  1. Anyone modify this to work with new Alexa routines to announce the water sensor leaks let me know. Jeff
  2. I have a very loaded ISY/Insteon system installed. There are three things I want the Smarthome hub for 1. Alexa- Read above it is coming soon. In a beta soon? 2. Home Kit- was told there are no plans. I just want to be able to control my ISY from other apps. Like the Phillips Hue app could turn on the Hue lights and also control lights on insteon. And can't say much but Apple is working on a smarthome app to control untying that is Home Kit. Smarthome has already added it. 3. One of my main thing is full camera support for apple watch. Camera support is hard to find and not crazy about the way it is implemented in some of the ISY iPhone apps like MobiLinq. The ones I do like require you to run a server on a mac or pc to relay the stuff. But its all built into the Smarthome Hub. I picked one at 35% off or something like that on Black Friday. I was going to hook it up just for camera support. Any issues with that idea? Jeff
  3. I had some initial issues with my ISY-99i. Rand worked with me over a weekend and we got it working. Then shortly afterwards it stopped again. Since Rand is on Central Time Zone, Michel helped out. I was in a hurry because I was leaving town so Michel said he would rebuild it all from scratch. He basically worked almost all night (All night for me on EST). When he was done it worked fine and all I had to do is re-enter some programs that had to be deleted. This is beyond expectations. They offered many times to take the product back no questions asked but with support like this I knew that I was in good hands so I declined to return it. Thanks again guys, Jeff
  4. In a program if you try to set a keypadlinc button on or off it gives you choices to set the backlight. I like my LED brightness at 1 when off so I have them all set to 15 on and 1 off. If I want to set on can I assume I set to 15/1 and off as 0/1? I tried putting into scenes which you can then turn on or off but I have too many scenes and trying to cut back. Jeff
  5. I am away and forgot my laptop power adapter for my MacBookPro. I borrowed a PC and did a quick change on the ISY. I noticed the progress bar stayed up. On the mac it randomly disappears and you have to go to event viewer. I borrowed a mac and tried the same task and it disappeared right away (1/2 way through the progress bar). As a newbee to all of this I thought stuff was done and started new tasks. Now I know to look at the event viewer to make sure it is finished. (and after UD had to assist in a rebuild of my ISY). Any way we can get this fixed with mac? Jeff
  6. Not home now but this morning I had to click ok ok a dozen times I had a couple after that For the record even with the release 2.8.16 version I dis get one a day or so I have about 10 access points as well as dual band devices. Also probably 25 filters so everything from washing machine to stereo to fridge is filtered Jeff
  7. It may be related to other bug they said was just fixed but anyone else have a lot of device communication errors. I got like 10 in a row. I can fix two ways. One is to click on device with error and turn on and off. This takes a while with a lot of errors. The other is quit java app and open it again then it's fine. Jeff.
  8. Sunrise. Should have run at about 7:26. Ran at 6:26. Was it that sunrise time was not updated? Jeff
  9. Here are my findings last night 1. The programs ran at regular time. 2. I left the isy logged in but it was frozen. Quit the java app. Logged out and logged back in and time was correct but when I look at program summary they did run 1 hour too early. 3. Can you add a way to put daylight savings into your programs. Like send an email when clocks change or something like that? Jeff
  10. Michel, I am also getting the Java exceptions errors. Sometimes I leave the JAVA app running on mac and come back to see the error. Most of the time I have to reboot the ISY because logging out and logging back in after the error I get not found. I would say 1-2 times a day but only a couple times a week do I need a reboot. Jeff
  11. so then the manual is wrong? I guess they need to fix that. Jeff
  12. In 2.8.16 there is another bug (reported one with night mode already which was fixed in earlier beta) with the 2420m. In the manual it says On only mode: when checked only On commands are sent. When unchecked an Off command is sent when the Timeout value expires. In the Options it says On Only Mode: On/Off commands (Checked) On Commands Only (unchecked) Which one is it since they are opposite?? Jeff
  13. tried Lee@email but cant reach you. Can you give me a way to contact you? Rand has my cell phone number. Jeff
  14. Lee, This is a loaded post. If you want me to call you I will. See if you can address all the issues. Think your correct. One of my lights that has the least links I did a restore device and it worked perfectly after that. The others are still a problem. Am I correct that what happened is the links in the PLM got lost? The data in the ISY is still ok, therefore my latest backup is still ok? I want to make sure I dont have to go back to older backup. In addition, I have a Smartlinc. I wish you supported it also but you dont and I understand why, but I use it for the nice web interface. I have it linked to an ipad that is wall mounted and it has an easy interface for guests. It looks like this process does not touch the smartlinc, correct? Since you cant backup the smartllinc I dont want to choose to restore until I am sure it wont break the smartlinc lincs. The smartlinc is listed in my ISY but I just cant use the ISY to configure it. I am worried a total modem restore might wipe the smartlinc. If so I can do it device by device unless you have a better way. Now that we know the problem is the PLM. This is the second time it got wiped due to power isssues here. Is there no way to put this on some sort of battery backup that wont kill its functions? Jeff
  15. I am at a loss. I swear this worked differently before but I am having so many problems maybe since the release candidate a week ago. Anyways, when I use the ISY to control stuff I am fine but if I actually use the insteon switch, the status in the ISY does not update until I do a query of the system. I have one set every night and it takes a few minutes with all my devices. I dont know what to do. My programs are not working because some say something like if light is on then do this. Well if I turn light on from ISY it works fine. Turn it on from switch and nothing happens because the device status in the ISY is still off. I unplugged ISY and PLM multiple times. What can I do? Jeff
  16. Actually they are all appliancelincs and icon relays but although they are off they are reporting on. Once I unplug them they are off and report off until the next power issue. Jeff
  17. I have a 2413s. So plug the ISY power adapter into a UPS but the 2413s cant go into a UPS, right? Also yesterday morning a lot of things did not turn off that should have. All I did was unplug each device and plug them back in. Instantly after plugging back in the device turned off (normally it would have remembered the status in the memory). My theory again is that the low voltage we get when the power switches some of them freeze up as does the PLM (we are between two power stations and if one has problems there is an auto-switch to the other. This causes a brief low voltage. Some devices like large TV's might turn off and others might keep playing like a blu-ray.) Unplugging the device unfroze it and it went to the state it was told to be in but too frozen to fix. This is going to be a strange issue I probably just have to deal with. Once I unplug the "frozen" devices they work fine after that until the next power issue which only happens in high wind or ice storms.
  18. It is not set to run at startup. The power went out hours before. I hace had this happen once before when the power goes out for a second and then the unit acts strange. Some devices would respond and some would not. Rebooting worked. This time I think the script was running correctly. It it errors it is set to run again in a minute. This loop continues until it has success. Normally a second run is never needed. Sometimes something does not turn on and it has to run a secOnd time but never before has it had to run 100 times. I could not log into ISY. So I think the lights that were off were not responding at all. Thus it errored. It kept erroring until I rebooted the unit. Then I was able to log in and turn on one of the lights. So then I ran the script and it got success first try. I think we get very light power drops. Some devices stay on and others reboot. I think this is freezing the ISY. This has happened before and I was home. Last time I could log in but a lot of commands would not work. So I rebooted and they all worked. Assuming it is the power can I put the ISY on ups but plug powerlinc into wall. Jeff
  19. Today I was out.  My ISY went into a script that turns on some lights and then sends me a success or error email.  I got hundreds of emails saying error  I tried to log in and could not.  I got home and 1/2 lights were not on.  I noticed clocks were blinking which means power went out.  We did have high winds.  So I unplugged ISY AND POWERLINC because I kept getting emails.  Once I did that the emails stopped and within a minute or two i could log in.  Then I was able to turn on lights manually through ISY. Any idea what happened or do you agree it was the power outage.  Any way to stop this by something like a UPS? Jeff Sent from my iPhone
  20. Michel, I think you are on the right track. As I said I am out of town and have been unable to do the SSL backup since I got here. We are staying with a bunch of family in a house. Everyone left today and I was the only one here. So I did a SSL backup and it worked. So should we go ahead and test or should we assume the issue was slow internet to begin with was way too slow with 10 other devices on at the samr time. Jeff
  21. Was this meant for me since I was having the SSL errors during backup? jcanter, thanks so very much for going through the process. If possible, would you please try changing your https port to something else. I think the problem is that your router is somehow interfering with port 443. Anyways we use OS X Server and it is on 443 so I cant use port 443 since it is already in use. Instead I am using 8043 which is mapped through. It works correctly for everything but backup. Even the iphone apps connect via SSL fine. Jeff
  22. Per your suggestion on a bad SSL certificate causing my errors I did the following. Maybe this will help figure it out. I am away on vacation but I think this actually helped the tests. 1. From away did another https backup- same error 2. From away did a http backup- no error 3. Remote screen shared into our OS X Server. Opened the java app and did both a Http and a https backup with no errors (from internal network). 4. Created a new self signed 1024 SSL certificate and installed. ISY rebooted. 5. Requested a 1024 SSL certificate from the CA but I guess I have to wait for that. 6. Deleted all JAVA cache and certificates and updated firmware to 2.8.15 (also via remote desktop on internal network). Because I had a mac I have to do this via https. I did another backup as part of the process and both the backup and the upgrade worked. 7. Deleted all Java Cache and certificates again using the new JAVA app. 8. Ran another http and https backup from internal network and it worked/ 9. Ran a http backup from external IP and it worked. 10. Ran a https backup from external ip and got an error. Different one this time Socket Open Failed javax.net.ssl.SSLException:Server selected improper ciphersuite SSL_NULL_WITH_NULL_NULL
  23. As per previous message I am still on 2.8.14. i backed up the other night and got an error message. I just backed up twice again and got the same message. Any idea what this means.... Socket Open Failed java.net.ssl.SSLException: server 'finished' message doesn't verify This started with 2.8.14 but something else could have happened to cause it so not 100% sure its a bug. Jeff
  24. Is it safe to update from remote? I am on vacation and my ISY is on 2.8.14 and running fine. I am worried if I update it that something may go wrong and I am not there to fix it. So should I just wait a week until I am home? Jeff
  25. I agree. More updates shows the developer is supporting their product. I am very pleased on response time. When I first got my ISY, I called Tech Support with some issues. A nice guy named Rand called me back. We worked on the issue and he even called me over the weekend to make sure I was happy with my device. Jeff
