  1. Looks promising. Will give it a try.
  2. I have the following program designed to execute at bedtime. However, I can find no way to change the status of the KPL button to OFF once the program has run. Thus, I am left with a button that must be pressed again the following day to return it to OFF status. How can I accomplish my objective? Dad's Bedtime - [iD 0019][Parent 0001] If Status 'Family Room KPL / FR KPL A (Bedtime)' is On Then Set 'Kitchen Lights (Hallway)' On Set 'Chandelier (Upstairs)' On Set 'Dad's Bedroom (TL)' On Wait 1 second Set 'Family Room KPL / FR KPL 1 (Light On and Off)' Off Wait 2 minutes Set 'Kitchen Lights (Hallway)' Off Set 'Chandelier (Upstairs)' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  3. Thanks, Brian. I just placed an order.
  4. In an earlier post, the subject part was listed as one of the parts that needed replacement. I was preparing an order with mouser.com and all the parts were available except for the subject one. Is there a suitable replacement for this part? If not, can you suggest an online location where I can order a couple? Thanks.
  5. Have you considered running Disk Utility and check the disk?
  6. Thanks again, but the fan is up and running. I will copy the foregoing and pull everything down when we next return and I have had time to better educate myself.
  7. I will get a qualified electrician to help me next spring.
  8. This project is obviously too much for me. I have so much to do with the winter shutdown of this place that I am going to button the fan back up and wait until next May to take this on. I will return with the project then. In the interim can I use a ToggleLinc and replace the switch to give me remote on/off capability. If so, how do I wire it given there are only the two wires at the switch. Thanks for everything.
  9. There is one black and one white at the switch and one black and one white at the fan.
  10. I apologize. I see how I created the confusion with my diagram. There are two wires at the wall switch and these same two wires travel to the fan.
  11. Note the third photo from the left. That is what I see at the ceiling level above the fan--a black and a white wire.
  12. I posted earlier about this problem but the location is a long distance from my primary residence and there were yet unanswered questions. I am at that location now and will be there for about 10 days. I am not an electrician, but I am competent to wire in such devices given detailed instructions. I hope I can once again draw upon your expertise.
There are only 2 wires in the wall switch and only 2 wires in the ceiling to the fan. Attached are a wiring sketch, a photo of the wall switch and photos of the fan installation. I understand from some previous feedback that the KPL will not be able to directly control the load to the fan light when installed. I assume, however, that I will be able to write a program and control the light using the KPL. Is that true? If so, would you give me detailed instructions as to how to wire the KPL and the FanLinc? If possible can you provide these by wire color and location? Thanks.

  13. Thanks, Larry, but I think I am out of my depth on this one. I plant to wait until it manifests again and submit a ticket.
  14. Occasionally, when I delete a program I get a message window entitled "Deleting 1 programs" whose content is balnk. The Admin Console freezes at that point and must be restarted. How do I eliminate this problem?
  15. Normally good advice Stu, but in my situation I am at home during the winter but away half the time during the summer. Using the thermostats to remotely adjust the AC while we are returning will make the wife happy. I feel certain, however, that as soon as I get them installed I will find many other programming options that will simplify my life and save money.
  16. No, I am referring to both having lost power. When my stat comes back up following a power failure it has lost its mode and temperature setting. The program restores these and all is then well. I like the idea of leaving the batteries in place. That might address my problem with an alternative approach. I will try that.
  17. My sincere thanks. I have a wireless Insteon thermostat that get numerous power failures. I use a program to reset the mode and temperature setting and it displays the correct temperature within a minute or two. Sounds like these tstats are going to meet my needs. I will assess other details such as my systems, number of wires, etc. and, if all goes well, install as a winter project.

I am assessing the usefulness of the subject thermostat(s) to my application. We are frequently away from home and, following power outages, the day/time data become inaccurate. When I program the ISY and use day/time, will the program use the incorrect data in the thermostat or will it ignore the data in the thermostat and use day/time data from the ISY? Will the ISY be able to manage months/years at some point in the future? What about temperature data obtained using the weather module? Thanks.
  19. It will be 2 weeks before I can get to this.
  20. I will assess that option tomorrow.
  21. Thanks all. The reason for the desired change-out is that I have a SynchroLinc plugged into the Outdoor Module in a cellar location. My problem is that the design of the Outdoor Module is such that the SynchroLinc will only partially plug into it making a fragile connection. If I have to, I will simply modify my few programs to incorporate the replacement device.
  22. I didn't think so, but before I started needlessly "chasing my tail" I decided to check with the forum.
  23. I would like to replace an Outdoor Module (2634-222) with an On/Off Module (2635-222). After I linked the On/ff module I Control-Clicked; Mac) the Outdoor Module and the Replace option did not appear. Before I start chasing this, is the On/Off Module an approved replacement?
