All INSTEON Devices Not Reachable
I have just discovered that all my INSTEON devices defined in my ISY994 show up with red ! next to them and it cannot communicate with them. I don't know when this happened exactly as I was gone for the month of February. My Z-wave devices all still work. I have rebooted my ISY and unplugged/re-plugged in my PLM. All lights appear normal. How do I determine the problem?

EISY the future?
Thanks. Sorry for the newbie question to this forum. Should have read the 1st posting first. My bad. After reading that post, a couple questions popped to my head: If my ISY994i is doing fine and I don't use Z-Wave much (i have 500 card installed), then is it safe to say I should just stay on this platform until it dies because the benefits of moving would be minimal? If I did migrate to an EISY, I assume the zmatter card required for Z-wave devices is not the same as the 500 card I have in my ISY and would need to add it for Z-wave functionality - correct? I looked but couldn't find any info on how EISY, Home Assistant, and Apple HomeKit can all be tied together. Maybe I missed it? Thanks.

EISY the future?
Sorry if this has been asked or if there is already a thread, please just point me. I have an ISY994i with Z-wave card. Have used ISY and INSTEON for years. Is EISY now the future? Should I migrate from ISY to EISY? Was looking at Home Assistant to integrate with Apple HomeKit and my ISY but Home AssistaNt really needs a Raspberry Pi from the looks of it. I may be getting in over my head here but is there a white paper, to use an old term, on all this automation stuff and how to integrate? Thanks!

Spurious activations
Well since I turned on Level 3 and did the other things, no random device on events have occurred. Should I turn off Level 3 for now or is there no harm in leaving it turned on? Thanks.

Spurious activations
@MrBill Thank you for your detailed suggestions. I turned on level 3 diagnostics and will let that go for a while. I will leave the admin console open. I restored the on/off switch in question and the other 3 in my scene. This device and scene are not in any program. We'll see what happens over the next day or so. Thanks again for the quick and detailed response!

Spurious activations
I have an on/off INSTEON switch that just started randomly turning on in the middle of the night last night. Any way to see what is triggering this device?

Going back to INSTEON
Thanks for all the help.

Going back to INSTEON
So I moved the Lamplinc closer to the PLM and it worked. I did another one and it found 2 other addresses which I have no clue what they are but obviously couldn't communicate with them. See screen shot. Where are these coming from?

Going back to INSTEON
So I reloaded the full firmware without a problem and rebooted. When I do a Tools/Diagnostics/PLM Info status it says 34.E7.BB v9E / Connected so I assume it's all communicating properly. When I try to add back in my first INSTEON device, I get the attached error. I am trying to add a Lamplinc Dual-band Dimmer 2457D2. I must be missing something. Suggestions?

Going back to INSTEON
This is my current version. So I can try it like you said. The downside is no notification if the PLM fails. If I load the firmware with PLM support, I assume I'm starting from scratch to load all my devices including my currently defined Z-wave devices - correct?

Going back to INSTEON
So if reconnect my PLM with this firmware, it will work with no changes? I can just start adding my INSTEON devices back in?

Going back to INSTEON
When INSTEON looked like they were toast, I loaded the Z’-wave firmware version for my ISY994i and started getting a few Z-wave devices. Now it looks like INSTEON is still a viable solution so I want to reload the firmware with the PLM support for my INSTEON devices. Will I loose all my Z-wave device definitions when I do so? Suggestions on best way to proceed? Thanks!

Good Z-Wave Garage Door Controller?
@MrBill, it's an Overhead Door model 1026. Is there an IOS app the Zooz? If I only need one switch sensor, is the Zen16 usable? Isn't it one sensor?

Good Z-Wave Garage Door Controller?
I've been reading articles on Google for the best Z-wave garage door controller. GoControl comes up a lot but is not available. MyChamberlain shows up too but I don't think it's Z-wave or compatible with Alexa. I want a reliable Z-wave controller I can add to my Overhead Door opener that is Alexa compatible. Any suggestions? Does one exist?

Reset ISY994i and Loaded Z-Wave firmware only
Any thoughts on what ZW 002, 3, & 4 are?

Reset ISY994i and Loaded Z-Wave firmware only
@MrBill I have 2 Z-wave repeaters somewhere in this myriad of boxes! LOL

Reset ISY994i and Loaded Z-Wave firmware only
Another data point. I just moved ZW 006 to an outlet at the top of the basement stairs. The admin console immediately showed it ready. I could turn the light on and off. ZW 005 still had the red !. As soon as I did a query on ZW 005, ZW 006 went back to the red ! too!

Reset ISY994i and Loaded Z-Wave firmware only
So we moved and I'm getting out of INSTEON moving to Z-ware (presumably). I did a factory reset on my ISY994i to start from scratch and loaded the Z-wave only 5.3.4 firmware. I tried adding my first Z-wave smart plug from my iMac with my ISY downstairs. It didn't find it. Then I read the smart tips and it said always define a new device close to the ISY. So I took my laptop downstairs right next to my ISY and it found the new device right away! Great. I got a 2 pack of these smart plugs so I did the 2nd one and it added right away too. I thought I was golden. Then I brought both plugs back up to my office and plugged them and logged back into the admin console on my iMac. It cannot reach the plugs! See attached screenshot. The plugs are ZW 005 and 006. The plugs are Ministon Z-wave plugs that are repeaters too. The smart tips said I could move them anywhere after getting them added but that is not working. Also I have no idea with ZW 002, 003, & 004 are. Ideas on that?

ISY994i as Z-Wave Controller?
Sorry @lilyoyo1 it's been a while since I've done much with my ISY. It just ran and I didn't have to think about it. Now, moving to a new home and with getting out of INSTEON, it's taking me a bit to jump back in.

ISY994i as Z-Wave Controller?
One other question: I'm thinking I should probably do a factory reset on my entire ISY994i/Z-wave combo since we're in a new house and I'm getting off of INSTEON. I think I should start clean. Agree?

ISY994i as Z-Wave Controller?
@Javi thanks. I've looked for the Z-wave firmware in the wiki and can't find it. Can anyone point me to it? Also, my Z-wave version is 6.81.00. Is that still current? Not sure if I need an upgrade or not. I added this Z-wave daughter card to my ISY994i a while ago. Thanks!!

ISY994i as Z-Wave Controller?
This may be a dumb question but with INSTEON going away, can I use my ISY994i with the Z-wave daughter card to simply be a Z-wave controller? We just moved from our house to a condo and I don't really want to go through the INSTEON installation process based on the company's status. I don't think I need the PLM to control Z-wave devices do I? I'm obviously a novice in the Z-wave world and am sad that INSTEON is going away. (Maybe some other company will swoop in and buy them and keep it alive. One can hope,). I also have a Honeywell Lyric Security Controller in the Condo we bought which also does Z-wave so maybe I can just use that? Thanks for any help/guidance.

Changed to T-Mobile
@MrBill Thanks for your patience. This is just more complicated than I can do. As long as the T-mobile notifications are working, I'll just stick with those. Again, many thanks.
