  1. I will post an update when I try my setup. I, too will be interested in ISY integration when I finally decide if these are the course I want to follow. I have previously recommended to Smarthome that they develop devices to address the need for temperature/humidity measurement in harsh environments (attics/crawl spaces. etc.). Thus far, I see nothing on the horizon.
  2. Oh well, I just ordered he Tag Manager and the pro sensor. Sounds like it is pretty much DOA and far as my mailbox is concerned. Will give it a try.
  3. I have been using a wait of 25 hours. I increased this to 28 hours and see what happens.
  4. Finally discovered what was wrong. The Wireless Sensor Tag (with temperature) has only a quantity option. The temperature/humidity tag has the waterproof option!!!! If I had hair I would have pulled it out by now!
  5. I cannot find the drop down to select the tag type.
  6. Thanks.
  7. MWareman: What is the name/source of the waterproof tags? My searches have not indicated that CAO makes any that are waterproof.
  8. Thanks. They are inexpensive so I think I will give the technology a try. If it works it will potentially address a number of Insteon technology vacuums.
  9. I was unfamiliar with wireless tags until the foregoing posts. I researched a bit and did not find a lot of useful information. I would appreciate users of that technology to post pro's and con's here and, particularly, the application I described. Looks like it might meet my desire to monitor temperature in refrigerator/freezers and the home as well..

    lost console

I am all too familiar with that feeling! Glad all worked out well for you.
  11. Teken: I suspect the program may be the problem: If Control Door Sensor Heartbeat is switched On Or Heartbeat is switched Off Then Send notification to me If this is the problem would you be so kind as to show me the correct manner to handle this?
  12. I have had two of the subject devices in service for a couple of years. After a couple months each starts sending low battery notifications. The most recent of these occurred last week for a device in which I replaced the battery on 12/23/16 using an Energizer Advanced Lithium AA. Yesterday I replaced that battery and because it had lasted less than 1 1/2 months decided to check its voltage. It was 1.77 volts! This raises the obvious question, why are these devices sending erroneous low battery notifications? The other device has also reported a low battery condition and the door it monitors has not been opened since the battery was installed in November, 2016. I have several Hidden Door Sensors on doors that are opened numerous times each day and they typically last about a year! I am convinced that something is amiss in the low battery notifications for the Open/Close sensors. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to resolve it?
  13. Thanks, Gordon. I do some research into your approach.
  14. Taken et al: There is a one brick thickness on both sides and the rear of the mailbox. What is the likelihood that an Open/Close Sensor might work? I have one at another location that communicates through a wooden door and the wall of a frame house with aluminum siding (~ 120 feet). I kept digging and a Mail Chime 1200 looks like it might work to notify but will not send email. I guess that might have to be my drop back position. At least that, if it works, would keep me from having to walk to the box when I am home. As to the magnetic sensor. Can it be used on a paved surface?
  15. Thanks, Teken. For me to do something like that would entail drilling through the mortar and thus into the mailbox. I am hopeful there is an alternative, less difficult approach. I am doubtful there is but I felt there was better place to ask then here.
  16. My mailbox is located approximately 60 feet from the nearest dualband device. As you can see, the box is metal and is encased in a brick/mortar structure. I would prefer an Insteon solution that I could use with my ISY 994i to seemail notifications when mail arrives and, perhaps, sound a notification with my Buzzlinc (thanks Stu). Do you know of a way this can be done? I have researched this unsuccessfully thus far.
  17. While there are ways to monitor temperature in freezers/refrigerators/attics/residential crawl spaces and the like there is no Insteon device available that is designed for this purpose. This seems to me to be a great business opportunity for Smarthome and something that I and many others would purchase. If you agree, I encourage you to go to http://forum.insteon.com/forum/main-category/new-insteon-device-wish-list and show your support. Recently announced improvements in the motion sensor seem to indicate Smarthome listens to user needs/wants. A device meeting this need and a robust PLM as advocated by Teken at the subject site would be welcome.
  18. The help and support given me by UDI, this forum and Wes at MobiLinc have been instrumental in enabling me to better utilize my home automation system. All too frequently Smarthome provides inadequate information relative to the setup and utilization of their otherwise excellent devices. Wes (MobiLinc) recently exchanged several emails with me to walk me through setup of Smarthome's high definition camera. If you want exceptional products and extraordinary customer support following the sale, you won't find better companies than these.
  19. I did not know the "write update" feature was operative without the device being in linking mode.
  20. I have repeatedly complained about having to take the old unit down and detach the back simply to put it into linking mode. Thanks, Smarthome. If user testing proves solid, these will join my arsenal.
  21. Happy New Year and thanks for your responsiveness to your customers' needs. You and your team are amazing.

    Java 2+

Thanks for your continued commitment to making this a high priority.
  24. Merry Christmas and blessings to all of you!
  25. That is great news. I absolutely love my Honeywells. They are great stats and very attractive. I am a big fan of the ISY and Insteon but the Insteon thermostats are "dogs". Want to know what I really think? : )
