You'll need a Somfy WireFree RTS Tilt Motor for 2" Blinds and a ZRTSI zwave bridge. I am not sure if the ISY supports multichannels on the ZRTSI. I've asked this question in another thread. I'm running into an issue with the wirefree tilt motor not fitting in the header of my blinds. You need at least 90mm of length from the end of the frame to the first drum and all my blinds only have 70mm. Here is the directions so you can see if this is compatible: http://www.automatedshadeinc.com/files/controls-somfy/new_tilt_wirefree_fabrication_instructions-8-2008.pdf

I would try making sure java is up-to-date and that your certificate is on your trusted list.

I'll do the designs if you'll get the programming done. My development team uses phonegap for our in house apps and I do the UI.

To send files that can be downloaded with Pushover, is that just a URL to my server where the image is located, or can it actually be embedded in the message? Their FAQ only shows the support of a few HTML tags for text formatting. I like being able to see the image without clicking on the hyperlink, which is why MMS has been great (except for the delay, or if I'm out of the country I don't get it) I also want to remove as much overhead as possible by not having to save the images. Currently, as soon as I send the MMS, the picture is delved from my server.

This is a great idea, thanks for sharing! I guess my next project I'm going to do is inventory each device I have along with their ID, location, purchase price, and receipt. This will come in handy next time I have to place a warranty replacement, or an insurance claim.

Thanks LeeG. I tried to get the logs this morning but the fan didn't turn off at 3AM like it normally does! Quite strange, but I'll leave the logs running for next time it happens.

I started using Pushover for push notifications using the email gateway and it has worked quite well but there is still sometimes a delay from the ISY. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything in the API to include images. Does anybody know of a push notification application that supports including images?

I have a program setup to turn a scene "on" if my fanlinc status is set to "off". The scene is designed to turn off a status led on a keypad so I know the fan is off when it is turned off. The program is working correctly. When I turn the fanlinc off, the program runs correctly and the "Fan Off" status light turns on. The issue is when the 3AM query hits, the scene is turned ON (even when the IF condition of this program is not met). I leave the fan on at night, and at 3AM the fan turns off. Here is the program below. The IF is set to my master bedroom fanlinc motor, and that condition is set to OFF. If that condition is met, then the "Master Fan Off" scene is run, which turns on the "Fan Off" led on the keypad. So if the fanlinc is ON, then it should not run the THEN portion because the condition was not met. Master Fan Off - [ID 0075][Parent 0001] If Status 'Master Bedroom / Master Bedroom Fanlinc - Ligh / Master Bedroom Fanlinc - Fan' is Off Then Set Scene 'Master Fan Off' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') When the fan is on, if I right click the program and click RUN IF, the fan does not turn off, which is correct because the status of the fan is not OFF, as defined in the IF. If I right click on the fanlinc and do a query while the fan is on, the program does not run, which is correct. If I do a query of the entire ISY then the program will run as soon as the query hits the fanlinc, which is not correct. The same with the 3AM query. As soon as it gets to the fanlinc, the program runs even though the fan was ON and the IF condition was NOT met. Im on v4.2.28 Any ideas?

Sounds like the power to your exhaust fan where the micro switch is located still has a switch connected, and when the switch is off, there is no power to the micro in/off. Make sure that the power to the micro on/off is always on by capping the line and load together in the junction box.

Experience With Aeon Labs DSB04100-ZWUS - Z-Wave Door & Window Sensor
MustangChris04 replied to smokegrub's topic in ISY994
Good information, thanks mwester. Fortunately for me, I've never experienced an All On event and I have several Insteon sensors. I use them for the closets so the light turns on when the door is opened, and there is absolutely no delay. I wouldn't trust the Insteon sensors for a security solution. It sounds like the Aeon units are better for doos/windows if they do have a tamper sensor. I personally stuck with the DSC wireless sensors for my alarm and integrated that with the ISY. The batteries last several years, have a tamper sensor, faster response times, and with the DSC Powerseries it can detect if the wireless signal is being jammed. -

Why don't you use the Insteon Wireless Open/Close sensor? http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2843-222-wireless-open-close-sensor.html -
Thanks everyone. I'll try using my personal smtp server and see if that reduces the delay.

I have a few notifications setup to send an email to my cell phone as an SMS using Verizon's email to SMS method 9999999999@vtext.com. These notifications are for events such as when my mailbox is opened, doorbell rung, alarm disarmed, etc. Sometimes these notification are received to my phone sometimes 20-30 seconds after they have actually happened, and at other times I get them within a few seconds of the event. Using my mail client, such as Outlook or gmail, when I sent a test email to the same address (9999999999@vtext.com) I receive the message my phone within 3-5 seconds. I am using the default SMTP settings in the ISY. Has anybody experienced random/inconsistent delays in notifications? Thanks!

Thanks Stu! I replaced a KPL with a new one and used the ISY's function to replace the device and the scene's button would flash. This was driving me crazy and I searched endless for why it was behaving this way. I did a scene diagnostic and some devices were failing, so I right clicked on the failed devices and did a restore.

Try using the following url: http://192.168.1.1/admin Replace the IP address with the local IP of your ISY. Does it do the same thing?
-
Are you trying to get to the admin interface or the dashboard? It should be downloading a java web start file to your computer in which you will need to open to access this. Make sure JRE is installed from java.com

Not to hijack the tread, but with your custom etched buttons, do they all match the same color? I haven't done the custom buttons yet, but I've purchased several of the "50 popular button set" and some buttons are a different shade of white than the others.

Hi Stu, The Insteon fan keypad buttons come with 4 buttons, including an off button. Each button would be configured as ON only. If you don't have an off button, do you set it up as toggle On/Off for each of the 3 buttons? Lets say the fan is on LOW and the LOW button on the keypad is light and you want to turn it off. Would you hit the LOW button and it would turn off the fan and the LOW LED on the keypad would also turn off?

Hi Danbutter, If you have two lights in the same room(north and south) that are controlled from the same switch, you probably have romex ran from both lights directly to the gang box. You could either turn it into a 2 gang box and have two switchlincs to control each load, or you can have a 6 or 8 button keypadlinc which will control one light, and have a micro module in the 1gang box that would connect to the 2nd light. You can then create a scene so that a button on the keypadlinc would control the micro module. As oberkc stated, the other buttons could be used to control the lamps, fan, and any other devices you want.

You could create a program that if it sees that between the hours of 10AM-1PM on Saturday that the Living Room Switch is turned OFF, to have it turn back on automatically.

Hi Michel, In regards to all the missing options that have been posted on this thread by myself and other users, does UDI plan on implementing these options? Thanks!

Are you referring to Houselinc? When I spoke to Insteon support a few months ago they told me it was being discontinued. Do you know if they are still developing the software?
-
I believe that some Insteon devices will resume their last known state after a power failure, and some may not. I know the ISY can catchup on missed programs after a power failure of X amount of minutes (as defined in the settings). I would think these programs would not run all at the same time and would be queued to run one after another.
-
I would agree with this if there were 3rd parties that were making sleek front end interfaces that are "wife friendly". Don't get me wrong, the ISY does more than I could ever want and I'm not looking back, but I'd really like to see some innovative software. The reason I chose Insteon was because they are the only company out there with the "total package" of many different switches/modules/sensors/etc. I'd just like to see the other half of the puzzle solved.

Has anybody seen the Wink Relay? http://www.wink.com/products/wink-relay-touchscreen-controller/ It would be nice if Insteon would focus on their interface. It seems that most of the home automation companies today have great front end interfaces. I'm not very impressed with Insteon's applicaiton for iOS/Android and there isnt anything out there for the ISY besides MobilLinc which I hate.
