yes I have the 994 Pro with Z-Wave. I looked and it was FEB when I installed this. I have backups from just about every day and some more than one in a day. but going back that far would mean recreating a lot. I would have to manually backup the contents of all the emails. I can export programs.. But variable data, etc. So much would be lost. Thats why I do so many backups!!! I may end up having to install this node server in a different node slot and just leaving the old one unused. once I get rid of it in polisy it will allow me to reinstall it and polisy sees the other version as UNMANAGED
-
I tried that. Nodeservers menu Configure Go to node number and choose it Click DELETE Delete this configuration pops up Answer yes SOCKET TIMEOUT ERROR All other nodes working. All other nodes will delete just fine. Just the one at 19 in the ISY I restore everything again and started the delete out of Polisy. Real quick a message pops up something about over 200 out of reach. I will try and get it again so I can capture but its a lot of work to bring that back. I need a way to get into the ISY to delete that node and have a feeling UDI might have to screenshare in and do it.

I have had a node server in polisy installed for weeks. I had some issues with it and have to delete it. I went into Polisy and stopped the node server. I then hit delete and normally it would delete from the ISY. This time it deleted from polisy but stayed in the ISY. I can delete the nodes from the ISY but if I try to delete the actual node server I get SOCKET TIMEOUT ERROR Yes I can add it to another node slot but dont want to waste my slots. I restored both my ISY backup and the Polisy Backup both current and then tried to delete again from the Polisy the way I have done this a dozen times with other node servers and it wont work. I cant go back to a backup before this existed because it has been months. Suggestions?

that worked. I had to replace DRIVER with the actual filed ID which in this case is something like GV5. Thanks, Jeff

I installed the TimeData server. If gives you data like Day of the Week and Season. So lets say I want an email every day that says its DAY OF THE WEEK and its SEASON. How can I get the data into email? The only way I see is assign season and day of the week to variables but they are numbers. So season would be 1-4 for spring summer winter fall and day of the week would be 1-7. So I can write a bunch of programs I guess to figure out which email to send but is there not a better way to dump that info into an email? could i format this so it gets the data?? ${sys.node.#.name} If so could you send me info on how to configure it for example here are some Node server address- n014_timedata Name of data field for example- Month or Season thanks, Jeff

I use MacOS X and running Mono 6. So far no issues on my end with v 6.4. I would be glad to test if you are interested in a tester on MacOS X. Jeff

Sometimes the version change is hardware. However it could be an internal software thing. One negative on Insteon though is it’s not firmware upgradable. The average life on devices is about 7 years. Mine are dying constantly since I have had my main network 7 years now. soooo. No way to know what the difference is and I am sure it would be hard to get an answer from them. You do have a 30 day return on them so you could try for a newer version. I hope it fixes the battery port issue I mentioned in previous posts. I have about 9 sensors and about every 2-3 weeks one of them has no signal and I have to adjust the battery port. On average probably each sensor reports every 6 months since its not the same one over and over every 2-3 weeks.

The original leak sensor program still works for me. there is a flaw in the leak sensors themselves. The battery connector over a few months gets pushed in and the battery stops responding. the leak sensor program will send you an error 9 which is no response from sensor. 9 out of ten times the issue is the Battery connector. Gently pull them forward so the battery fits tight. Usually then I push and hold the set button until I get the blinking light. If that works sensor is ready to go. If not replace the battery. But again most of the time it’s not the battery. .

Problem saving a Motion-Sensor triggered Alexa Routine
macjeff replied to gviliunas's topic in Amazon Echo
I have the same issue. Was working until my iOS app updated. Just contacted Amazon and created a ticket. Its ONLY with routines that contain motion sensors which are all from the ISY. So not sure if its a portal issue or issue on their end. They said they had 1 other report but not sure if that person used ISY. -
I use these with the ISY and they work great. I did have the same issue and realized there is a step towards the end of the instructions that says to make a certain program to run at startup. It has been a year but no issues since I fixed that with lots of power outages. Now one important thing- Having lots of problems with random issues where they stop communicating (the same problem but NOT due to power outage). I have found that over time the battery pushes on the connector inside and eventually loses contact. The solution is to pull it out a little on the plus side. Dont pull it off but just pull out a little on the connector so the battery is tighter in there. And a testimonial, which I already gave to UDI to post but I use NodeLink with my Honeywell Alarm system and Alexa. I had a REAL water pipe burst under the Kitchen sink. The sensor was tripped. I got the leak email and text but also set it up so Alexa announced throughout the house and turned off the water. I also had it trigger my alarm system and an automatic valve to shut off the water. It basically saved me thousands of dollars of damage.

Changing subject a little but the posted leak sensor program works. Do it the way suggested. You can add to it like I did. Here is what happened. The other day we had a leak under kitchen sink. A pipe burst. I added three things to the program. First, I added Alexa integration so Alexa announces warning there is a leak. Then I used NodeLink to link to Honeywell Alarm panel. So the leak caused our house alarm went off and it shut off water off to the house. Then it emailed the plumber with form email I made authorizing an emergency plumber visit. We were home so after hearing Alexa, we went to faucet and manually cut off water Yes the water in the house was stopped but all the water in the lines was coming out We did have some damage in ceiling below but otherwise everything is fine and saved major damage Jeff

Ok. Will try. Thanks everyone.

So I have 12 sensors. So I could have a state variable where 0 is all ok and assign 1-12 to it for the bad sensor. So let’s say kitchen sink is number 5 it would assign 5 to the variable and that would trigger Alexa routine for kitchen sink. Then reset variable to zero. Correct? Jeff

First I have been in hospital with pneumonia so I can’t easily test this stuff but very anxious. I understand the way to use a variable but I also see you can expose any device to Alexa So why not just expose each motion sensor and if that is activated say something. Or on a different case you could have motion sensor at front door and if activated say welcome home. I know this is a little off subject but am I understanding this correctly. I see in current programs using a variable might be the better way but for a simple phrase based on activation of something wouldn’t not using a variable easier? and please before you attack me if this is a stupid question remember I am on lots of hospital drugs. LOL i have had he ISY for years and love it. I hit the max links on the PLM so a very large system. So pretty familiar with this. Thanjs to everyone and especially to the guys at UD for coming up with this Jeff

Anyone modify this to work with new Alexa routines to announce the water sensor leaks let me know. Jeff

I have a very loaded ISY/Insteon system installed. There are three things I want the Smarthome hub for 1. Alexa- Read above it is coming soon. In a beta soon? 2. Home Kit- was told there are no plans. I just want to be able to control my ISY from other apps. Like the Phillips Hue app could turn on the Hue lights and also control lights on insteon. And can't say much but Apple is working on a smarthome app to control untying that is Home Kit. Smarthome has already added it. 3. One of my main thing is full camera support for apple watch. Camera support is hard to find and not crazy about the way it is implemented in some of the ISY iPhone apps like MobiLinq. The ones I do like require you to run a server on a mac or pc to relay the stuff. But its all built into the Smarthome Hub. I picked one at 35% off or something like that on Black Friday. I was going to hook it up just for camera support. Any issues with that idea? Jeff

I had some initial issues with my ISY-99i. Rand worked with me over a weekend and we got it working. Then shortly afterwards it stopped again. Since Rand is on Central Time Zone, Michel helped out. I was in a hurry because I was leaving town so Michel said he would rebuild it all from scratch. He basically worked almost all night (All night for me on EST). When he was done it worked fine and all I had to do is re-enter some programs that had to be deleted. This is beyond expectations. They offered many times to take the product back no questions asked but with support like this I knew that I was in good hands so I declined to return it. Thanks again guys, Jeff

In a program if you try to set a keypadlinc button on or off it gives you choices to set the backlight. I like my LED brightness at 1 when off so I have them all set to 15 on and 1 off. If I want to set on can I assume I set to 15/1 and off as 0/1? I tried putting into scenes which you can then turn on or off but I have too many scenes and trying to cut back. Jeff

Release 3.1.0 (Beta) Is Now Available
macjeff replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
I am away and forgot my laptop power adapter for my MacBookPro. I borrowed a PC and did a quick change on the ISY. I noticed the progress bar stayed up. On the mac it randomly disappears and you have to go to event viewer. I borrowed a mac and tried the same task and it disappeared right away (1/2 way through the progress bar). As a newbee to all of this I thought stuff was done and started new tasks. Now I know to look at the event viewer to make sure it is finished. (and after UD had to assist in a rebuild of my ISY). Any way we can get this fixed with mac? Jeff -

It may be related to other bug they said was just fixed but anyone else have a lot of device communication errors. I got like 10 in a row. I can fix two ways. One is to click on device with error and turn on and off. This takes a while with a lot of errors. The other is quit java app and open it again then it's fine. Jeff. -

Here are my findings last night 1. The programs ran at regular time. 2. I left the isy logged in but it was frozen. Quit the java app. Logged out and logged back in and time was correct but when I look at program summary they did run 1 hour too early. 3. Can you add a way to put daylight savings into your programs. Like send an email when clocks change or something like that? Jeff -

Michel, I am also getting the Java exceptions errors. Sometimes I leave the JAVA app running on mac and come back to see the error. Most of the time I have to reboot the ISY because logging out and logging back in after the error I get not found. I would say 1-2 times a day but only a couple times a week do I need a reboot. Jeff -
so then the manual is wrong? I guess they need to fix that. Jeff
