  1. Yes the later. I think your suggestion makes sense, but I need to think about it, but I see what you are doing. I am not sure that you need the 3rd program if you had: if KPL #1 B is switched on or KPL #2 B switched on AND KPL #1 B is not switched off AND KPL #2 B is not switched off having the ELSE switch stop the program. Make sense? one question, if you had the two KPL in a scene as controllers and "turned off the scene" do the LED lites on the KPLs both go off? Thanks Joe
  2. I am trying to do something simple , but it escapes me. I have two separate KPL, each button controlling the same programs. note, they are programs and not scenes because it uses an X10 control in the program. the same button on each controls the same program, so lets say I press button B, I want the program to start and the LED to go on on both KPLs button B, Likewise, I want the LED to go out and program stop on both KPLs independent of which on I press to turn off. Simple in scenes, a little less simple for programs

    Thanks! The factory restore worked!

Also, just tried a restore to R1, no luck
  5. Hi Michel Have an unusual issue that I would like your suggestion on how to resolve. For simplicity, I had a scene with KPL B as a controller to Responderes R1, R2, R3 and R4. I deleted that scene and created a new one and now have KPL B as a controller to a differet Responder R5. However, when activating KPL B, the old Responder R1 still responds also (along with the new R5 of course). I tried to add R1 and then Delete if from the scene to get rid of it, no luck. I tried a resore device on the KPL, no luck. any suggestions?
  6. no I did not. just loaded older backup and did a restore. In the future would it be better to do a factory restore first?
  7. Thanks for asking. After loading an older backup from a few days ago and trying to restore the two KPLs it worked OK. So good new is I got it all working again, bad news is I do not know what the problem is/was. It was very strange. Joe
  8. now two KPLs cannot be written to, all going haywired
  9. just now keeps saying failed to write
  10. no, I know about waiting, but never complete, now says cannot commincate with KPL-A, despite this being in the mesh for a long time and working fine
  11. Michel I urgenly need your help. I had some odd extra controllers in scene, not sure how rhey got there, but in any case after removing a KPL did notwork. In trying to do a resotre it is in an endless loop, write, then still shows green icon then when click batch button it tires to write again, over an over

for the life of me I cannot find the program syntax for query My Lighting at 3AM every day, can someone repost?
  14. I have a MS turn on "garage lite" and sometimes the light does not come on and isy says "cannot communicate with 'garage lite' ". I made a test program that turns on then off the "garage lite" 20 items with 1 sec wait in between with no problems, so I assume the issue is that that MS communication link is the issue. However, the AP is only about 15ft away form the MS. Any thoughts? (yes it has new battery)
  15. so how do you know which of our backups are from 2.7.7 as it is not in the name of the saved file? so if I get this right, we reinstall 2.7.7, install our backup and migrate to 2.7.10?
  16. is this just SWLs or togglelincs also as this could explain some of my garage problems, both v35 togglelincs

fitzpatri8 tried that and did not work, but as Sub-Routine says perhaps I need to power cycle the lamplinc. Will try tonight

for the first time I have an application where I want the lamps local on/off switch to control a lamp plugged into a lamplinc. I know about load sensing, but it seems to always come on at 100%. Is there a way to have it come on at what the level the lamplinc is set?
  19. 100% agree. Michel Rocks!

I am almost sure I did not execute a DT command because I did not even remember that command was present, but let's say I did. How would one get it back?
  21. jkraus replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
Michel No sure it is a bug vs something either in my system or something I did. Reason was that originally I could telnet fine (even after upgrading to 2.7. then selected a couple of menu items like change IP (although I am 100% sure I did not change it), just to play around a bit then executed XS (exit Shell) and then tried to log on again, and could not. So it seems at least that the isy with 2.7.8 let me do it at least once, but not a second time, seemingly more like I changed something. This is not my area of expertise so I will leave it up to you, but just wanted to make the picture clear Thx Joe

I can access the ISY through the Java admin console no problem, and it still reports in the menu the same IP address it had before, and yes I have tried to reboot, however I did not try to ping it
  23. jkraus replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
I telneted to 192.168.1.102 (my static IP address- with no ports) and it worked fine. ran a couple of insturction like set IP address but did not change anything. Then I did "XS" exit shell and then tried to telent again same address as before and could not get a connect. I then tried also adding ports, but to no avail so assumed it was the XS command, Even rebooted my dual boot PC form Win 7 into Vista and even ran the telnet from there but no differnece. Even downloaded Putty telnet client, same result

still having problme, but all I was trying to do was remeber how to set the static IP address for whenI get my new isy replacement. Now I did a search and see that is in the admin cousole, cool! Is ther any reason tho have to telnet anymore? BTW, love 2.7.8 and love the batch mode, all seem very stable to me
  25. jkraus replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
that is what I did the first time that worked OK, but now without the port number (or with any port number) I cannot telnet anymore However the error is port 23 not 26. I beleive 23 is the telnet default. In any caser cannot telnet to the isy despite rebooting
