  1. Thanks for the feedback. I have emailed Honeywell with the recommendation that they provide the ability for the ISY to integrate with the subject thermostat. It will be interesting to see if I get a response. If I do, I will post it.
  2. I read the entire thread regarding the prospects for integration of the RTH9580WF into the ISY and can't discern what the status of this is. I have two of these thermostats and, for the most part, they do what I need them to do using my Mac and iPhone. However, management my ISY would further enhance their ease of use and power. Could someone fill me in on where things stand?
  3. Ignore the above post, I was able to get the update done with the most recent version of JAVA.
  4. My Admin Console has been opening slowly so I decided to update to 4.3.26. I deleted the JAVA cache and, of course the desktop Admin Console icon disappeared. I then went to the instructions to download 4.3.26. There. I saw the Mac instructions with reference to an older JAVA version (I have 1.8.0_66 running on 10.10.5)). That raises the question, what are the download instructions for the version of JAVA that I have? I am currently stranded so any help will be appreciated,
  5. These look promising and within the range of my abilities. Thanks.
  6. After doing a bit of research this appears to be "out of my league". I will wait until, hopefully, something comes along that does not require such a learning curve.
  7. Thanks. I copied your instructions. I will have to do some research since I am unfamiliar with "network resource", "rest" and the ISY portal.
  8. I don't have that module but would be willing to invest in it. Procedurally, how complex would it be to send a command from the secondary residence to a BuzzLinc or 2867-222 at the primary residence when an event (door open, etc) occurs at the secondary residence?
  9. I have a second home located 325 miles from my primary residence. The doors to that residence all have Hidden Door Sensors which send an email if a door is opened. Water is supplied from a well pump and that is also configured to send an email both when it runs and when it turns off. Finally, there are Insteon cameras which send photos by email if motion is detected. All this is great, but it doesn't serve me well while I am sleeping. I have a BuzzLinc in my primary residence and it alerts me if a door is opened or motion is detected at night. I have been assessing comments on the new 2867-222 to see if it might be useful. All this takes me to my question of you experts. Is there now or will there be in the near future a way to have a signal sent from our second home to the primary residence which would activate a BuzzLinc or a 2867-222? If so, that would meet a very significant need. Primary Residence - ISY 994i IR Pro Secondary Residence - ISY 994i

I am finding this approach confusing. Is there now, or do you envision there ever will be, a way for the end user to customize the list of those things to be controlled? Are scenes and/or programs currently eligible for inclusion or only devices?
  11. I appreciate all the feedback. First, Xathros. you are correct the intended time was 30 minutes. Second, after struggling with this for hours and having done one previously without issue, I factory reset the device. Problem solved! You can bet I am going to factory reset all new devices before starting an install. Program is finished and works beautifully.
  12. I want the motion sensor to display an ON status in the Admin Console when motion is detected. I want the following program to control a light if motion is detected in the timeframe indicated: Deck Door Sensor (Night) - [iD 0019][Parent 0001] If From Sunset - 30 seconds To Sunrise - 30 seconds (next day) And Status 'Motion Sensors / Deck Motion Sensor / Deck Motion Detector-Sensor' is On Then Set 'Deck Light (TL)' On Wait 10 minutes Set 'Deck Light (TL)' Off Else Set 'Deck Light (TL)' Off I have been unable to get the motion sensor to show nothing but an ON status in the Admin Console. What settings do I need for this? Timeout: ? LED Brightness: ? Darkness Sensitivity: ? Sensing Mode: ? LED On: ? On Commands Only: ? Night Only: ?
  13. Michel: MacBook Pro Yosemite 10.10.5 Firewall turned off. FileVault turned off. There is no firewall in place.
  14. My Admin Console times out after a relatively brief period of inactivity and there is no indication this has occurred. That is, you can be thinking you are doing work in the console only to find that none of your work was actually processed. Ultimately, I get the password window and when I enter my credentials all is well again. Is there a setting to extend the time before a timeout? I would prefer the Admin Console remain open and active until I make a decision to close it.
  15. I just checked and the devices in question are red whereas controllers in scenes are bright red. I had not picked up on that distinction.
  16. Firmware and UI are both 4.2.30
  17. I appreciate the feedback. I factory reset one of the devices and it linked as a controller! That, given the feedback, causes me to conclude that the color of the icons is of no concern from an operational perspective. Sure would be nice if this "bug" were addressed so the display convention remained consistent for all devices.
  18. No, its not. I preemptively replaced an "old" PLM in a location which I will not visit for the next 5 months. Of course, I used the latest version. I received replacement caps from mouser today and will replace the caps in the old PLM with those recommended on this forum. Hopefully, the repaired PLM will be durable for the long haul.
  19. Both. They are red in the scenes and as devices. Weird. And, as I noted previously, nothing is shown as being controlled by these devices.
  20. I did and it loaded as a controller, i.e., red.
  21. Yes, that was the first thing I did. Another thing, the devices that are not red have a bulb shaped icon. Those that are red have a rectangle shaped box next to them.
  22. I have 3 modules used to control Christmas Lights. These 3 show up red in the device tree. An inspection of the device's information shows them correctly as responders. The "Controller for" field is blank. I may be just having a senior moment buy why are the devices red?

To be fair, a company has many costs in addition to that of manufacturing, not the least of which is labor. Labor involved in engineering, design, facilities, marketing, warehousing, sales, insurance, after sales support, defective product replacement, etc. Nevertheless, there are glaring examples of price gouging such as the KPL custom buttons. The company is aware that the market for these buttons is relatively small and thus competition is extremely unlikely. They also know that such buttons are highly desirable, thus, the current price point. My guess is that if sales of the buttons decline to a point where Smarthome's overall profit margin is less than it was at the lower price point, they will lower their price. The law of supply and demand at work. The best way for us to help them make that decision is simply not to buy the custom buttons while at their current price point. I have done that.

Teken: You and I are definitely in agreement on the custom KPL keys. At $20 they were too pricey! At $50, absurd!
  25. Larry: You stimulated my diminishing gray matter and I did the following with success: Created a scene: Family Room KPLA Controller Chandelier (Upstairs Up) Responder Kitchen Lights (Hallway) Responder Dad's Bedtime - [iD 0029][Parent 0001] If Status 'Family Room KPL / FR KPL A (Bedtime)' is On Then Set Scene 'Family Room Scenes / Dad's Bedtime' On Set 'Dad's Bedroom (TL)' On Wait 1 second Set 'Family Room KPL / FR KPL 1 (Light On and Off)' Off Wait 2 minutes Set Scene 'Family Room Scenes / Dad's Bedtime' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Many thanks! I created a similar program "Arise" in my bedroom and life has been made simpler.
