Will there be a replacement for the Insteon PLM?
There's half a dozen recent threads where this is discussed on the Smarthome sub-forum. The second post there has Michel's response. Regardless, until it happens it will only be hope and speculation

Bluetooth Status Whats Requires
A developer would need to have an API for it to develop a Node server for it. Due to time and effort, they most likely would want a public API so they don't need to constantly fight to keep up with the mfg making changes that breaks the Node server. The more information you provide (such as getting the API) the greater the chance someone may make one. Popular demand helps as well. While you may be willing to pay for it, they probably would want more people willing to pay to make it worth the investment.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
There was a specific line for the EU and legal frequencies there. New Zealand/Aus, Middle East, etc.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
Everything came from their Irvine location. The few distros, they had, they shipped direct to them from that location

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
Yes. Factory reset your Isy per the instruction manual (Google ISY factory reset). Then go to the current release sub forum and download the 5.3.4 firmware. Once done, add your devices. Programs are individually unique to a person's lifestyle. The Isy is cayenne of great things. You're only limited by your imagination and skill

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
They have an extremely small footprint there. Regardless, they also respect our patents/copywriter, etc there so if insteon was copied, whoever did it would be prevented from selling it there as well. In addition, 50-60hz and 270vac is fine but the RF was different for europe

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
As long as you stated that it was modified and listed the modifications, I think you do limit yourself somewhat. Use at your own risk doesn't always release from liability. Win or lose, the headache of court isn't always worth it.

ISY is working normally but showing as not connected in the ISY Portal
I've never had to reboot

Has his subscription expired?

ISY Portal
You'll have to pay for the portal for each ISY/Polisy though they can be added to a single account to be managed. Since PLMs are only found on ebay, polisy is your best bet

ISY is going crazy
Factory reset has been a the number 1 piece of advice from every single veteran on here from the beginning. Since you dont want to take the advice given, you'll have to figure it out on your own. I'm not able to help you.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
I wouldn't call them a potential high end leader. There's a huge difference between them and the high end guys. I don't think there needs to be a clear winner. With the amount of people, technologies, and how they work, it's really about choosing the right system that fits your needs. For example, if you want 2 or 3 switches to turn some outside lights on, wifi switches are sufficient. They'd work for a spare room to have control over with a voice assistant. ZigBee devices work well for those with the Alexa ZigBee hub. This can help those who need more devices but don't want to invest in managing their wifi network. Zwave for those with whole house aspirations. While I'm not a fan of it and wouldn't use it as the foundation of my lighting system, it does offer benefits for most people. Especially when you consider the broad range of devices and ecosystem. Lutron for those with the income for it who desire a luxury system with a lower entry point along with the ability to manage it themselves. The great thing is that you can integrate different supported devices together without locking yourself into 1 system. This allows you to use the best for any given situation vs needing to pick a winner overall.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
Thats why I say zero to none. To be honest though, there was also never a need to steal the IP since theres no money in it. Its of limited use outside N.A and would get shut down before they made their money back. Zwave and other technologies accomplishes the same thing as insteon at the same price (if not more) they would get copying insteon's tech. Especially since they couldnt sell in Europe, S.A nor N.A

Wanting to run zwave on polisy but stuck
No. The controller doesnt know distance nor intentions. What It knows is that it cant reach something but another device can. A 2000sq ft single story house with no walls will require less devices than a 2 story home with lots of doors, walls, and masonry work. Turns and furniture also play a part. For example, in my home, the closest zwave device to my ISY is about 5' away. Its not a neighbor to any devices in my network. Each room has its own zwave outlet and motion sensor in the closet. Yet in the upstairs bedroom thats closer to the ISY, that outlet isnt a neighbor to anything. Yet all upstairs motion sensors talk to an outlet thats further from the front bedroom in the hallway. If I were to remove that outlet, would things change...of course. But that is what I want to happen. If it were to die and I not realize it, the self healing properties of zwave will most likely fix it before I notice.

Former Inste-Off Customer looking for Door Sensor recommendations
The best setup depends on your needs and how you want things handled. Since you stated you already have INSTEON and you're asking on this forum, people will naturally push you towards a setup that allows you to use universal devices products and integrate your current INSTEON products. If you only want notifications from your sensors and don't care to integrate them in such a way that also turns lights on/off etc. then any cheap wifi sensor would work for you and most can be added to your Alexa.

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
The move was already happening before purchase (not that private negotiations weren't happening). The building they were leasing was bought by an investment group looking to build apartments in that area.

Their store on Millikan closed in 2016 and they moved off Alton in 2017/2018

Insteon Hubs Bricked? Insteon going out of business? What about switch purchase, what now?
It's not just about the hub. It's covering all that you state in 1 area so that people can easily find the answers to the questions like yours vs a multitude of different posts all over the forums. Take the 2nd post on that link. It lets users know that INSTEON has closed their doors and what options they have to keep their devices working.
