  1. It is not set to run at startup. The power went out hours before. I hace had this happen once before when the power goes out for a second and then the unit acts strange. Some devices would respond and some would not. Rebooting worked. This time I think the script was running correctly. It it errors it is set to run again in a minute. This loop continues until it has success. Normally a second run is never needed. Sometimes something does not turn on and it has to run a secOnd time but never before has it had to run 100 times. I could not log into ISY. So I think the lights that were off were not responding at all. Thus it errored. It kept erroring until I rebooted the unit. Then I was able to log in and turn on one of the lights. So then I ran the script and it got success first try. I think we get very light power drops. Some devices stay on and others reboot. I think this is freezing the ISY. This has happened before and I was home. Last time I could log in but a lot of commands would not work. So I rebooted and they all worked. Assuming it is the power can I put the ISY on ups but plug powerlinc into wall. Jeff
  2. Today I was out.  My ISY went into a script that turns on some lights and then sends me a success or error email.  I got hundreds of emails saying error  I tried to log in and could not.  I got home and 1/2 lights were not on.  I noticed clocks were blinking which means power went out.  We did have high winds.  So I unplugged ISY AND POWERLINC because I kept getting emails.  Once I did that the emails stopped and within a minute or two i could log in.  Then I was able to turn on lights manually through ISY. Any idea what happened or do you agree it was the power outage.  Any way to stop this by something like a UPS? Jeff Sent from my iPhone
  3. Michel, I think you are on the right track. As I said I am out of town and have been unable to do the SSL backup since I got here. We are staying with a bunch of family in a house. Everyone left today and I was the only one here. So I did a SSL backup and it worked. So should we go ahead and test or should we assume the issue was slow internet to begin with was way too slow with 10 other devices on at the samr time. Jeff
  4. Was this meant for me since I was having the SSL errors during backup? jcanter, thanks so very much for going through the process. If possible, would you please try changing your https port to something else. I think the problem is that your router is somehow interfering with port 443. Anyways we use OS X Server and it is on 443 so I cant use port 443 since it is already in use. Instead I am using 8043 which is mapped through. It works correctly for everything but backup. Even the iphone apps connect via SSL fine. Jeff
  5. Per your suggestion on a bad SSL certificate causing my errors I did the following. Maybe this will help figure it out. I am away on vacation but I think this actually helped the tests. 1. From away did another https backup- same error 2. From away did a http backup- no error 3. Remote screen shared into our OS X Server. Opened the java app and did both a Http and a https backup with no errors (from internal network). 4. Created a new self signed 1024 SSL certificate and installed. ISY rebooted. 5. Requested a 1024 SSL certificate from the CA but I guess I have to wait for that. 6. Deleted all JAVA cache and certificates and updated firmware to 2.8.15 (also via remote desktop on internal network). Because I had a mac I have to do this via https. I did another backup as part of the process and both the backup and the upgrade worked. 7. Deleted all Java Cache and certificates again using the new JAVA app. 8. Ran another http and https backup from internal network and it worked/ 9. Ran a http backup from external IP and it worked. 10. Ran a https backup from external ip and got an error. Different one this time Socket Open Failed javax.net.ssl.SSLException:Server selected improper ciphersuite SSL_NULL_WITH_NULL_NULL
  6. As per previous message I am still on 2.8.14. i backed up the other night and got an error message. I just backed up twice again and got the same message. Any idea what this means.... Socket Open Failed java.net.ssl.SSLException: server 'finished' message doesn't verify This started with 2.8.14 but something else could have happened to cause it so not 100% sure its a bug. Jeff
  7. Is it safe to update from remote? I am on vacation and my ISY is on 2.8.14 and running fine. I am worried if I update it that something may go wrong and I am not there to fix it. So should I just wait a week until I am home? Jeff
  8. I agree. More updates shows the developer is supporting their product. I am very pleased on response time. When I first got my ISY, I called Tech Support with some issues. A nice guy named Rand called me back. We worked on the issue and he even called me over the weekend to make sure I was happy with my device. Jeff
  9. Michael, just saw your post and I just left to head out of town. I can do a scene test but I can't verify the status so I am not there So for now I have to wait until the 20th to do this. Other then a firmware update which I assume you can do from remote, I don't want to Mess with it now since if it freezes I can't reboot it. Can you put the ISY on an appliancelinc to allow for remote rebooting? And I agree it is probably the query. It is very strange though when I turn a scene off that has keypadlinc buttons, I can watch the buttons come on but not The lights. But on 2.8.14 about a second later the button light turns back off and then back on. The second time the real light usually comes on too. So it works but not pretty....lol. Jeff
  10. Last night the problem came back (and once it happens it would happen until I reboot the ISY) that they ISY would report incorrect status on keypadlincs and some other devices.. A query would change it back. I was told to upgrade to 2.8.14. I did and the problem is solved BUT its annoying how it is done. I have a scene that has a keypadlinc in it. (many of them but this is one example) I run the scene and all the devices turn on including the keypadlinc. The keypadlinc button is really not on though (not glowing or anything but ISY says on). Under 2.8.13 I would have to reboot system. Under 2.8.14 a second later after I hit the on and it said on (incorrectly) it said system busy with a progress bar. Then the device turned off in status. Then in a few moments the progress bar starts again. Then it turns on for real and status is correct. I bet what is happening is when you turn it on, if it sees one of the devices it does a query immediately of that device. That changes the status back. Then it changes it again and do another query. It keeps going until it is correct. This is ANNOYING because of the progress bars that tie me up but I am about to go on a ski trip and at least this gives me a piece of mind that I can trust the status. Jeff
  11. It is in the first message of this post f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.14/admin.jnlp - Java application I use OS X. We are a mac support company (www.midatlanticconsulting.com). We can always help with Mac Specific issues. Make sure you clear the cache before the upgrade and after the upgrade. How I recommend to do this is 1. quit all browsers 2. Run JAVA Preferences in /Applications/Utilities Click on the Security tab and delete anything that says Universal Devices. 3. Open up your user folder/Library/caches/Java folder. Inside that there is another cache folder. Delete its contents. 4. Choose the option in the applet (link above) to manually update the firmware. Its in the last menu to the right at the bottom I think. **Note- you MUST be logged in using HTTPS on a mac for this to work or you will get an error. 5. Run the backup 6. Choose the new firmware file you downloaded and upload 7. Repeat steps 1-3 while the unit reboots. 8. Wait a couple minutes and login. (Verify your firmware was installed) Thanks, Jeff
  12. I really wish the icons in the Java Applet matched all units like a Lamp Module would show a light bulb maybe in a rectangle and a regular dimmer switch would just be a light bulb. An icon for applicance modules and relay switches, etc. I want at a glance to see what type of devices are on and off. MacJeff
  13. Also I have a 6 button remotelinc. I did the option to rename all 6 buttons with a suffix. Name was Basement Remote Button- 1, 2, 3, etc. Each time it asked me for the suffix, it took over 30 seconds before it asked for the next button. I swear yesterday I added one before the upgrade and it was type 1,2,3,4,5,6 really quick and THEN it updated them all. Was this a change?
  14. This is kind of strange but I am adding scenes today and I swear yesterday they added very fast. Today after the 2.8.12 update when I click new scene and title it, i get the system busy bar which takes at least 30 seconds to create the empty scene. Is that correct? I really think it was seconds yesterday.
  15. Your welcome Michel. This may or may not be a bug but I have a couple of controlincs I just setup. They work fine but if I use a switch to control a device linked to the controlinc the status of the control linc does not change. It wont let you add it as a responder and if you add another device with it as a controller in the same scene it wont even change the status. I even tried a program with no luck. Only way seems to be to hit the button or ignore the status of the actual button. Jeff
  16. I just got the unit so I dont know if the bug existed in previous versions but if you link to a motion sensor 2420M and go to the settings, the checkbox for On Only Mode is incorrect. The manual is correct in that checked means only ON commands but the checkbox says checked is ON/OFF. Since it is ON only mode it is logical that checked would be ON ONLY. So I think its just a matter of reversing the text there. Will keep testing 2.8.12. MacJeff
