I just received my three new on/off modules 2635-222 and can not get the ISY to link to any of them. Get a fail to connect. I am using firmware 4.1.2 for some time now with no other problems. Are these supported by the ISY? They are in the device list. Anyone else having same trouble linking these to the ISY? ISY PRO model

I just checked the box for use default and did a test send. It worked going to my SMS messaging to cell phone but did not send notification to my email. Now I have the problem of setting back the way it was because I don't remember how set before such as the SMTP Server, SMTP port, Password. I know I should have written this down before making changes but wasn't thinking. Where can I find this info for the settings. I do remember UserID is isyalerts@gmail.com. My ISY has been working problem free for a very long time before this email glitch. Thanks for all the help.

This is what I get when doing a test Email send Mail Server Failure [TLS negotiation failed]

I checked my junk mail folder and nothing there. I also have the ISY send SMS message to my cell phone which also stopped at the same time as the email.

I am also getting mail server failure. I can connect just fine over the internet to my ISY.

LeeG, Thanks for the help with this. After I sat back and looked at it again I was missing the scene part of it. I now have it working exactly the way I want it to. I have the ON OFF button as controller and the secondary buttons as responders in a scene then set my timers in a program and what I missed was to turn off the scene in the program. My ISY has been working for so long without any problems that it just takes some thinking to get back into the program mode. This forum is great with lot's of helpful people. Thanks again
-
yes I have the secondary buttons set as responders to the main button 1. So I have a scene with button A as responder to Button 1 which is the big ON button at the top. Everything works but the led does not go out on the A,B,C or D buttons once they have been pressed. Only way led turns off is to push the button again and it resets to led off

I am attempting to use the keypadlinc 2487s to control my 30" whole house fan. It is strictly on or off and does not need speed control. I want to use the main on off buttons to turn the fan on and then shut it off as I please. Then I would like to set each button A,B,C,D to have some time value so that when I press that button such as A it will run for so many minutes and then shut off the fan. I was able to setup a program in the ISY for each button when pressed to run the fan for a time and then shut off. So I hit button A and the keypadlinc relay comes on and the ON button led lights and the fan turns on. When the time is over the ON button turns OFF and the fan shuts off but the led stays lit on the A button until I press it to make it go out. I have all four buttons working the way I want with a test time of 10 seconds and all goes as I want except for the led on the respective button does not turn off in response to the relay turning off. I know someone out there must be doing the same thing but I did not find anything to match this in the forum. How do I accomplish this? This is my first time setting up one of these switches. I do have over forty insteon modules in use and several programs running in the ISY that all work great. Just never used any keypadlincs before this. Also the 2487S was just purchased a few days ago. Thanks

I would not use a computer power cord for this. Most are only 18 ga wire not rated for a washing machine. As shown on this cocoontech forum. http://cocoontech.com/forums/page/artic ... ensors-r58

I did a good test in water, you are right. But I see that as long as it is wet the LED keeps flashing on the sensor meaning that it has to constantly send signal to give wet status. So much for a ten year battery if it gets wet and stays wet for several hours. I am rethinking my purchase of these. I think Smarthome is not that smart. How much thinking goes into their products before putting them to market. I think these should lock into the wet mode until user does a press of the set button to reset the sensor. You could get a small leak which dries and then turns into a bigger leak later. Maybe they try to push things out too fast. Well the thirty day money back is OK with me, just have the cost of shipping back and must put insurance on also. I sent some stuff back once and they claimed they never received them. I was out about a hundred bucks. Not impressed with these. Just to add I took the bottom off and I can't believe that the sensor tabs on the bottom are just pressure set to the main board. These should be hard wired to the board. Something as important as a water sensor should have good reliable connection. If I keep these I will make a modification and solder some good wire leads to connect them. Made very CHEAP! Some insurance companies will give a discount if you have water detection setup.

Could the names of the nodes be changed to show the actual status of it. Such as rename dry node to wet and rename wet node to dry then when it detects water the wet node would show ON. And when it is dry the dry node would show ON. Sounds more logical to me. Why is it backwards. Or is this a change that has to be done in the firmware.
-
WOW! That was it. The device didn't get the update. Now showing status. Thanks big time LeeG Can always find help here from a great group of people.

Device links table: 0:0ff8:00 00 00.00.00 00 00 00 ISY links table: shows same as above with my PLM listed twice RF is no problem thru whole house. I am using three remotelincs and they work anywhere plus from outside.
-
Oh by the way also using latest firmware 3.3.10
-
I am in the same room with an access point so RF is not a problem. In the ISY it does not initially show any status on or off for the wet or dry. Shouldn't it show wet as off and dry as on by what I have read here so far? And then when it contacts water it will show on for dry and off for wet. I have also tried in direct water but still no status. Thanks

I just received my Leak Sensors. I was able to add to the ISY994i/pro and it sees the two nodes wet and dry. I am not getting any status for on or off showing in the ISY. I put sensor on wet paper towel and LED flashed no on status showing. I then tried by pressing the set button and still get no ON or OFF status. I purchased six of these and tried two with the same results. What am I doing wrong???

Release 3.3.8 (RC5) Is Now Available
dennisric replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Just recently purchased the 994i/pro to upgrade from the 99i/pro. I had updated the 99i to firmware 3.3.8 and all was working fine. I just replaced my 99i with the new 994i/pro and thought all was well until I noticed that I am no longer getting real time status of off or on status with any of my Insteon modules. I have to query the item to get it's status. Also I noticed that some of my programs are no longer working properly. I have a motion that tuns an outside light on with a program to turn the light off after ten minutes but the light stays on. I am using the same PLM that I had on the 99i and I did a restore PLM but no change. I loaded the new 994i/pro from a backup done just before removing the 99i/pro. Don't know what to do next. Everything was fine till going to the 994i/pro. I guess I should have left everything alone with the 99i/pro because I had that working for a very long time with no problems. If it ain't broke don't fix it. -
I have been using a piezo sounder connected to the 5vdc output of the Iolinc and it works better than an X10 chime. Brand is philmore and they come in continuous sound #B818, On/Off #B819 or Hi/Lo #B820 cost about $6. It has been working great for about year and a half now no problems. These are rated for 3-20vdc starting at 6ma draw. Found some here online but I bought mine locally at an electronics parts store. Hope this helps. http://www.intertexelectronics.com/Phil ... Release 3.2.0 (Beta) Is Now Available
dennisric replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Michel, I have not had time to contact the support team. What I have done was upgrade to 3.1.1 which did not change the ELK problem. I then did the 3.2.2 upgrade with no luck. I went back to 2.8.16 and ELK problem went away and I can again arm and disarm the system from the ISY admin console. I then downloaded the 3.2.0 upgrade again and installed. Again can't control ELK panel. I do have the ELK module installed. Any ideas anyone? -

dennisric replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Michel, I do mean the Elk Console button at top of ISY screen . I can connect to my Elk panel thru ELK RP software and it does see the ELKM1XEP. I can control and make changes to my ELK thru RP software. I have static IP set up for my ELKM1XEP and that is what I have in the ISY. Thanks again for your help -

Release 3.2.0 (Beta) Is Now Available
dennisric replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Michel, I did put in a four digit code that I use to arm and disarm my panel. I also have two other four digit codes that are used and I tried each one and neither one works. I have the correct IP address which I can ping. I have 2101 for the port number which is also setup in my M1 panel. It was working fine in firmware 2.8.16. Thank you for your quick response. -
Release 3.2.0 (Beta) Is Now Available
dennisric replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
I have loaded the new 3.2.0 beta and now I can no longer arm or disarm my Elk M1. I do have the Arm stay, Arm away, Disarm and Go to Elk Console at the top bar. None of these work now but they did before. I did have 3.1.7 loaded before and it didn't work then either so I was waiting to see if other people had the same problem. I saw 3.2.0 and thought that would fix it but no. Any thoughts on what is happening. The control did work when I had 2.8.16 loaded. Thanks
