  1. Oops! I did this while away. Darn! Oh, well.
  2. That is something I did not know. I will download and install that firmware and delete the JAVA cache.
  3. I rebooted the ISY from the Configuration Tab in the Admin Console. I then loaded the system from the Admin Console and the programs did not reappear. I waited a couple minutes, reloaded from the Admin console again and the programs were there! Thanks for the help. Now, if the PLM will survive for the next 4 months I will be able to change it. You guys are the best.
  4. Thanks, Paul. Now, let's see what happens.
  5. Pardon me for missing something: Under the File menu in the Admin Console the only options I have are: Backup ISY Restore ISY Restore Devices Restore Modem Delete Modem There is no option to reboot the ISY remotely that I can find. I continued poking around and saw a Reboot button under the Configuration tab. Is that it?
  6. One of the "invisible programs" just ran and I received notification. That is a plus but I would feel far more comfortable if I could see them in the ISY.
  7. I will change the PLM as soon as I get there in 4 months. There is a "Restore ISY" option available under the File menu. Will executing that option affect the battery devices?
  8. If the new company, Smarthome, does not aggressively address this and other issues, I will do that as the need arises and the Zwave device is the more superior of the two. There are some devices I love, e.g., the KPLs, that have no Zwave equivalent. Plus, as I go down that path I am aware that device communications will be an issue. As I see it, the home automation game is significantly changing and competition is going to become more prevalent. The PLM is, to me, a no brainer and why Insteon has not addressed it astounds me. It is almost as if they were inviting erosion of a significant portion of their customer base.
  9. The firmware and ui are both 4.6.2 The PLM is itself a replacement which supposedly was more durable than its predecessor. The PLM is 26 months old. How do I remotely reboot the ISY????
  10. Yes, but my investment in Insteon is so large as to make that impractical.
  11. I have an ISY that is located more then 300 miles from my primary residence. A few day ago I stated getting erroneous multiple email messages from a hidden door sensor that the door had been opened. After that happened a couple of times, a program failed to run that reports temperature. I also had a SyncroLinc erroneously twice report that a well pump had run. Today, I accessed that ISY and saw that all the programs in the program tree had disappeared. It is evident that the PLM has died. This is no longer just a nuisance. It is for me a critical failure. I will not return to that location for 4 months! The fact that I have numerous battery powered devices makes replacement of the PLM something that my elderly handyman could not manage for me. Fortunately, I can, at this time, still access the device tree and manually execute important actions but whether or not any programs will continue to run is doubtful given that one did not run this morning. Of course, I am also concerned that the PLM will completely fail. Smarthome needs to address this issue now!!! We need a dependable PLM! I, for one, am sick and tired of reading over and over again about failing PLMs and experiencing my own failures. In situations such as mine where great distances are involved I can foresee where such failures could have consequences that result in more than mere nuisances. I know that UDI once wanted to produce a reliable PLM but Smarthome blocked that path. I encourage UDI to make that request once again. Teken, et al, I long ago endorsed the request for such a PLM but I have seen nothing that even suggests that Smarthome is doing anything to address that request.
  12. My thanks to all. Will make the purchase and get started.
  13. As you can tell by this post, I am slow to transition to new technology. I am now seriously considering adding the Echo, primarily for the purpose of controlling Insteon devices and programs using verbal commands. My question is this, have you found your system easy to set up but, more importantly, does it execute commands with few, if any, problems? I have KPLs at convenient locations around the house but there are times when my hands are full or I am seated, hat a verbal command would be very useful. I would appreciate your feedback.
  14. Stu: That was a great catch. The number of links is a limitation i had long since forgotten.
  15. I activated a bunch of LampLincs recently for Christmas. They are all part of the same scene. I have always found that one or more can be problematic therefore I programmed two on commands separated by 3 seconds and did the same for off commands. Only rarely will one of the devices fail to respond. I am at a loss to suggest what to do. Have you tried placing them in the scene and testing one at a time?
  16. I use the iolinc/relay approach and it has served me beautifully. My pump is 120v and I use an Insteon device to control the power to the relay. The location is a vacation home and, if the pump comes on when I am away, I get a notification. I then can cut the power to the relay and, thus, to the pump. I could automatically cut power to the pump using my ISY but I have decided to reserve that decision to myself.
  17. I have found Wes to be amazing in his responsiveness to problems. I am very happy with MobiLinc and have been for years.
  18. Thanks: I logged out and back in. Problem solved.
  19. The Notification icon at the top pf the page has a red five adjacent to it. When I click on the icon it will not open.
  20. Where is the check valve? The pump should not lose prime.
  21. Let me echo your sentiments about UDI. I have never known a company with comparable quality service.
  22. Although I am a novice in their use, I have found the CAO tags excellent at reporting temperature. As to whether they can be set up to report through the ISY, I don't know. They are readily accessible using an app. They are cloud based so some will criticize that as a limitation but, thus far, I have had no problems whatsoever. A final plus for me is their amazing range, hundreds of feet under the best conditions. I am just starting to test them to detect door openings. So far, that has been very promising. They are tiny devices that use CR2032 batteries. There is a thread on this forum that addresses the tags. You may want to check it out.
  23. Thanks. I am heading home tomorrow and as soon as I see what this hurricane is going to do I will give this a shot. I hope I can count on you guys when I get into the midst of this.
  24. I very much appreciate the feedback, as always. But, as I had feared, this is a complex process involving skills I simply do not have. I had a terrible time just learning how to forward a port! This, to me, is the area needing the greatest attention by OS and App developers.
  25. I have two ISYs located over 300 miles apart. Currently, I use notifications to advise me of leaks, open doors, etc. That works fine except when I am asleep. Is there a way to have a device in one home activate device(s) in the other home. For example, a leak or open door in one home cause the lights in the other bedroom to flash on and off and/or activate a BuzzLinc. That would alert me at night. Thanks.
