  1. If you have 3 other black wires, then that cannot be the load unless you are controlling 3 lights. A bundle of black wires usually indicates that the bundle is line. What other wires are cabled with each of the 3 black wires and what is each connected to. Hint: each black wire must be cabled with exactly one white wire, there may also be a red wire in the same cable.
  2. The linking mode is independent of any responder. There doesn't even need to be a responder at all to put the TriggerLinc into linking mode.
  3. Open/Close the kitchen shade results in OK, but nothing happens, On/Off works. Open/Close the verticals results in a ding sound, On/Off works. So, the same command gives a different result.
  4. The diagram you posted is not possible. Nothing in the diagram is actually connected to the load. At each box, which wire is connected to the black screw of the 3-way switch. Where is the neutral wire. A white wire connected to a switch is NOT a neutral.
  5. Insteon cameras are Insteon in name only. They have absolutely no Insteon functions, none. They were originally branded Smarthome.
  6. You can also use higher voltage power supplies as ling as the polarity is correct. I've been using a 12VDC supply of which I have plenty.
  7. Dual-brites can be contoller using an Inston controller, but they don't apply enough voltage to trigger an Insteon sense wire even at the high level.
  8. If the MS is already added, then you can make any changes that you want, but if your not at the site, then you need that the MS be activated via motion to effect the changes through a program that updates those changes.
  9. What's the result if you physically remove the network module?
  10. Is the MS already added to the ISY?
  11. No different than any GDO remote. You may want to use a battery eliminator.
  12. The LightDims even have a total blackout option, but I found that a second or third layer works wonders. I also use the ISY to turn down or off Insteon SwitchLinc and button LEDs during sleep.
  13. Yes, I'm using CoHo. Results delayed due to early flight tomorrow
  14. larryflix, most Chamberlain (and other) multifunction GDO wall switches don't have an open/close set of contacts. Rather, they use electronic wizardry (also known as circuits) that use two wires to display the time, leave and/or play messages and tend to other trivial matters such as turning on a light and opening the garage door. Some even provide WiFi capability enabling a smartphone to manage the messages and, incidentally, control entry as well
  15. Chamberlain GDO wall switches are usually multifunction devices and don't have a pair of contacts that you can connect the I/O Linc to. Depending on the model GDO you have, there may be a simple push button control available. Another solution is the wire the I/O Linc to a remote control. Soldering required.
  16. Anyone hearing, "that doesn't work ..." I'm not getting any control at all. The cloud gave way to clear weather, or just clear!!
  17. I have nearly 14 programs that control window coverings, garage doors and locks. None respond to open or close. I also have dozens of devices and scenes. I haven't tested each and every one, but every device and scene I have tried respond to open and close. I'm expecting open to run Then and close to run Else.
  18. Yes and no, but that was the goal. For example, from the computer room (which is in the corner of an L-shaped room configuration), I can control the living room, kitchen and dining room lights by naming them and control the the room I'm in by just the word, "light." But from the living room, I use, "light," for the living room light and "computer room" for that rooms light. Same thing in the dining room or bedroom, i just use, "light," when in each respective room and name the room if I'm not in it. Not every device, scene or program is available from every room. I really don't need need control of the bedroom lights, fan, thermostat or window coverings when I'm in the living room nor vice-versa. However, it's easy enough too add something if I find the need. I do have to use different wake words for any Echo or Dot within earshot. I really need more wake words. The next room to get the Dot is the kitchen. My wife loves both the weather report and the timer
  19. I agree. I've used that technique with several long spokens, in some cases where deleting a word didn't help.
  20. We have Somfy over and under. You can double, triple even halve to price depending on just the fabric you select.
  21. Try deleting "ceiling" in the spoken.
  22. I'm currently using four Amazon accounts, three Echos, two Dots with a Dot on order (Aug 3rd delivery). I could really use more than three wake words.
  23. Adjust the sensitivity of the Motion Sensors so they send an On signal only when it's relatively dark. Use a low number, I use 5. Includes them as scene controllers for fast response, then use a program to turn them off.
  24. I prefer the Foscam firmware, but read each manual to reach a decision.
