Check page 12 of the user's guide here. Notice the missing non-toggle off setting. http://www.insteon.com/pdf/2334-2xx.pdf

Check the links I have posted, I think there is a hardware problem with some KPLs. I have multiple all off kpl buttons around the house. But there is one on an 8 button that fuctions as an all of, meaning it turns off all scene memebers, but the KPL remains lit. It is set to non-toggle off.
-
There are a few threads on this topic. It seems smarthome removed the all off function, maybe just from the 8 button. The All off description had been removed from the user's manual and I had talked with supprt to confirm this. You can do a work around with a program. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/12837-kpl-non-toggle-off-button-turns-on-when-pressed/ http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/12033-turn-off-keypadlinc-controller-led/ Eric

The relay was definitely off. If the relay turns on the water valve closes which trigger a variety of notifications and a terrible WAF.
-
Trigger reverse is not checked. I have had an io linc go bad before, but this one seems to be working. Stusviews has coined the term "gremlincs" which may be my problem.

Got home and everything seems to be working fine. Here are some interrogations and info: PLM is V1.B per the sticker, V9B from the ISY. Error logs look ok I think. The false io linc sensor on notification was just after 3AM on 12/1. Xathros, I promise that sensor was not on recently. If the sensor turns on it should mean that my water valve is closed. The power strip is on a separate circuit from the plm and io Linc. Really a bad week for me to have to trouble shoot. Hopefully everything will go back to working smoothly.
-
Xathros, The sensor was not on. It only turns on when the water valve closes. The green sensor light on the io linc was not on. A kpl button controlled by the sensor was not on. We'll see what time I can get home tonight to look at things and try what you suggested. I'll unplug the new power strip. I wish I had some screen shots with the programs not running when they should have been. Evidence. Eric

I did not check the error log but dumped the log. It was 4am and in word pad so I'll have to dig thru it. I also do not know why the isy showed the io linc sensor was on when it was not. Thanks for helping guys.

Xathros, the conditions on the programs that did not run were times. The programs are not in folders with conditions. There was no power loss. The last run box was empty. In my 9pm to mn program the little program icon did not have the green stripe during the run time. Oberkc, sorry I did not post the other program. It is something like this If time is 1206am Then set scene hallway stairs 30% on. The lights go from 90% to 50%, then to 30%. I realize the to time in my second program does nothing but help me organize and remember. My landscape and moon light timer programs did trigger by time
-
The 11pm program did run, the backlight did adjust. The 9pm program did not show a last run time when I checked it at around 1030pm and the lights did not adjust. It did not show true. Once I manually selected run then for it the program did run. The same for the mn program did not show true. By checking I mean looking in the admin console at the program details. The only thing new in the house was a surge suppressor I plugged in for a small christmas tree with leds. Still would not explain why some programs did not appear to run or why the isy thought the io linc sensor was on. Strange things.
-
Sorry, posted by accident and cannot edit. I disabled the water valve program but do not understand what is happening. The io linc sensor was not on, so why did the ISY show that it was. Could it be a communication problem after the 3AM query. That would not explain the programs based upon time not running. Is my PLM going bad. Just now while logged into the ISY the log in screen popped up like it was logging me out then back it. It is not set up for access from outside by network and I am not using the default password. I have to work late tonight so I may not be able to trouble shoot until tomorrow, but any help would be appreciated. Not feeling well right now so was up any way. Eric

ISY firmware 4.2.10 with a year old PLM, V9B. Last night a door was open and I did not receive a notification at 930 that it was, Hidden door sensor, linked to a KPL in the bedroom. If ( From 10:45:07PM To 6:30:00AM (next day) Or Time is 9:45:00PM ) And Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Exercise Room - Door Sensor' is On Then Send Notification to 'Eric text' content 'Exercise Room Door is Open' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') The kpl was lit, which is how I knew the door was open. A program that is supposed to adjust the lights going up the steps at 9pm did not run If From 9:00:03PM To 12:05:00AM (next day) Then Set Scene 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs 50%' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') and then a program to adjust the lights down further just after midnight did not run either. A program to turn off my KPL back light did run If Time is 11:00:03PM Then Set 'Master Bedroom / Master Bedroom Devices / Master His KPL - A lights' On 7 / Off 0 (Backlight Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I just received a notification at 310AM that my water valve was closed. ELK WSV controlled by an io linc. I have two notifications that should be sent. The first is if the relay status is closed, that program did not trigger. The second program, my confirmation program, sends notification if the io sensor is on, that program did trigger. I checked the valved and it was still open. The ISY showed the sensor was on, so I queried the device and the status of the sensor changed to off. I disabled the

Gary, You should not need a program for this. When you create a scene you can add devices to the scene as either a controllers or responders. Let's say you are adding button c from one of the kpls as a controller. When you add it to the scene you will get a pop up that allows you to add the button as a controller. When you look at the scene members in the administrative console controllers will be listed in red. If you click on the scene name you can set response levels for the scene members if the scene is triggered from the isy. You have to click on the red scene members (controllers) as well to set the response levels for when that controller triggers the scene. There is a box you can check to copy the levels for the isy as controller. Now, let me throw some ideas at you. In my theater I have two scenes, 1 and 2 with different on levels. Scene two usually serves as the intermission scene, raising light levels for a bathroom run. I have two Kpl buttons, scene 1 and scene 2, to trigger the scenes. I have each scene button set to non toggle on, so any time I press one of the buttons, it triggers that scene. However, I don't like having the button lit. I created two other scenes, scene 1 Kpl and scene 2 Kpl. I then have programs to turn the Kpl buttons off. You cannot turn a Kpl button off directly. You have to create a scene for it and turn the scene off. Program: If control Kpl scene 1 is on Or Kpl scene 1 is fast on Then Wait 2 seconds Set scene 1 Kpl off Another button is All off to set everything off. I created the all off scene and added all of the movie room responders to it. Responder levels set to off. However, I wanted a little bit of a delay so we can walk out. So I made a program. The all off button was not set as a controller or responder of the all off scene. The button is set to non toggle off. If control movie all off is off Or control movie all off is fast off Then wait 15 seconds Set scene movie all off off. Unless you have a communication issue which does not seem to be the case since your program works. Eric

If there is a specific dim level that you want then you can create a scene with the main button as a responder and one of the secondary buttons as a controller. Set the on level on ramp rate for the main lights in the scene. Be sure to click on the red text for the Kpl button name in the scene to set response levels when it is used as the controller.

Happy Thanksgiving. I am smoking a pork butt and installing some gear, so I have some time on my hands. The forum seems a bit quiet so here is what I need help with. I really want some ideas, rather than the actual programs. I have been adding devices to my children's rooms. Started with a switch for their main lights with a corresponding KPL button in the hallway downstairs that was set as a controller of the main lights for each of them. This way I can walk by the KPL and then turn the lights off. Now I want to transition into monitoring, I have several monitoring programs, like the one for my basement lights. In my daugther's room I now have a 6 button KPL to control the main lights, a switchlinc for her ceiling fan which she wants to be on all night, an appliance linc for her lamp which is on during story time, and a switchlinc for her closet that I am about to install. The closet light also needs to be on all night. So how would you set up the hallway KPL button to monitor the devices in her room. We really dont use the hallway KPL button to turn anything on in her room. Basic would be to remove the KPL button as a controller of the main lights scene. Create a program if status device is on or status device is on... Then set scene KPL Hallway button on, else button off. Of course that just seems boring. I am thinking about two monitoring programs, one for the day, one for at night. The day program would include all devices and turning the button off would turn all devices off. A night program would only be on if the devices that are supposed to be off at night are on. Or maybe the opposite, the KPL is on at night if the devices that are supposed to be on are on. Last night the fan on at 8pm program did not turn the fan on (separate issue). After we tucked her in and came down stairs she was yelling that we forgot the fan. If I had come down the stairs and seen that the KPL button was not on, I would have known. Instead, I pulled out my phone, turned the fan on. What would you guys do. Eric

Another option is to use a program. First create your all off scene. If control basement lights is switched off Then (wait 3 seconds) set scene all basement lights off. You may need to add a wait of 2-3 seconds to allow the traffic from the off command to just the main lights to clear.
-
Can you clarify what you mean by "the X10".
-
It can takes some effort but you can get network resources to control your av gear. I use a kpl button to toggle the TV power in the playroom and the isy to send a TV off command at night. Another button does play/pause for our wdtv live hub. I use a global cache itach flex wired. I am also a big fan of roomie remote which integrates extremely well with the isy. I started using it before they charged a subscription, but paid a lot for in app purchases. You can make custom remotes. You can have a button to turn on your gear and adjust the room lights. Roomie remote is ios only. There are other remote options.

Stu, I think the OP has set up a separate program to turn off the KPL LED. If you use a separate off program then you have to make sure to use And instead of Or in the if portion of the program. If this light and this light and this light are off, then set scene KPL LED off. However, in Stu's original example program he used the Else to turn off the KPL LED. One program, not two.
-
I tried a 5 second wait, no dice. No worries. Maybe this weekend I will troubleshoot some more to see where the problem is occurring. Eric
-
Update. I am having an issue with the single program. If I hit the all off button, D, on a 6 button DB KPL to turn off all of the basement lights, then the monitoring KPL does not turn off reliably. With the initial two programs it does. Maybe there is too much traffic with the All Off command or a bad com to the old KPL. I'll keep the two programs for now rather than troubleshoot. Eric
-
Good gracious you don't need a math class you need to move some place warmer.
-
Xathros, Thanks for the help. The purpose of the status of the KPL is to prevent the scene from being sent out unnecessarily. I just converted to your single program. I had posted in another thread last night about not minding extra traffic in order to keep a program more simple. Eric

I just figured this out so skip if you are busy. Otherwise good to read to figure out monitoring. I have a KPL button "Basement" on an older 8 button KPL v.36 in the hallway. I want that button to be on if the basement main lights, basement bookcase lights, or the basement step lights are on. If those three sets of lights are off, then I want the button to be off. If the lights are all off, the button is off. However, if one of the lights is on, then the button goes into a 5 second flash on/off repeatedly. The button is the sole responder to the 'Basement KPL Monitor Hallway' scene. Here is what I have: If Status 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway KPL8 - A - Hallway / Hallway KPL8 - G - Basement' is Off And ( Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Bookcase Lights' is On Or Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Steps' is On Or Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Main Lights New' is On ) Then Wait 5 seconds Set Scene 'Basement / Basement Scenes / Basement KPL Monitor Hallway ' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If Status 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway KPL8 - A - Hallway / Hallway KPL8 - G - Basement' is not Off And ( Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Bookcase Lights' is Off Or Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Steps' is Off Or Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Main Lights New' is Off ) Then Wait 5 seconds Set Scene 'Basement / Basement Scenes / Basement KPL Monitor Hallway ' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Turns off the Hallway KPL G Basement if the basement lights, basement cabinet lights, and basement steps are off. What am I missing that has resulted in the flashing. Thanks, Eric I saw the problem on the preview. If any device is on, turn the button on. If all are off, turn it off. So I needed and, not or. If Status 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway KPL8 - A - Hallway / Hallway KPL8 - G - Basement' is not Off And ( Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Bookcase Lights' is Off And Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Steps' is Off And Status 'Basement / Basement Devices / Basement Main Lights New' is Off ) Then Wait 5 seconds Set Scene 'Basement / Basement Scenes / Basement KPL Monitor Hallway ' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Turns off the Hallway KPL G Basement if the basement lights, basement cabinet lights, and basement steps are off.
