As Teken pointed out, it's going to be quite rare that someone would target a house that has an Insteon network. They'd have to be on my physical property in order to get a signal, which means I'd see them on my video surveillance. I don't have any red necks but I have a lot of old seniors with their oxygen tanks. I doubt they even have a cell phone (maybe a jitterbug), so that doesn't worry me. I don't use insteom for any security related actions. I use a DSC alarm, all hardwired.

I too would like to see how you be done this. I setup a wink for a friend and the UI of the app was much better than anything currently available for the ISY. If there is a way to use the Wink to control the ISY, I'd like to see it.

Fortunately, this has only happened once in the past two years. Unfortunately, it would be very difficult to try and intentionally produce this issue. I checked the logs at midnight and nothing was happening before of after. That is a quiet time around my house and the ISY doesn't do a query until 3AM. If I unplug my PLM from the wall and let the program run at midnight, it would still show a log entry for the program. As IndyMike mentioned, I should have had a log entry. I'll have to keep an eye on this one. My Missed Schedule Grace Period is set to 10 minutes. I don't know if this matters, but I wonder if there could be a possibility where the ISY was frozen during the time of the schedule and it was missed.

What I am saying is that the log is NOT showing that the program ran, but the program summary page showed the program DID run. If the log is correct and the program didn't run (even though the program summary page said it did) then of course the scene wouldn't respond. I don't see why the PLM has anything to do with this if the ISY logs show the ISY "forgot" to run my program.

The PLM is v9B and is 14 months old. There first scene has 4 devices, and second scene has 2 devices. Both scene tests succeeded on all devices. Here is what I would normally see in the log when the program runs correctly and the scene turns off: Scene:Outside Lights Off Wed 2015/07/29 12:00:00 AM Program Scene:Outside Landscaping Off Wed 2015/07/29 12:00:00 AM Program Upstairs / Stairway Keypad Light / Stairway Keypad - Outside Lig Status Wed 2015/07/29 12:00:00 AM System Downstairs / Laundry Keypad - Light / Laundry Keypad - Outside Ligh Status Wed 2015/07/29 12:00:00 AM System Outside / Front Door Outside Light Status Wed 2015/07/29 12:00:00 AM System Outside / Outside Garage Lights Status Wed 2015/07/29 12:00:00 AM System Outside / Palm Tree Lights Status Wed 2015/07/29 12:00:00 AM System Outside / Royal Palm Light Status Wed 2015/07/29 12:00:00 AM System The first two logs show the scene ran from a program. The next six logs show the status of each device for the scene. When this scene didn't run, I had nothing, nada, no log of anything, yet the program summary shows the program had run at midnight. Had the devices failed to respond, or the PLM was failing, wouldn't the first two logs still show the scene ran from a program? (As you said, the ISY doesn't know the status of the scene, so it would record the scene ran regardless of the outcome) Thanks, Christopher

There were 4 devices in the scene, and all 4 were on this morning when they should have been off. I believe this issue is not related to communication, as the event log doesn't even show that the scene was triggered. Let's say the issue was communication and the 4 devices all didn't respond to the scene, I would suspect that the scene would still show in the log that it was ran.

I've had the same program the past two years that would turn my lights off at 11:59:59 (midnight) Outside Lights Off - [ID 0004][Parent 0001] If Time is 11:59:59PM Then Set Scene 'Outside Lights' Off Set Scene 'Outside Landscaping' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Today I woke up and all my lights were still on. I checked the Programs Summary tab and saw that the program ran and finished at 12:00:00 midnight. I checked the Log in excel and there was not a single entry for either of the scenes being triggered or the status of the devices in the scene. The same program (but set for ON) ran correctly at 8PM and it showed in the log. Has anybody ever had issues with the reliability of running a program and it not actually triggering the scene?

Is there a reason as to why we cannot replace a SwitchLinc Dimmer with a SwitchLinc On/Off? I had to replace a bad dimmer with a spare on/off and it will take hours re-doing all my scenes and programs for this particular switch.

Can anybody else confirm a limitation on the amount of devices supported? As soon as I add my 22nd device the Echo is not able to discover any devices at all. Once I remove the 22nd device, it will suddenly discover all of the other 21 devices.
-
Then why does the product description of the Aeon extender state "It will NOT repeat the signal for door locks which use encrypted Z-Wave protocol" ?
-
This is good to know, especially since the Aeon repeater specifically states that it doesn't repeat encrypted communication. Looks like I'll be buying a siren to extend the signal to my locks!
-
Most zwave door locks use the encrypted protocol? The Aeon repeater doesn't support repeating of encrypted communication. Does the siren support this?

I tried restarting the emulator, the server, the echo, deleting the devices from the echo app, even running the emulator on a different computer, all without success. I deleted the data folder and started to add the devices over again. A new data folder was created and the echo found the devices. Something is causing the database to be corrupt, as bgrubb1 mentioned. I'll have to re-create all my devices again. EDIT: After recreating all my devices, I had the same issue. I came to realize that as soon as I add my 22nd device, that none of the devices are discoverable. I guess I'll have to keep it at 21 devices right now.
-
Has anybody had any issues with their devices showing as offline in the Echo app? All my devices were initially discovered successfully, and they all work fine, but they are showing as offline. Any future devices that I add and try to discover do not get discovered. In the cmd console, I see that there are upnp discovery requests from the IP address of my Echo when I try to discover the devices.

Thanks Lee, I've got probably over 100 Insteon devices in the house, and all are dual band. There are about 8 dual band switches within 10 feet of the fanlinc in the same room. Do you still think a range extender would do anything? As far as programming to avoid this, do you mean creating a program that says if the fan is turned off between 3am and 3:01am, then turn it back on? I understand there is a duplicate response for the light, but shouldn't the ISY understand that this is for the light, and not the fan motor? As Jimbo mentioned, I think if the ISY slowed down the query rate, this would reduce the amount of overlapping traffic on the network and most likely avoid this issue. But even so, I still don't believe this issue should be occurring.

At around 3AM today the fan went off during the query. I was able to capture the log in verbose mode. I've attached the log as a text file. My fanlinc address is 23.10.66 I have 3 keypad Links that have the capability of controlling the fan, here are their addresses: Keypadlinc 1 address is 25.0D.F2 Keypadlinc 2 address is 1C.DE.35 Keypadlinc 3 address is 2F.BB.B6 In the logs, you will see at around 3:30 AM the fan was turned on. This is when I was starting to get hot and realized the fan was off, so I turned it back on. The ID of the program that turns ON the "fan off" scene is 0075. (The Fan Off scene will detect if the fan motor is off from the fanlinc. If the motor is off, then it turns the "Fan Off" scene to on, which will make sure the high/medium/low buttons on the keypad are off, and the the "off" button on the keypad is light up ( this is the 4 button fan keypad set). Thanks again for the help! Log.txt

Hi LeeG, Thank you for the thorough posts. I've set my logs to LEVEL 3. Hopefully within the next few days it occurs again. I checked each program and there is nothing for the heartbeat. You are correct about the heartbeat, it is not necessary to check so often, and I have no idea why I left it at the default 10 seconds. I just increased that time by 10 fold. Once this happens again I will post back with the Level 3 logs. Thanks!

That is for my alarm system heartbeat. Here is a screenshot of the heartbeat going back and forth: http://screencast.com/t/ojNlIAcK8

This morning at 3AM the fan randomly turned off again. It is not happening every night, only sometimes. Here is the log: http://screencast.com/t/uP6jOucWX The ID of the fan is the 23.10.66

I use IIS and was able to proxy successfully. Only thing that doesn't work is the device statuses in MobiLinc. In Apache, make sure to enable mod_header RewriteEngine On <Location /bridge/> ProxyPass http://myIsy994 ProxyPassReverse http://myIsy994 RequestHeader unset referer </Location>

SSL and 2048 encryption slowing down initial connection to ISY994
MustangChris04 replied to toddhutch's topic in ISY994
I have issues with MobilLinc sending commands to devices through SSL, sometimes it takes upwards of 30-45 seconds for each command. It is able to read the devices without any issues. Not sure if it is supposed to take this long, but that is what I’ve been accustomed to, which is why I don't even use the application. Through a reverse poxy the connection is almost instant, although the status of devices through the subscription method doesn’t work. -
Teken, In the firmware thread, it had the following as part of the directions. 2. Please login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Automatically Upgrade [the name of your system] Or, if yo wish to actually download the firmware and install it manually:
-
I saw this yesterday. Never seen it before either. I had to manually do the upgrade. I was missing the automatic upgrade that was mentioned in the instructions for the firmware thread. Any reason I'd be missing the option for the auto upgrade?

I don't think it is anymore difficult than changing out a door lock. Here is a video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fyUWbaUvv8I automatedshadestore.com is a reliable place to purchase the motor. I emailed them a while back because I needed 10 motors and they had a small discount for multiple quantities.
