  1. @Javi Good to know. I'm on Android, thus no linking yet. I wasn't aware it was available on IOS.
  2. Being that Z-wave migration is not yet available when moving from the ISY to the Polisy there's no advantage in doing the ISY Z-wave backup as you'll be doing a fresh install on the Polisy. The Z-wave backup feature in the Polisy is not yet available. After you install your devices do a "generate topology" report which will create a record of your installed devices
  3. You need to add devices from the Admin Console. If you're moving from the Hub to the Polisy then you should do a factory reset on each device to ensure that no hub link tables remain in the device. After you do the factory reset write down the Insteon address for the device. You can then enter the device address into the Polisy and link the device from the Admin Console without having to press the set button on that device. Click on Link Management in the Admin Console | New Insteon device. Enter the device address xx.xx.xx and click OK. This will work for all hardwired devices. Battery operated devices will need to manually be put into the linking mode. It's best to start with devices closest to the Polisy to ensure good communications as you rebuild your Insteon network. Hopefully you have an Insteon PLM, it should also be factory reset before any linking.
  4. UDI has one Polisy in stock The Polisy does not support IR. I'm not aware of any plans to add IR to the Polisy but there may be some 3rd party options. Currently the Polisy supports Insteon and Z-wave. If you want Z-wave then also order the Zooz Z-wave 700 dongle from UDI
  5. @mvgossman Polisy currently supports Insteon and Zwave. Zwave devices are available from numerous manufactures. The possibility that Insteon and/or the PLM will be resurrected is a good possibility, but we probably won't have an ideal where it's all going until they exit bankruptcy which could be many months from now.
  6. The PLM was a low priority device for Smarthome as they were focused on the Insteon Hub which has it own interface built in.
  7. As the company slipped into insolvency the sold off their existing inventory and didn't reorder additional stock,
  8. If you haven't already, take a look at this link INSTEON: Troubleshooting Communications Errors - Universal Devices, Inc. Wiki (universal-devices.com) Also try the 4 tap test, per the link below
  9. Can you connect via the Admin Console? On the Polisy configuration page, make sure that "Insteon support" is checked, and then click "Save"
  10. I believe that if you want to transfer your Portal license from one device to another you have to have UD support make the change.
  11. This forum doesn't support the Insteon Hub or Home Assistant, I would check with Home Assistant support, perhaps they also have a forum
  12. You can find you ISY UUID under the HELP | ABOUT in the admin console
  13. The on/off module uses a relay to switch the load, the dimmer module uses a triac designed to work with resistive loads.
  14. The Zwave 700 series is the latest and best. It's backwards compatible with the 500 series devices. Aeotec.com and Getzooz.com/products have a large assortment of Zwave devices. The Polisy is the next generation and will replace the ISY994 https://www.universal-devices.com/store/ The ISY and the Polisy are able to control some Wi-Fi enabled devices using the Network resource option on the ISY or Polisy
  15. The Smarthome/Insteon server only hosted the Insteon Hub. The server shutdown will have no effect on your system(s). For now, your best bet is to go with Zwave 700 series devices. If you don't plan on upgrading to the Polisy then adding the 500 series Zwave board to you ISY would be the next best step if you want to add more devices to your current setup.
  16. Your best bet would be to use the Polisy with the Zwave 700 dongle and Zwave dimmer switches. Aeotec: Z-Wave light dimmer switch, illumino Dimmer Switch ‐ Aeotec Zooz: ZOOZ ZEN77 S2 DIMMER – ZOOZ (getzooz.com)
  17. Ther's no way to directly access/control the Hub from your LAN
  18. No, currently your best bet would be to use a Zwave on/off switch
  19. The Insteon servers allowed one to access and program the Insteon Hub. For those who have a working hub, it will continue to work they just won't be able to access it via the app, make any changes to the programs, and be unable to add or delete devices from the hub. It's possible that later this year the "Insteon server" could be resurrected by a new owner as Smarthome's assets will most likely be being sold off.
  20. Techman replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
@jkraus There are Zwave smart bulbs that will work with the ISY994 if you have the Zwave dongle add-on. Aeotec makes a Zwave nano dimmer: Smallest Z-Wave light dimmer switch • Aeotec

From the Polisy spec sheet: Native support for 3G/4G modems gives you the ability to go off the grid. Literally! And, if you are one of those maximum-connectivity types, this model – Polisy PRO – comes standard with Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth (4.0)
  22. Not to worry and no need to panic, It's not over until the fat lady sings. With Smartlabs/Smarthome now in bankruptcy there exists that part, or all, of the Insteon technology can, or may, be resurrected post-bankruptcy, including support for the existing Insteon Hubs. Michel and his team are on top of this. Hang in there for a while and let's see how this plays out. Patience is a virtue.
  23. Techman replied to jkraus's topic in Polisy
The Polisy hardware has a faster processor and is an improvement over the ISY. You can migrate your Insteon programs and devices from the ISY to Polisy by doing a restore of your ISY backup to the Polisy. There're detailed instructions available online and in the UDI Wiki. The Polisy also supports the USB PLM in addition to the 2413S serial PLM It also supports the Zwave 700 protocol using a plug in Zwave module.
  24. @jkraus Take a look at the Aeotec Zwave 700 range extender. It's both a repeater and signal amplifier. It should be located within about 20 feet of your ISY/Polisy and should give you the coverage you need. Also keep in mind that each non-battery Zwave device also acts as a repeater. The repeater should be mounted as high up as possible in an area free of obstructions. Z-Wave repeater and range extender • Aeotec Range Extender 7 (ZW189)
