  1. After the last power outage, I noticed things were not working right. Programs weren't running when being executed from the homeseer plugin. I just now noticed that the time has been lost. On the java console while logged in, the time shows as 1/25/1942!!!! Is there a battery backup? If there is, it ran out pretty darned quick. I tried searching for this issue but whenever I type in time, it just says no topics found. Anyone know how to reset the time?
  2. None of my 4 rev 1.1 sensors have ever given the low battery indicator, but I've only been through one set of batteries in a year. I just installed the second set when I realized one of the sensors was no longer working. When I checked ISY for the low battery indicator, it was simply blank as was the rest of the status indicators for that motion sensor.
  3. OK. I finally figured it out. It had nothing to do with the email configuration. When I came back in to the conifiguration screen after after a reboot, I realized that the recipients I'd added were no longer there. It then occured to me that you need to push the save button under the recipient list. Before, I'd added the recipients and they were always there even when leaving and returning to the screen, so I never figured I had to push the save button. Once I realized they were missing, I realized there was also a save button for the recipient list. Once I re-added the emails and pressed save, everything started working fine. Perhaps the error dialog could say something other than fail and simply state that there were no recipients?
  4. Sorry, that was simply a cut and paste typo. In the gmail case, I'm using smtp.gmail.com. And of course I've enabled POP otherwise I wouldn't be able to use send email through gmail using HomeSeer as I thought I was pretty clear about being able to do in my original post. To summarize. Through either HomeSeer or Stunnel, I'm able to send email through aol or gmail just fine using SMTP. I'm not able to send email through either using the ISY.

  6. OK. I figured it out with enough searching. The status is simply whether or not the true or false statement was run. This is nice because I don't even need the timer. I can just run the true or false statement manually. Simple boolean variables for use in programs.
  7. I don't not have a static ip address on my ISY-99. First, I have notifications working through HomeSeer just fine using aol directly. smtp.aol.com:587 user name and password. Using the exact same settings in the ISY....nothing. I also tried gmail, which although doesn't work directly from HomeSeer does work through Stunnel which was needed because gmail requires TLS. Using the settings: smtp.aol.com port 587 and port 465 user@gmail.com password (quadruple checked). TLS checked. Nothing. I've tried variations. Different ports. Just the user name without the @gmail.com, etc. Nothing.
  8. In HomeSeer, I can check the activity of a program to see if it's currently running, but in the ISY, there doesn't seem to be a way to check the the activity, only the status which is true or false. Plus this true or false state doesn't seem to make sense. If the program runs, it gets set to true, but remains true when the program stops. I'd like to use a program as a variable for my alarm status with a very long wait time and set it to run from HS when the alarm is armed and stop the program when the alarm is disarmed. I could do all of this in HS, but I'd prefer to keep as much as possible in the ISY in case the computer when down.
  9. OK, dumb question. How do a I remove a device if it died and cannot be contacted?
  10. Next problem. If I add a motion sensor and leave the type to "auto discover", it never works. No error popup. The "initializing system" popup just disappears after a while without an error or the motion sensor showing up. The only thing that works is specifying that it's a motion sensor first.
  11. When doing a restore on all devices takes 30 minutes, how does it get around the 4 minute time of RF devices? Does the ISY restore thoes devices first?
  12. I got some Insteon Motion sensors and am having the strangest problems. 1) After linking the first motion sensor with the ISY, I made a little test program that would be activated by the sensor. I set the Insteon -> Control(not status) so that I'd get an on trigger whenever there was motion. I disabled the jumper to do the countdown. The program was never triggered. The status of the sensor always showed on. Whenever there was motion and the red led would blink, the access point that it was next to would not also blink. However, if I pressed the set button on the back, it would blink and the status would toggle from on to off and visa versa. So it appears that the Insteon Motion sensors have a bug where they only ever send the on the first time if the disable countdown jumper is set and it never sends an on again. 2) The dusk/dawn status is blank. It doesn't show on or off ever. 3) The low battery warning status is blank. It also doesn't show on or off. Perhaps 2 & 3 or control only? Except that a program that triggers on the control, and not status of the dusk/dawn sensor is not triggered by me putting my hand in front of the sensor to block out the light.. 4) Next I disabled the test program and linked the motion sensor into a scene that only has one light in it. The motion sensor is the controller. The linking fails every time no matter how many times I try it. The sensor is right next to the AP and the AP is plugged into the same socket as the ISY. However, even though the linking failed, pressing the set button on the sensor toggles the light on and off. How strange, the ISY does not show any links in this particular light to be managed by the sensor. Next I did a remove on the motion sensor. Got it removed and the sensor no longer shows up in the list. However pressing the set button still toggles the light on and off. Next I did a restore of the one light that was being controlled. After it succeeded, pressing the set button on the motion sensor *still* toggles the light! The only way that I was able to get rid of the link is by factory resetting the switchlink and then doing a restore. So it appears that Restore Device doesn't remove links that the ISY doesn't already know about. In this case, the linik was added by the ISY but since comm failed to the motion sensor for some reason, the the link that was successfully added to the switchlink does not show up on the ISYs list.
