Insteon system now useless...converting to ISY994i
Here you go. What derogatory comments are on overdrive? How many questions have you answered or helped with? The very first 2 posts on the Smarthome forum details (1 of which I wrote)what people need to get started with UDI products as well as the information being on their main webpage etc. Remind me, what have you done? If you actually read my stuff, you'll see I've haven't put anyone down. With half a dozen posts on here with links and the same questions asked throughout, it is easy information to find at this point. Theres nothing wrong with asking people if they are even trying to help themselves about certain things. People often say there are no helpful guides, you can't find out anything etc. But @Geddyhas been organizing things to make it easier but yet many still don't try to use the readily available resources to answer their stuff. At that point, yes I'll ask if they tried. You might consider that snarky or mean but ultimately sometimes people do have to try and help themselves. Isy/polisy isn't an easy system to use. It's going to take time and effort to learn this system and what's it about. Im trying to push people to use the resources in front of them to prepare themselves and learn how to help themselves. If not and the expecta8is hand holding throughout, what could/should become a great system could actually do the opposite and become a nightmare

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
The "D" stands for dimmer not dual band. The 2476 is powerline only. IMO, no other DIY switch matches insteon for form or function (though looks are subjective). The next best thing to use for switches would probably be zwave. Id recommend the zooz 700 series devices

Zwave would be a good alternative though nothing has the flexibility that insteon has. You dont have to abandon anything unless you want all of the same device type throughout the house.

How to update ZOOZ ZST10 700 stick
Yes, zst10 is S2 500 series and 700 series. You have the 500 series stick which probably requires a different firmware. The correct stick can be found on UDI's website as well as the links in the 700 series tips and tricks section

Insteon system now useless...converting to ISY994i
It was a question. Nothing more nothing less. Yes, many people are freaking out with many of us (including myself spent most of the day yesterday responding to those same people to help...what about you? How much assistance have you offered? It took more time to post a question than simply going to amazon and typing isy994. First listing that pops up....isy994 zwave

Bathroom vent fan switch control.
There are variable speed fans. Those are what i mentioned earlier. A properly sized fan for your space will accomplish what you're trying to do

Will the Smartlinc 2412N (ethernet) work with the ISY to run my Insteon devices? I sure hope there's a way
I have both versions and don't foreseea need for the pro at anytime in the near future. Should that change, the modules can always be added later

Have you bothered to try and look? I didn't have any problems seeing them on UDI's website or Amazon

Wanting to run zwave on polisy but stuck
Did you try clicking the links in the zwave tips and tricks or UDI's webpage for Polisy? I didn't have any issues with finding USB sticks in either one https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/34826-zwave-700-series-tips-and-tricks/

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
UDI's business isn't just isy and polisy. The man hours it takes to make the hub work with polisy as if it were a standard PLM does add up to significant dollars. When you add the fact that means lost time for working on their own projects (they have other stuff besides isy/polisy), the ROI has to add up. I remember when I first looked at RTI and INSTEON. I abandoned it because it wasn't worth the time and effort. Ditto when I first left INSTEON behind. I caught hell. Was told how I was leaving money on the table etc. Yet, i make 3x that on any given house now than i did then. Not all money is good money. What sounds like a good deal isnt always a good deal. On the surface it seems like a win for UDI. If you look at their other business adventures and time, it may not be worth it

Still has to matter in regards to ROI. If the numbers dont add up then its not worth it.

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
It's not UDI's job to cover for INSTEON. UDI can want to buy as many chips as they want but INSTEON has to be willing to sell them and sell them at a price that it makes sense for UDI. With that said, it's hard and costly to develop a simple click by click interface with 2 competing interfaces along with all the disparate options that both controllers offers. Simply put, the return on investment has to be worth it.

ISY is going crazy
It does not. Only a factory reset clearly erases everything

Insteon system now useless...converting to ISY994i
You can't. Two different systems. If you can still get the Id of your INSTEON devices you can use that to add them.

I did but polisy is from universal devices not homeseer

Will the Smartlinc 2412N (ethernet) work with the ISY to run my Insteon devices? I sure hope there's a way
Get a polisy and 2448a7 (get 2 for backup) from Amazon and use that

Will the Smartlinc 2412N (ethernet) work with the ISY to run my Insteon devices? I sure hope there's a way
It was that for a time. All I ever said was using info i was given at a time. I'm just happy different forces lined up to allow my business model to change where this doesn't impact me at all. I just hate it for everyone else.

Hi! Glad you finally made an appearance. I'm a little disappointed since it took almost a week for you to show up....and we can't even argue. I miss our debates ?. Everyone else gets offended. Lol

Never that. You know I would NEVER do something like that. Just providing easy to find information of what they need

If you're asking about homeseer then you need to ask on their forum. This is for universal devices products only such as the isy994 or polisy

- What can be used in place of hub?
https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/35747-insteon-has-shut-down-hub-users/- Smarthome forum appears to be offline
A plm doesn't plug into Nokia hub. It's a standalone product made by INSTEON not universal devices- Smarthome forum appears to be offline
They need to have a solution that works first. With plms in short supply they have to make sure it's viable as well. - What can be used in place of hub?
