Yesterday evening all of my lights controlled by the KP in the kitchen came on. I was in the office, and I had been doing something earlier with my ISY (trying to program my motion sensor), so I did not see when it happened, but all of the lights were on when I came out. I do have an RL, but some of the KP buttons are not controlled by an RL, so inadvertently hitting the "all lights on" does not seem to explain it. Now since I was doing some programming with the ISY, at this point I will attribute it to "user error" even though I cannot think what I might have done, but just curious if anyone has seen this. This is a new install for me and still learning, but do KPs go crazy like this once in a while? I hope not. Thx Joe

this site is so useful, I hope I don't overextend my welcome for free advice! What is the suggestion for a program that has to be a common issue with motions sensors. I have a "garage lite" that is controlled by a KP key, and I want to be able to also have it controlled by a motion sensor. I want the motion sensor to turn on garage lite and turn it off only if the KP has not initially turned on garage lite In other words I do not want the motion sensor time out controlling the Off command it the lite has been turned on by the keypad in addition if the motions sensor turns on the garage lite, and want to override with command on from the keypad, what is the right way I know it has to be simple and common, so any suggestions? OK for All: Got a nice call from Darrell From UD today and he suggested when I link and RL to wait for the time out of the RL (i.e. when LED quits blinking) instead of waiting until all 6 keys are showing up and then hitting a key like I have been doing before. He thought that may be corrupting the linc. Well I tried tonight just a few mins ago and all worked well. Before I am 100% convinced, give me a few hours or a day, but it does not seem to exhibit the strange issues I had before, so I think we may have it here. Am I the only one not waiting until the time out? Seems this issue would have come up before. Nevertheless, thanks for all the attention, we may have it fixed (fingers crossed)! Joe

in trying to "debug", there should not be an issue with a RL key and a KP key being in the same scene should there? Is it more appropriate to create a duplicate scene for each controller (I did not think so , but trying to debug)

Thanks Rand, Do you have any suggestions (as tough to find time to call when at home)? Basically when I link an RL, most of the keys work, sometimes one does not. Do an RL restore and they all work, but add any of the keys to scenes and that key or another key will stop working. Now on second RL, so doubt it is an RL failure (but of course possible) Joe

now key 4 stopped working...I GIVE UP!

Sorry Mike Have to work tomorrow, but here is the latest: 1) After linking the RL all keys but 4 worked 2) Right clicked on key 4 and said restore device 3) Then all keys worked 4) Added key 4 to a scene, it worked but key #5 stopped 5) right clicked on 5 and selected restore 6) all keys worked 7) added all the keys to different scenes, and again another key stopped, restored (took a long time) now all keys and all scenes are working...for now Something is going on and I am just not experienced enough yet to figure it out

Mike I unblinked the RL, so you want me to link it again first? Then how do I copy and paste?

in fact, just removed and reset then linked the RL again, and before put any of the keys in a scene just check status on each key after pressing, they all wok except #4, same as other RL. Joe

well as bizarre as it is, I have received the new RL tonight, and SAME issue. I cannot get key #4 to work in any scene! I removed the RL, reset it , created new scene and I can get the other 5 keys to work fine, but not #4. I am doing the exact same thing to make other scenes controlled by the other keys, but not #4. Any thoughts, or are these RLs just flaky? Joe

Mike, got it! You know each "machine" has it's programing preferences (language), if not for you and the rest of the help here I would need "Rosetta Stone for ISY", so thanks! Joe

michael, Still a little confused. If your program works great to have just one program, but to Rand's point is your program still controllable from another switch that can shut off the scene? If it is shut off wont it go right back on? Thx Joe

Thanks Rand That is exactly what I needed! Now I see I really need two programs, much more like my "Ocelot Programming". Yes, I just want to run on then off at set times, but still controlled by other switches

Does the ISY support EZX10RF? I have some legacy X10 controllers, easy to hook up with ISY and EZX10? Also, what is the general opinion on the EXx10RF, worth the money and works good? Thx Joe

I assume the ISY has no battery backup as I power cycled it and it had the wrong time. What is the proper way to handle power failures to get the programs running on schedule again? Joe

sorry for the basic question, but do I need the Else command in this program? Also, do I need to enable "run at start up"? on all of these type of programs? Goal is to have the fountain on for 2 1/2 hours If From 4:00:00PM To 6:30:00PM (same day) Then Set 'Fountain - Backyard' On Else Set 'Fountain - Backyard' Off

Hi Mike, Getting late, so may be not clearly undersatnding your comment. But, more simply, if I look at the RL status on Key # 4 I cannot toggle it from "on" to "off" or visa versa unless i totally remove the RL and do a reset. Then it works OK, but then if I include RL#4 in any scenes it all starts to act up again Tough to explain because I have made several changes and I know the key is in the details, but I again think the RL is defective, so I guess easiest is to see if the issue persists after I get the new one Thx Joe

Rand Thanks for you patience. I did this several times before and it works OK until I try to use key #4, then it all gets messed up, so I am back to thinking it is the RL. Right now I just make sure I do not use RL #4 and it seems to work OK, and I have an exchanged one coming. I may be wrong, as it is weird that it messes up other buttons when I use #4, but thatappear to be the case I will upgraded to software, I did not see that version in my ISY though (have on automatic update) Thx Joe

I am totally confused. OK so I was convinced RL #4 defective, then created I created a scene with RL#5 and KPL#5 with "Garage Lite" works fine. Then created another scene with "garage lite" and RL#3. Now the RL#5 key does not work EXACTLY like RL #4, same symptom This is so simple but it escaped me!

Hi, it appears to be 26. I did not think even that many, but I believe that 26 is pretty low?
