CLOSED --- Z-Wave 500 Series Beta

After reading your post I tried a (new) dongle backup as well with same result. See logs. ISY-Events-Log.v5.0.13C__Sat 2018.08.18 04.00.05 PM.txt ISY Error Log.v5.0.13C__Sat 2018.08.18 04.03.04 PM.txt -
I don't think that my reply will solve your issue but in my case the refresh spokens icon in ISY Portal never works but when I ask Google Home to "synch my devices" GH in fact synchs with ISY, my Nest and my Samsung appliances.
-
Two questions : What is the benefit of having a ST Hub in addition to ISY ? How do you link the ST Hub to ISY ?
-
Hey Chris, good morning.... I was finally able to exclude and re-include the mimo-lite and indeed the device now remains after doing a synch all nodes. Thanks !!!!
-
Hi Michel, in view of Chris' suggestion and my reply, should I still send you my backup and error log ?
-
Hi Chris, I did as you suggested, synch all nodes and indeed the mimo-lite node disappeared. Unfortunately, this device is somewhat hidden near the ceiling (it controls automatic curtains) and it will take some effort to access it and do an exclude/include. For the time being I am doing a restore to get it back.
-
Yes, it has happened at least 5 times
-
No Michel. However when I activate the device (manually or in the AC) ON or OFF, the device communicates again. As such it is not a big issue but weird. Another issue that I have had with 5.0.13 is that one specific device (a mimo-lite) has disappeared a few times when launching the AC. After doing a Restore, the device comes back. I have two Mimo-lite devices and it only occurs with one of the two.

Pls allow me another question..... If I put a sensor as controller in a scene and a light as responder, is there a way for that light to go off after a set time ? Alternatively, would the light go off when the sensor resets itself ? Thanks -

Thanks lilyoyo1, your comment seems to imply something that I had heard before, which is that a sensor can be directly linked to another device without a ISY program. Is that indeed the case ? As far as my current delays (with ISY programs) it is usually 3-5 seconds and that can be too much when I want a light switch on when someone enters the home.... -

With more than 60 Zwave devices I have an excellent mesh network. My only problem are the various sensors, giving frequent comm error messages and giving seconds delay to activate the light that is linked in my programs. It may just be that I have the wrong sensors. Any suggestion ? -

I think that we are saying the same thing. I was just wondering whether I can slowly replace old Zwave devices and gradually take advantage of the new features or having to replace them all-in-one (expensive and probably not worth it). I'd love to have better performance of my sensor devices...... -
Very coincidentally when reading this post of drprm1, I had the same message popping up as well. It happens occasionally but does not appear to interfere with my ISY's operations. I also frequently get pop-ups about communications being lost with a specific device (not always the same devices) when in fact those devices keep working. This started after installing the 5.0.13b and the new Zwave board. As I mentioned above, my ISY works fine and these messages are just annoying as these pop-ups come on top of other work I may be doing on my computer.

Am I correct that Zwave Plus devices that connect directly to ISY and those that transit through other Plus devices would work with Zwave 500 Series features ? In other words, assuming that I only have Non-Plus devices at far end of my mesh, the Plus devices closer to ISY fully operate as Plus devices ? -

Question : I have the new Zwave 500 Series board and use 5.0.13a. If I get a Zwave Plus sensor will I get its Zwave Plus features even though the sensor (most likely) 'travels' through my Zwave mesh network that includes some Non-Zwave Plus devices ? -

I installed the new Zwave board and believe that everything is working now. I had to restore the AC a few times as one device did not show up, but that seems to have been resolved. One question : In Michel's instructions for the replacement of the new dongle, it is mentioned to "Disable query at restart". Now that the installation has been completed, should I re-able that query ? Thanks -

This afternoon I expect the arrival of the new Zwave dongle. Does it come with explanations on how to replace the old dongle ? Do I need to unscrew the ISY ? Thanks -

In anticipation of receiving the new dongle I performed the above Backup. However it did not ask me where to file the backup and therefore I have no idea where to find it when it is time to do the Restore. Did it go to the SD card inside the ISY ? -

Michel, I am not sure to understand your response. Are you referring to the availability as of end-of-August ? If so, directly from UDI ? -
It also depends on the nature of your HA network. In my case there are only lights, fans and curtains. I feel comfortable addressing the issue after a hacking event. However if more sensitive devices (cameras, door locks...) are involved pro-activity makes sense.

Having read the various experiences with the new Zwave dongle, I am ready to go for it. Where can I buy it ?
