I had to replace an 8 button insteon keypad. It has been many years since I have had to program it or any of my insteon stuff with my isy994i. Well, because of that time my memory fails me on how to do something to get a button to work right. All the buttons but one made the switch fine. The one button just doesn't do what it used to do. I have the top left button which is the main button for our main light in the bedroom. I have it set at 70% on and it works just great. The button to the right of that one is a button that I had it set to full 100% on but it doesn't want to turn on. I'm sure there is a setting that I need to set properly but I'm not sure what to do. The other 6 buttons do what they are supposed to do but this one just won't work. Can anyone show me the proper way? Thanks.

That worked. Now, how do I get it to launch directly like I had it before? I'll keep looking. I like it in my taskbar to just click on and go.

Is there something special I need to do? Or is it just manually? It has been so long since I have updated, I've forgotten.

But it says in order to update to some of those I had to have these other ones installed first. Am I reading that wrong?

That sounds great. I may try this for the guy I'm putting the setup in for. I have not worked with the hub but I always like to try new things. If I don't like it, I'll just send it back and get an isy.

It sounds like if your hub does go down, you won't lose any info or settings. Is that what I am seeing from this link?

I want to get it setup and make it as easy as possible in case someone else has to ever work on it. The isy994 is not always that easy. We want to incorporate it with Alexa for him to make controlling lights something that he can control easily. We are not going to do any complex settings and keep it simple yet make it controllable without his hands.

I am going to be putting in a light system for a friend of mine that is a quadriplegic. I have an isy994 but have never worked with a hub. I am wondering if anyone has worked with hub and if so how hard is it compared to the isy994? I am really looking at doing the hub because it is a much cheaper option.

A friend of mine had an electrician come in and he said that LED lights cause insteon switches to wear out faster. Is that true? Or is he full of it? Are insteon switches fully compatible with LED?

I love using the isy portal with alexa and insteon. I do have a question on what I might do to solve the issue with a couple of my KPL buttons not lighting up on the switch when I use Alexa. Here is the scenario. I have an insteon plug in that is controlled with a button on a KPL. When I set it up in isy portal it would not work if I used the KPL choice but only with the plug in choice. Now when I use Alexa to turn any of these on, the button does not light up. I can live with this no problem, but I just wanted to know if I was doing something wrong.

I have an Insteon setup and an isy. I also control my lighting with the isy, plus Alexa. Are there any door locks out there that will work with this scenario?

It is very easy. I ordered the isy portal, and I had it all done within an hour. It is so cool. I surprised my wife with it and she even thinks it is cool. Thanks guys for the help and suggestions.

I don't have a hub.

I already have an isy994i but am wondering if it is easier to integrate insteon with an echo using the hub than the isy and the isy portal? Can anyone comment on this? Thanks.

Is there a place I can go that find tutorials on what I will have to purchase in order to get both Agave and Echo?

What would I need to purchase from the isy Universal Devices????
