No, not at all.Just follow the instructions on the first page of this conversation. In fact here is a copy : Install: 1. Backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) - Do not backup from a version 3.1.6, or 4.1.1 system (there were bugs in those versions that caused the backup to be corrupted) 2. Make sure you have done everything in the Prerequisites section 3. Download firmware - ISY 994i Series including Z-Wave support - ISY 994i ZW, Z, or ZS Series (Z-Wave/Zigbee and/or if you do NOT have a PLM) 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file downloaded in step 3 6. After the upgrade, You must clear your Java Cache 7. Launch the 5.0.16 Admin Console and/or Dashboard by going to the following link: - https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Note: If you have version 5.0.8 or lower installed on your ISY, then use this link instead: - http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/5.0.16/admin.jnlp Note: MAC 10.6.x users must use the following links instead - http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/5.0.16/admin16.jnlp (Admin Console) - http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/5.0.16/dashboard16.jnlp (Dashboard) 8. To launch the Admin Console directly from your ISY, go to the following link: - http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp 9. If you are using Z-Wave and upgrading from a 4.x.x or earlier version of the ISY, see Z-Wave migration from 4.x.x branch below 10. Backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY)

Not exactly, but I will leave this as it is before getting into murky territory.

You are not so far of reality as you may think. I have resolved this scarcity with Toto....... and I welcome a nodeserver to link my Toto to ISY, with all kind of benefits; lights, fan........ and lots imaginary tasks.
-
I have not had this issue with my ISY, but with other services (including Foscam cameras) I needed to lower the security level in the Gmail account settings to make it work. As I did not want to lower the security level in my regular gmail account, I created a new account exclusively for the Foscam cameras.

Good in this case, but be careful clicking on such link without being sure of the origin, but I feel left out as well ?
-
Indeed....... Apparently people at Amazon listen to your conversations all the time ? I find that Echo's reaction time to ISY commands is a tiny bit faster than GH, but on the other hand I make extensive use of the AVRemote nodeserver that works with GH and not Alexa.
-
This will become obvious and easy once you have Polyglot installed. There is a "Nodeserver Store" and there you can "install" the Nodeservers that you want. Then you click on "Add Nodeserver" and thereafter follow the "Configuration" instructions in each Nodeserver in the "Dashboard". Once you have installed Polyglot, it will mostly become self evident. Good luck.

I am not familiar with Broadlink but I saw online that it seems to be a mix between ISy and a Harmony Hub. I did not see any Broadlink nodeserver in the "Nodeserver Store", so that may not be the solution. Maybe others in this forum are familiar with broadlink and can guide you. There are currently 73 nodeservers in the Nodeserver Store and I use some 5 of these. Very nice and talented fellow ISY'ers develop and maintain these nodeservers and if you are lucky maybe one of them can create a Broadlink nodeserver.

For a long time my kids believed that my middle name was "Cash" and now my Wife believes that my name is "Google"

My wife blocks her mind on how our HA has actually made her life easier. Our master bathroom has 3 light switches, which I included in a program whereby all go ON/OFF as per the switch nearest to the door. Same in our kitchen etc. She just takes all this for granted. She also has an issue with Google Home which does not like her Latino accent, therefore instead of OK Google she just says OK "my name" and instructs me.
-
ISY programs are indeed more flexible but a few weeks ago I had an issue with the AVRemote nodeserver (which I ended up deleting and re-installing) and started the to use the GH Routines for fixed days and times. I also have a program to stream music that is based on Sunset, and for this ISY is much better. You are right, but we have no real need for this. My dear wife has very little tolerance for my techie gadgets and only allows it because she considers it preferable to me spending time in bars.....?
-
That is very interesting. Great setup ! My home arrival programs are triggered by motion sensors and that serves my needs. My chromecasts stream about 18 hours every day (AVRemote and GH Routines). Zwave switches on the the amplifiers in my 3 "zones" control this. Holidays Google will disable the connected amplifiers if we are on a trip. My question was really on the role of Google Home in this specific setup, which I now understand not to be there.
-
@lilyoyo1 While I have programs for when someone comes home and lights go ON (for sure my programs won't be as sophisticated as yours), I wonder what role Google Home has in this and what Nodeservers you use for this.
-
Thanks. I may keep this motion sensor --} lights working with the programs that I have already. I am a relatively not-stupid person in general, but even with your explanations I still have a blockage about the concept of Variables. And I need to grasp the concept so that I can create my own programs.
-
Maybe I should just stick to Programs
-
I am very grateful to you all, but I still feel dumb. Tomorrow I am asking you some more questions.
-
So you mean that. " Set ’16. Hallway/ 2. Hallway Ceiling’$[Var1.2}% " sets the light to its previous status and "Set Hallway Ceiling Off" is redundant ?
-
I may need some help understanding this. If the Hallway ceiling light WAS On before the motion detection, then I want the Hallway ceiling light to go on again.
-
Will this program turn ON my Hallway ceiling light for 5 minutes (if the light was not already ON, and then after 5 minutes go to the previous Status ON or OFF ? T H A N K S.... and good luck tonight
-
I am trying to understand this because it would be very useful. I have two motion sensors that do the following : (1) turn on the hallway lights for 5 minutes when someone enters our home (2) flash a lamp in my master bedroom to let me know when someone enters our home (*) However, if the hallway lights (1) are already ON, then I don't want them to OFF after 5 minutes. If I understand your program above, I could resolve this with the Variable (*) For fire brigade regulations, we are not allowed to put a lock on the door in our main elevator lobby of our condo, because theoretically someone could get stuck between the elevator and the door in case of a fire. We also have a camera with email alert, with a snap picture, when someone enters our home.
-
That worked !!!!!!! Now another of my probably dumb questions... I could use this variable logic for instance with a motion sensor, but I already achieve the same in a program IF sensor is ON THEN Light X is ON WAIT 30 Seconds Light X OFF..............................

Years ago on TV there was a series called Soap (with Billy Cristal). Every week it ended with a comment like "If you were not confused before, then you will be now", or something similar. That is how I feel now ?
-
Thank Larry. I created the Variable and the Program, and then the selected device turned on. I am not sure that I understood "Try entering '0' " . When I did the device went OFF, which is probably what you suggested that it would do. Now that i created the variable and the test program, what would be a practical use of the variable in for instance one of my wake-up programs ?
