Alexa not that simple . . .
The first thing to do is start from the beginning. Get your Isy set up on your portal with the home you are in. No point in adding complications with other homes etc. before you get your primary place settled. Choose the isy for that home, go to connections and pick Amazon. Once there choose whether you want to use devices, scenes, or programs and set those up. Once done, you can log into your Alexa app, enable to isy V3 skill and then sign into your portal account. Once that is done ask Alexa to discover.

Is the Polisy standalone and is it an ISY replacement?
For NWI, all devices already installed need to support it otherwise NWI would not work (All devices must be plus as you mentioned). I'M surprised your lock worked since NWI is only for hardwired devices.

Smarthome won't replaced failed 2.4 PLM under warranty
I'm always wary of a high failure rate with a particular device. I tend to look at the environment when I see something like that happen. I can say the amount of people claiming failures (of new plms) have dropped significantly though they aren't at the 2-3 year mark yet.

What compromises are there with switching all Insteon to Z-Wave?
I'm With you on the sensors. I do like zwave sensors. Though I have a few insteon motion sensors, most are zwave. I also use their locks and outlets (I have insteon outlets too)

What compromises are there with switching all Insteon to Z-Wave?
Both are good systems with their own pros and cons but I prefer insteon over zwave. For me, you take a step backwards when it comes to zwave switches and dimmers. Scene control with zwave is far inferior to insteon. devices do not operate in unison. For some this isn't a problem but it is for me. I also don't like that zwave is dependant on a controller. For devices that allows for direct control of other devices this is usually limited to no more than 4 devices. All that doesn't even get into being able to easily adjust things such as on levels and ramp rates. Insteon is much easier to customize and configure. Because zwave uses parameters (which are different for each mfg.), this requires to constantly have manuals for each device type you're using for when you want to make a change.

Is the Polisy standalone and is it an ISY replacement?
That's one of the many reasons why I'm such an ardent supporter of the ISY. They don't change stuff simply to change them. When they come out with new hardware its because new hardware is needed. The isy I received in 2012/2013 can use the same modules and boards that an isy994 produced today can use. They are great at forward thinking and ensuring their products can last for years without forcing customers to upgrade every couple.

You're more than welcome to ask what you want. I'm just stating that he gave you an answer. If he was speaking on a future version he would have said so. Instead he stated that it would do exactly what you asked. It's not about intelligence. It's simply you refusing to see what something is.

Is the Polisy standalone and is it an ISY replacement?
There is no reading between lines. You just have to read his replies. He stated specifically in his first line; Polisy will replace ISY994 but ISY994 will remain an active and supported product for a variety of business reasons. Adding that it already has what it needs for insteon and they are researching zwave alternatives; INSTEON, there's a DB9 jack on the back which will be used to communicate with INSTEON. Given our horrid history with Z-Wave boards (manufacturing, certification, FCC, obsolescence, etc.), we are considering vetting one (max of two) USB dongles that work reliably (700 series). We are researching. As well as what their plans are with elk; In all likelihood ELK will become a Poly with nodes. Your ELK module will of course have the same features as you already have with your ISY's ELK module

He already stated it has what it needs to be a full controller and that's they've been testing for over a year.

What's the geek discount? I'll take that! Lol

Is the Polisy standalone and is it an ISY replacement?
To add to what @simplextechsaid, I don't think there's simply been enough demand. Most of the global cache posts are old. Newer systems have duplicated what many people used them for at a cheaper cost and easier to integrate.

So what is with this Insteon CEO letter?
I'd try moving it to see. I have one for beta testing and using it is just as quick as using my Isy. Speed generally is not a complaint with the hub.

Haven't heard global cache mentioned in a while. You can use the network module to talk to global cache. There should be some old links in the network module sub forum. A search in the search bar should pull them up.

So what is with this Insteon CEO letter?
Sounds like communication issues. Lots of noise present.

Is the Polisy standalone and is it an ISY replacement?
Like that yes. However you did it on a separate post. Depending on how many posts come here before he looks he may not see the exact post that you made. Never mind someone else made the post so you can't edit it.

Edit your post and add his name so he sees the exact post

What can Polisy do?
If you're already up and running with your system then you can wait to see what happens with polisy. At this point it's obviously for those who want a simply way of setting up and integrating with Polyglot. Looking at UDIs history, a timeline will not be given regardless of who asks and how much they are asked. They simply won't be pressured into something they don't want to do. Outside of using polisy for Polyglot, there really is not reason to purchase it for future capabilities when it most likely won't happen within the time you would want it to happen. Buy it today for what it can do today not for what it may do tomorrow. When it has what you're looking for then that's the time to purchase.

Is the Polisy standalone and is it an ISY replacement?
You may want to direct your message at udi by adding @ and the name of someone who works there as they are the only ones who can answer these questions. With they said, I highly doubt they would give any sort of a timeline for the isy to be ported over. The way their release read, the current versions will be able to run the isy software at some point. Looking at UDIs history, I think it's safe to assume Elk or any other ISY add on would not change. If anything it would get better. Personally, I don't see a port happening for 1 to 2 years. When it does, I would assume it would be once they move on from java. All of this is assumption on my part. I'm sure when udi Is ready they will share more information

What can Polisy do?
If there is a current nodeserver for them then yes, as current nodeservers are supposed to be supported. Add @ and whoever from UDI you want to see your post as they would be the ones with the answer.

What can Polisy do?
Polisy combines everything you have to do now to get polyglot and nodes servers up and running into one easy to use package. Instead of you having to configure your own system it comes ready to go. From the sound of it, at some point in the future, the isy will be ported to it. Hopefully @Michel Kohanim will be able to chime in whether that is true or not. If it is true, I'm assuming it comes with the zwave board included or allows you to take your existing board and put inside when that time comes. If you go into the polyglot subforum, you will see plenty of examples of what current users are currently doing as well as some of the different devices it'll allow you to integrate with the isy.

Program Trigger based on Device Button Push?
Naming things are tricky. What's clear for 1 may not be clear for another person. The wiki does cover this type of info

Doorbell cameras that integrate with ISY
I have one and mine shows on my TVs via my matrix system. No issues at all. I haven't felt let down at all by the image. Most times as already mentioned, I'm viewing something on a tiny screen so it doesn't matter

Any app will do what you're asking. It really comes down to personal preferences in regards to interface. Agave seems to be the popular choice for Android users
