

Will the 8 button insteon timer not work with a fantech inline bathroom exhaust fan?

Will the 8 button insteon timer not work with a fan to turn it on for the alotted time on the button?

Crapola There are a couple things that insteon needs to make but they don't. I guess I may have to just use the 8 button timer from insteon and run it in parallel with the speed control that company sells.

Would a switchlinc work the same as the slider dimmer or speed control as they call it? All the slider dimmer does it reduce the wattage or power to the device correct? Is that not what the switchlinc does? Then to put it on a timer use the 8 button in parallel with the switchlinc? I may need to contact them and see what they think?

I am putting a fantech inline fan in my bathroom. I am wanting to use an insteon switch of some sort to control the time on but also be able to control it somewhat with the isy. I also want to control the fan speed. They tell me that the fan speed can be controlled and am wondering what someone would use from insteon for that? Sometimes I would just like it to run for an extended period of time but at a low level because this fan has so much suction on high I have had to hold on to something so I did not get sucked out of the room I want to tone it down a little sometimes. What is the law about incandescent lights going to be? I don't use CFL because of the dirty energy they produce. LED are just too expensive. I only use incandescent because I have all my lights set at 70% and like to have dimming capabilities.

That sucks. I guess I just assumed that they could dim. I need to look at description again because I don't find anywhere that says it does not dim. That kind of defeats my purpose for having them. I am stuck with 2 devices that don't work for me now.

Does the outletlinc not work as a dimmer? I thought that I would be able to use it as a dimmer like the lamplincs would? I put it in a scene with a KPL and it only turns on and off. Did I miss something? Please help.

I have just installed the venstar 1800 and have a question and a little problem. When I go into the isy and set it the mode I set it for program/heat right now. My problem is that after a day or so it goes into the off mode and I have to go in and start it again. What could be causing this. I have the fan set to run to circulate air for 10 minutes from 10-10 every day. Could that be it. I don't have it programmed in the isy to do anything yet, just in the thermostat itself. Is there some other setting that I may have done that is causing this? Thanks.

I may try it but what if the program that I used is running without any problems. It stays off during the day now. It turns on when it is supposed to. I don't know but it works right now.

I may be overlooking it, but I see five programs, labeled programs 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. I see no program labeled "A2.BackYard Lights on 3 Minutes" or 'A1.BackYard Motion Sensed'. I see no device in your program called "back door light" What are the folder conditions? My bad, I meant back porch light. Conditions?

My two switches are in a scene. Nothing else. My back porch light, and garage light are the two lights that are controlled.

Go back up and look at the folder that I previously stated. I edited with more info about program #s. Is that what you mean????

BackYard Motion Sensed If From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) And Control 'MS Garage' is switched On And Control 'MS House' is switched On And Status 'Back Porch Light' is not On And Status 'Garage Light' is not On And Program 'A2.BackYard Lights on 3 Minutes' is False Then Run Program 'A2.BackYard Lights on 3 Minutes' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') A2.BackYard Lights on 3 Minutes If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set Scene 'BackYard Lighting' On Wait 3 minutes Set Scene 'BackYard Lighting' Off Run Program 'A2.BackYard Lights on 3 Minutes' (Else Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Turns backyard lights on for 3 minutes. Well, I have just been re doing the programming in the isy for the 2 ms in my back yard. The 2 sensors run the same two lights. The programming of this is kicking my behind. I had it working, (I thought) but for some reason it started turning on in the day and I have not been able to get it fixed. Everyone on here has given me advice but it has been a little bit here and a little there that I am just getting confused. I am not a wizard at this like the rest of you on here. I do a program and then maybe don't do another one for 6 months or so. I kind of forget things sometimes. If someone would just give me a program in full that would work for the 2 ms for the 2 lights that I have in a scene together I would be forever in your debt. I want them to turn on only in the night and have it shut off after about 3-5 minutes. I think I have it that the ms are what controls the off time so I don't think I need something there unless everyone feels that is needed. That is all I need this to do. I have a ms in the front and have it programmed with no problems. It is the 2 ms that is beating me to death. The one in front is put into a folder that was done over a year ago and it still works great. I am not sure if that maybe putting this into a folder would work better or not. The problem is I have to figure out how a folder works again. Rand helped me out with it so I would have to try to figure it out. If someone would please be so kind as to help I would thank you greatly.
