If money is tight, then choose the cheapest option. If not go for Polisy. When the first Iphone came out, many said that their old phone was good enough. Nowadays 99 % of the people want a smart phone.You may not see the need for nodeservers now. I was that way and I had no understanding of Polyglot, Raspberry and nodeservers until some great people in this forum pushed and guided me. I don't look back and Polisy is where you should go if you can afford it.

Once you do, you'll regret not having done it earlier. Unless $ is a big issue, I'd go for Polisy

October is a few weeks away and hopefully Polisy is on schedule. Exciting times ahead.

I think that you hit the Insteon nail on the head with this comment. Though I have gone Zwave all the way (after disliking the PLM setup of Insteon) I read about where Insteon outperforms Zwave and understand why some stick to Insteon. But I rarely see new Insteon products or innovation, and unless a Google, Amazon or equivalent puts its money behind Insteon, by acquiring it, Insteon is bound to fade away with the honorable faithful sticking with it till the end. That is why I would not recommend a newbie to focus on Insteon. The more intriguing question is Zigbee vs Zwave, and what else is still behind the horizon. Surprisingly I have seen no traction of Apple's Homekit. Alexa and Google Home, at least for time being, largely focus on their hub capabilities working with 3rd party devices, with the exception of Google's Nest family. Having gone Zwave all the way, but making good use of ISY's Nodeservers, I also keep my eyes and ears open for what lies ahead. One of the reasons that I still favor Zwave is the Zwave Alliance's insistence on uniformity and innovation, Series 500 and now Series 700. However I will not make a bet on whether 3-5 years from now Zwave will still be my preference.

Try to download the ISY launcher from the link that I posted. Hopefully that works for you.

Indeed. You are probably right that Google changed name from shortcut to routine. Apparently we are slower here than in Canada to keep track of these changes.

I use these ".........http://automaticcurtain.com/products/power-adapter/..........." and am very satisfied. They are also connected to my Google Home (via ISY Portal) with short cut commands Open / Close Curtains.

I agree. I created GH short cuts to control my curtains. Now I just tell GH to open or close, no need for On or OFF.

That would be a logical explanation but different from what is actually asked..... As I said, responses to political polls also often give conflicting results.

I am trying to understand the current results of the poll. At this stage 33 responded to question 1 and same for question 2. But 4 responded to question 1 that they do not plan to pre-order a Polisy, while 33 responded to question 2 that they ordered, or will order, either base model or pro. I think this explains why statistics & polls are difficult to rely on (as was the case in November 2016). This being said, I welcome this poll anyway and hope that soon there will be 3300 respondents and more

Polisy looks to be revolutionary. I hope that UDI has time to include, maybe a bit later, a more user friendly administrative console (not Java based).

I personally chose the Pro because I rather have too many options than not enough, and I am open to the idea that the bluetooth and wifi connections can have interesting uses in the future. Who knows... maybe it will let us control wifi switches without a nodeserver. The location options of bluetooth are also interesting. But I agree with you that it is safer to connect the Polisy to the router with an ethernet cable.
