How do you update portal devices?
That is my setup as well. I have 5 GH devices and 2 Chromecasts (each connected to different audio systems in my home). I can instruct GH to play music on one or both of the Chromecasts. I am in no way criticizing Alexa which is a great product, but I chose GH and am happy with it.

Google playing tricks?
Lallyllix it must be your north western southern Ontario accent because GH works well with my blended European~Miami accent... To be truthful, I have an occasional issue with GH but it largely works as intended with my lights, fans and curtains, as well as my Harmony Hub and Nest. I also have Alexa but prefer GH because its knowledge base is larger.

Admin Console Functions Not All Working
I am trying to remotely access the Administrative Console via ISY Portal. On Wiki I found the following information : ISY Portal Admin Console You can use ISY Portal for remote access through the Admin Console without the need for any port forwarding. Here are the instructions: Configure ISY Finder Go to your portal account, click on Select Tools (next to your ISY) and then choose ISY Information Copy the URL next to Admin Console URL Make sure you use http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/admin.jnlp ... this puts an icon on your desktop upon the clicking of which you will get a dialog called ISY Finder When ISY Finder comes up, if it finds your ISY on the network, it'll immediately bring up the Admin Console ... cancel out of the login dialog Go back to ISY Finder (behind the Admin Console), click on the Add button, and then paste what you copied in the second step Close the Admin Console However when I click on Add in the ISY Finder, I am unable to get the Paste function to add the URL that I found in my ISY Portal. Can someone guide me how to add that URL in the ISY Finder ?

Unresponsive Device(s) after Sync
None other than annoyment....

Unresponsive Device(s) after Sync
This is indeed a bug for which I have not seen a real solution. There is an option ( ZWAVE - OPTIONS - FREEZE ISY NODES - YES ) which prevents these nodes to be added, but frequently this option changes to NO for no known reason. I created a folder named 'Phantom devices' and move these nodes to that folder.

ISY Portal and Google Home
I have a very different experience with my 3 Google Mini's and 2 Google Home's. I control lights, scenes and curtains with only the occasional mishap.

Buying a SmartThings hub. Ditch ISY OR, use them both together?
Yes, I agree that battery powered key pads do not measure up, but my point was that I believe that Zwave has more growth potential. And Yes, being able to use both Insteon and Zwave is a big advantage of ISY. There is no reason for anyone with a big Insteon setup to get rid of these. All I have been advocating is that if anyone is starting from zero, I would mostly focus on Zwave and only use Insteon where Zwave falls behind or does not exist.

We are talking about a double switch, controlling both the fan and the fan lamp.

Buying a SmartThings hub. Ditch ISY OR, use them both together?
Inoveli is coming out (this April) with battery powered 3 & 5 button Zwave wall switches ( https://inovelli.com/zwave-switches/ ). They also plan to come out this Summer with a Fan / Fanlamp combination. Battery powered is not as good as line powered, but my point is that Zwave has more future and will catch up with the Insteon devices that currently do not exist in Zwave. Just look at the new Homeseer 200+ dimmer switches. Great new features, though I needed (and still do) Bumbershoot's help to set these up.

I could not agree more. I started with X10 and added Insteon. That is why I got ISY. With ISY I discovered Zwave and when the PLM stopped working (thankfully only having 2 or 3 Insteon devices), I went ZWave all the way. Yes there was some cost in replacing my X10 and Insteon devices, but I am a very happy camper with the combination of ISY and Zwave. In this forum there are many loyal fans of Insteon and I understand this, especially when they have invested in Insteon big time. There are a few Insteon devices that do not exist in Zwave ( Fan- Fanlamp combination), but Zwave is growing fast while Insteon is pretty much stagnant.

Program help - open = on, close = on?
I use Google Home with my Automatic Curtains ( http://automaticcurtain.com/products/power-adapter/ ) . Google Home allows you to create shortcuts ( https://support.google.com/googlehome/answer/7382893?hl=en). That allows me to tell Google Home to Open or Close the curtains.

"How many any sheep are in that field?" After a quick look, "None!" That is why I am sometimes sleepless...... I keep counting and founding none.

Personally I dont see it as a problem. It seems logical for dimmer switches.
