HELP! - May have wiped Polisy Pro clean - need a way to fix
Thanks - that works - you also have to delete the nodeserver on the ISY, then restart Polyglot - then the node server disappears - one strange thing, the MyQ (12) nodeserver got deleted but something re-created the folder - I am going to try and re-delete

HELP! - May have wiped Polisy Pro clean - need a way to fix
OK so I went ahead and restored an old backup which had 10 of my 12 nodeservers and things are mostly back, however, I cannot delete and re-install node servers 11 and 12 because they were added after the backup - can someone tell me how to delete corrupted nodeservers from my configuration?

HELP! - May have wiped Polisy Pro clean - need a way to fix
I was not able to log into my Polisy Pro so I SSH'ed and did this procedure from the Wiki sudo service mongod status. If it's not running, then: sudo rm -rf /var/db/mongodb sudo reboot Now, I can't get any status on my nodeservers - although it seems they are running from the ISY's standpoint - my login credentials have reverted back to admin/admin - haven't backed up the Polisy in a long while - is there a way to fix this without re-installing and re-configuring all my node servers? (I had 12 nodeservers)

Everything (almost) turns on randomly and I don't know why
I have an almost fully automated home - almost every light and fan switch is an Insteon dimmer or on/off switch - I have been experiencing an annoying problem for some time now - sometimes (almost) everything in the house turns on at once; this includes lighting, ceiling fans, bathroom fans and plug-in on/off modules. When this happens, it seems to be an Insteon broadcast type of command doing this because it is virtually instantaneous - I have no idea why this is happening, nor how to reproduce or capture the event in the ISY. The only consistency that I have observed is that it is far more likely to happen during the day when people are moving about inside the house, opening doors and turning things on and off. I can only recall 1 time where it happened in the middle of the night. I do have a few motion sensors which are not themselves in any scenes - I rely on programs to turn on lights via motion. Also, I do not have any scenes containing all of the equipment that turns on, which is strange. The largest scenes that I have are for lighting only (Interior, Exterior, Upstairs, Downstairs) - then I have scenes for all Ceiling Fans, and all bathroom Fans. Motion detectors are NOT tied to scenes because I have different programs for late night vs daytime behavior (I don't want any blinding light turning on in the middle of the night). BTW - I have both an ISY994 with IR/Z-Wave, a Polisy Pro running several nodeservers and about 10-12 Z-Wave devices. This problem occurs intermittently, sometimes I have seen it happen as often as 2x a day, but then sometimes it won't happen for 1-2 weeks. My theory is that there is an Insteon message being sent by the ISY and some bits get corrupted and the message gets interpreted as some kind of global ON message. Any suggestions on how to debug/capture the event causing this? Or how to perhaps avoid it? (Should I remove scenes containing a lot of devices?) Or programmatic ways of detection and mitigation?

Schlage 469 Locks, Aeotec Gen5, 6 repeaters Z-Wave issues
I have 3 Schlage BE469 locks (old z-wave); all three will respond to nightly commands to ensure that the doors are locked, and they can be queried from the ISY; however 2 have some kind of communications issues and 1 of those 2 is draining batteries a lot faster than the others. The ISY is right next to one of the locks and that one appears to communicate fine. The other 2, not so much. I do have 1 Aeotec Gen6 repeater and two Aeotec Gen5 repeaters, one GE Enbrighten motion switch and a GE On/Off module to assist with communications, but they don't seem to be helping much. I did a synchronize nodes->all and got the output below (edited to remove various Polisy node servers) - two of the locks did not complete the operation; can anyone tell anything from the event viewer file attached? (zw002=Gen6 repeater, zw003, zw004=gen5 repeater, zw006=on/off module, zw007=GE enbrighten switch, zw008=near lock, zw009,zw010=far locks) ISY-Events-Log.v5.3.0__Thu 2021.01.28 08.42.19 AM-ZWAVE-ONLY.txt

ISY default smtp server (offline?)
I can successfully use my gmail account, but I really don't want to make it less secure via the required setting, nor do I want to create confusion with a 2nd gmail account linked to my same phone number, alternative e-mail, etc. I tried creating a Yahoo account, but that isn't working - they no longer appear to have the option to use "less secure apps". Does anyone else have Yahoo working? If so, can you advise how to turn on the "less secure apps" option? Otherwise I will use the alternative ISY server.

ISY default smtp server (offline?)
Can someone elaborate on the gmail setting (below) required for the ISY? What does this do exactly? Why is this required? Click on Security in the list on the left and scroll down to Less secure app access Click on Turn on by clicking the toggle

100 Packages Available for Update
I guess 100 is not that big a number after all - I did the updates and everything looks OK so far...
-
100 Packages Available for Update
I did a Polisy: System->Check for Updates and I see that 100 Packages are available for update. Normally I try to keep the Polisy up to date, but I have never seen so many items to update - I am a bit concerned about breaking something when performing all of these updates - is anyone else seeing this? If so has anyone performed this massive update?

Settings->Polisy Configuration hangs and System->Check for Polisy Update problem
I just checked the Polisy again and the problem has resurfaced. I checked all the obvious things - cleared browser cache, rebooted the Polisy, logged out, logged in,etc. The strange thing is that I have not updated the Polisy since applying the SSH fix a few days ago. Anyone else seeing the two issues again?

Settings->Polisy Configuration hangs and System->Check for Polisy Update problem
In my case, I was in my house, on a PC on the same LAN as the Polisy I just opened an SSH session to the IP address of the Polisy I had to use the default username: admin password: admin

Settings->Polisy Configuration hangs and System->Check for Polisy Update problem
Michel K. helped me to fix the problems - I hope he doesn't mind me sharing this here - you have to be somewhat technical I use the program Putty for SSH - procedure is below: 1. Ssh to Polisy 2. curl -s https://pkg.isy.io/script/update121.sh | sudo bash Then I followed the instructions to reboot after the script completed, performing a "sudo shutdown -r now" (script will tell you what to type, I am guessing from memory - may be different) This appeared to be an alternative means of updating the Polisy and it fixed both issues

Hi Michael, Thanks for the reply - I did try clearing the cache and 3 different browsers but no luck - this problem has me stumped

Settings->Polisy Configuration hangs and System->Check for Polisy Update problem
I've had the Polisy Pro for quite some time now and it is generally working well, but recently, I have noticed some generic problems (in the title) - (1) When I go to Settings->Polisy Configuration, it says "Please wait, getting configuration..." indefinitely. I honestly forgot what the menu is supposed to look like if it ever updates, but I am pretty sure its not supposed to hang- Also (2), when I go to System->Check for Polisy Update, it no longer displays a message indicating if an update is available or not. It does display the green box saying that it "Sent upgrade check command to Polisy..." but there are no subsequent boxes displayed. I was in the process of documenting my Polisy setup by pasting screen captures into a MS-Word document when I noticed these issues. Running 10 nodeservers. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Forgot to mention, running V2.2.9-5 on the Polisy and V5.3.0 on the ISY

Release 5.2.0 (RC3) - OUTDATED
I have also upgraded from the 300 to 500 series module and upgraded from v5.1 to v5.2 - everything went extremely well with the 300 to 500 upgrade and the v5.2 update, except 1 z-wave device is not working at all - any suggestions (link below)? https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/30585-aeotec-gen-5-siren-not-working-after-z-wave-module-upgrade-to-500-series/

Release 5.2.0 (RC3) - OUTDATED
It looks like UDI is going to offer a discount on a 500 series module to those of us with the 300. Looking at UDI's online store, they also have an external z-wave module - I am wondering if that is also a replacement option that could perform better than the 500 series. Anyone know about this? EDIT: not an option - found this: https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/28001-new-external-zwave-module/ I would also be very interested on the time frame for moving the ISY to the Polisy and the future Polisy z-wave module - can anyone from UDI comment on this?
-
Release 5.2.0 (RC3) - OUTDATED
Completely understand. Ironically, a couple of weeks ago, after encountering 5.1 upgrade issues, I did a factory reset on the z-wave dongle and re-enrolled everything to get it working with version 5.1.0 - and since then, z-wave operation has been noticeably improved vs. the previous few years.
-
Release 5.2.0 (RC3) - OUTDATED
+1 - I am hoping UDI makes this right - first the Climate Module goes away and now my z-wave module along with z-wave locks, sensors and switches - if someone finds out what they are offering - please post
-
Release 5.1.0 (RC2) is now available
Well, I tried synchronize all and it deleted all of my z-wave equipment; so I went back to v5.1, did a factory reset of the z-wave dongle and re-enrolled everything and now it's working - actually working well so far... fortunately I don't have a lot of z-wave stuff - I would not be happy if I did
-
Release 5.1.0 (RC2) is now available
Complete disaster over here - I upgraded and the few z-wave devices that I have stopped working (3 locks, 2 repeaters, 2 sirens, 1 motion detector switch) - I backed up, then tried to synchronize, didn't work - went back to v5.016C and restored the backup, tried multiple resets and still nothing works - any suggestions? errors below: at 08/08/2020 03:06:26 PM : [n003_harmonyctrl] DON 0 Sat Ring Nodeserver - Ring account won't authorize even though credentials are correct (and 2 factor working)
Nevermind, typing in the 2 factor authentication code erases the password, so it has to be re-entered. Not sure why I had to re-authorize - Ring was setup many weeks ago and working.

Ring Nodeserver - Ring account won't authorize even though credentials are correct (and 2 factor working)
I had the Ring working via ISY Portal and the Cloud Nodeserver + Polisy Pro but today I noticed a blue prompt on the dashboard saying "Please click here to authorize access to your Ring account". Strange, because I already had authorized access to the Ring account and it was working. So perhaps some update that I did to the Polisy Pro broke it? Not sure what happened, but regardless, when I put in my valid credentials and the code for 2 factor authentications that I get on my phone it says "invalid e-mail or password" - yet I can login to the main Ring page this way. Long story short, I had it working; I did nothing to change any settings and now it doesn't work (won't authorize). Any suggestions here?

ISY and Harmony Elite
Can someone elaborate on how to create fake Hue bulbs? I want to be able to run a program when the dedicated harmony companion home control buttons are pressed. I can do this right now using a real physical light (scene). Basically the button (via the hue emulator) will turn on/off a scene where a light is set to 10%. When the light is set to 10% brightness, a program gets triggered - but it would be better to not have to modify a real scene, rather a fake bulb or something. So, can someone explain how to create a virtual/fake hue bulb?

What do I lose by creating ISY nodes with DSC motion sensors?
One issue is the battery DSC motion sensors like I have have a built in delay of something like 6 seconds - if that is not a problem then they could be used. The security MD batteries last a long time. An in-wall solution, if you can wire power to it, is to use a GE enbrighten Z-Wave motion sensor switch.
