@DennisC Ah I understand. To access Polisy (ISY) you use the ISY Launcher application (Java based) Your existing ISY as well as the new Polisy ISY will both be listed. If you don't see the Polisy ISY listed. Clear the java cache and see if that helps.
-
@DennisC I think if you try https://ip_addr of your Polisy it will work. There shouldn't be any thing else you need to do. You may get a warning about the site not being safe. Continue past the warning. You'll be fine.

Admittedly I didn't read the whole thread @larryllix, but you might double check that Insteon Support is enabled, it might be that simple.

Ran an update on my Polisy today and ended up with ISY version 5.1.0. Unfortunately Launcher 5.3.4 doesn't seem to work with it. Is there a version available that does? Thank you!

I've had issues with the Polisy grabbing the right DNS addr's. I have to constantly add them manually. You might check that you have valid DNS addrs in the Polisy configuration. Via your web browser go to your Polisy and then settings, check the DNS entries.

I think what you want can be found here. https://forum.universal-devices.com/forum/179-isy-on-polisy/

Is RemoteLinc (or RemoteLinc 2) still a thing? Alternatives?
kzboray replied to romeo_echo's topic in ISY994
I recently added a 2342-222 just to experiment with. I had to manually add it via it's address as it was not found using the ISY discovery process, but once I did that it was identified as an eight button switch. There is an option to reconfigure it as a four button in the ISY as well. The one button, and two button options in the ISY did not work, only the four and eight button configurations. Each switch is a one press on, and then the next press off out of the box. There may be a way to reconfigure this action via the ISY, but I haven't played with it enough to know. -
@simplextechJust wondering if this NS might one day soon be available in the store. Thank you!

No, Currently I have zero ISY's running on Polysy.
-
I support 5 different Polisy / ISY installs. That's a lot of work, but if it needs to happen, sooner is always better and honestly...happy to take one for the team.
-
As always you where right @Michel Kohanim. I found that I hadn't changed the IP addr for the ISY . My bad. Nothing to see here...move along.

Performed the update, rebooted the Polisy and bounced UDX & ISY. I am still unable to get Polyglot to fully communicate with my original ISY. I am using LifX as an example, but I have similar problems with Harmony, Ring etc. Although all the devices and programs work, i.e. tapping a light switch turns on the LifX bulbs, they do not show correctly in ISY. And when I do a query I get an error in ISY, but Polyglot logs show the query. 2021-07-27 10:58:18,191 Controller polyinterface INFO polyinterface:reportDriver: Updating Driver d073d5349cb2 - GV0: -36, uom: 56 2021-07-27 10:58:18,194 Controller polyinterface INFO polyinterface:reportDrivers: Updating All Drivers to ISY for LIFX LIFX 349cb2(d073d5349cb2) Any suggestions about getting my original ISY talking to the updated Polisy?

@gzahar Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately while sudo service isy disable did in fact disable the service it didn't help with the Polisy wanting a password for the ISY. I also tried removing the ISY service per Michel, but no joy. I then tried changing the password of my main ISY to the same as the Polisy ISY, no go. I'm gonna wait for the 2413U to arrive and swap things over to the Polisy and see if that solves the issue. if not I'll put in a ticket. I still have a weird issue with DNS that needs to be resolved as well, so it will probably be a toofer. Thank you again!

@bpwwer Thank you, I have tried restarting Polyglot, rebooting the Polisy multiple times without any change. @Michel Kohanim Via the launcher I used http://10.0.0.55:8080 as my addr and it shows up in the Launcher and is accessible via CLOUD, not LAN. Using LAN just hangs Java and I have to kill the Java process to get things going again. Using CLOUD works perfectly. Is there a way to remove easily ISY from the Polisy? If so I can do that until I have a 2413U to play with. Thanks guys! Appreciate the fast (as always) help!

What is it about new toys that I simply can't resist! So I took the plunge and added ISY to my Polisy. The upgrade / Update went smoothly without any issues. The ISY was immediately available in the launcher (once I typed in the addr) and I was good to go. I was not able to launch the Polisy ISY using LAN, only CLOUD, but it was fast and promises good things in the future. I don't have a USB PLM or a serial cable so I went into the Polyglot config and changed the ISY settings back to my existing ISY994i. It works mostly, but I do have this error that won't go away. Also the NodeServers only partially work. LifX works, but I can't query devices. Ring is dead. Harmony kinda works, etc. I believe this is just another symptom what ever is causing the password error. Anyone else have an experience like this?

Huge thanks! Bummer on the NS restart, but this is a great first step!

How do you all determine that your ISY and Polisy have just rebooted due to a power failure? And secondarily to that how can I force a restart of a particular NS from the ISY? On a power outage, by the time the router is back up and all the LifX devices have rebooted, the Polisy has restarted and NS's like the LifX NS need to be manually (Hopefully automagically) restarted to find all the missing devices.

Thanks to @MrBill I was able to make this work. His suggestions got me onto the right track. The goal was to have a three way virtual switch with three psychical switches operate at two different light settings based upon time of day. The goal was 100% power between Sunrise and midnight, and 35% power after midnight. A couple of problems that I ran into. First the status on the switches LED's didn't match the actual power setting, and second was decoupling the scene power setting changes from the actual switch activation. This was necessary to avoid large amounts of traffic on the AC power line and Insteon network. To accomplish these goals I separated the power settings from the actual switch activation. I setup the power setting based upon ToD. The "On Level" is required to force the LED's on the dimmers to match the actual power setting. These traffic intensive routines only run one time each at Midnight and then again at Sunrise. Coupling these with the actual switch activation was too much traffic in my opinion. 2nd FL Hall Lights Night Light 12am 35% - [ID 0037][Parent 0039] If From 12:00:00AM To Sunrise (same day) Then In '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' To 35% in 0.1 seconds, 1 retry In '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' To 35% in 0.1 seconds, 1 retry In '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' To 35% in 0.1 seconds, 1 retry Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' On Level 35% Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' On Level 35% Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' On Level 35% Else In '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' To 100% in 0.1 seconds, 1 retry In '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' To 100% in 0.1 seconds, 1 retry In '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' To 100% in 0.1 seconds, 1 retry Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' On Level 100% Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' On Level 100% Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' On Level 100% Next, handling the actual switch activation. 2nd Fl Hallway Lights Control - [ID 0042][Parent 0039] If From 12:00:00AM To Sunrise (same day) And ( '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' is switched On Or '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' is switched On Or '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' is switched On ) Then Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' On 35% Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' On 35% Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' On 35% Else Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' On 100% Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' On 100% Set '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' On 100% I also added a way to force the lights to full power incase of emergency or need. 2nd Floor Hall Lights 100% Override - [ID 003A][Parent 0039] If '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' is switched Fast On Or '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' is switched Fast On Or '2nd Floor Hallway Lights / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' is switched Fast On Then Run Program '2nd FL Hall Lights Night Light 12am 35%' (Else Path) Run Program '2nd Fl Hallway Lights Control' (Else Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Hope this helps someone else!

I am trying to set lights in a hallway to come on at only 35% after a set time of day. If manually switch on the lights using the switch that actually controls power to the lights, it works. The lights come on at 35%. If I use one of the scene switches (simulated 3-way) the lights first come on at full brightness then after a sec dim to 35%. I can't figure out how to get them to come on at 35% using one of the scene switches. I have also tried setting their on level without any change in function. Here's the code I am using. Any suggestions from you pro's? 2nd FL Hall Lights Night Light 12am 35% - [ID 0037][Parent 0039] If From 12:00:00AM To Sunrise (next day) And ( '2nd Floor Hallway / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' is switched On Or '2nd Floor Hallway / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' is switched On Or '2nd Floor Hallway / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' is switched On ) Then Set '2nd Floor Hallway / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Guest) Ctrl' On 35% Set '2nd Floor Hallway / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Chris) Slave' On 35% Set '2nd Floor Hallway / 2nd Fl Hall Lts (Stairs) Slav' On 35% Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Polisy has become musical when rebooting. Is this normal?
