  1. factory reset did not work. Interesting that I could do a restore form the isy with no problem so the Insteon logic is still intact, but no help, so I think your guess may be a good one. Is this a common failure mode do you know?
  2. I used to use Logmein but now that is resticted
  3. Thanks Brian On the chance that it is defective as you described I have ordered another one from SH, in the meantime I will try tonight a factory restore just to see Thx Joe
  4. This morning my togglelinc dimmer did not turn off my garage lites. I though it missed a command , but when I went to physically toggle it off the the LED glowed (like it was in off position) but the lites stayed on. When I turned off and back on the circuit breaker that the TL was on they lights still stayed on. Is the TL gone bad or does a factory reset help? If I do a factory reset, then do a restore device from the isy? Do I have to remove the switch form any scenes BEFORE I do a factory reset?
  5. ha, this would be useful. I have a lamplinc that I swear is removed, but isy says that it is linked and I can turn it on an off?? I would love to send it a peep to see if I can find it, as this is driving me nuts as I have looked in all my outlets. How do I beep it?
  6. work firewall. Even Michel could not fix it.
  7. sorry that commet about size was in differnt thread, not this one. Thanks, but yea need stadrad size and outdoor rated as for pool pump and the 2477 is not after talking to SH
  8. seriously? do you mean 2477SA1, ? wont fit need a standard light fixture size and outdoor rated
  9. OK, this is not high on my wish list, but often at work when I have a few minutes it would be great to try to interface with my isy, however, our firewall at work prohibits it (for sure as Michel has tried to fix), so I was wondering if there was a "dummy" admin console available where could at least see the programming interface at work to check out some syntax's. Does it exist?
  10. adding to this , is there any X10V 220V switches that isy99 can read the status, as Insteon 220V do not conveniently fit in my current enclosure as would love to upgrade to Insteon but do not have a neutral at the switch
  11. Brad77 thanks much, makes sense. However, for some reason I have a mental block about how to use programs as flags. I have tried before, but does not seem to sink in. It would seem to me that if a program is running it is true if not it is false, but it does not seem to work that way. is the only way to change a program status to True or False is by telling it to do so from another program? Any help you can give me would be appreciated, as I have not grasped this fully Thx Joe
  12. ahh, that would work if it were Insteon, but alas it is my LAST x10 device, a 220V x10 switch
  13. Hi, just purchased the Weather Bug Module to start my pool pump when it gets near freezing. To test it out first I wrote a program to just send a text alert when "Temp > 50F". Seem to work great as it rose above 50F this morning, but now I get alerts every few minutes. I am guessing that as long as it is above 50F it will keep sending me alerts (very annoying ) . So how do I set up the program to only send one alert because eventually I only want to turn on the pump once Joe
  14. seems the first RL indeed is dead as I finally got the second RL to link by selecting "auto discovery" and all seems fine. only other comment is the 1st RL was quite sensiteive to a drop as X10 you can basically throw at the wall and still works
  15. OK, here is one for all? Dropped my remotelinc on sidewalk and control stopped working. LEDs and beeps seemed normal but still would not control lights. Removed links from ISY and did a factory reset, but could not linc it. So figured it was dead. I have a brand new spare that I then tried to linc and it failes. Get error messgaes "failed writing higwater mark" and "node not added" wierd coincidence. any ideas?

    firmware feature

you bring up some interesting difficulties. Let me ask a question, you may know. If I had a scene that was controlled by say 3 different keypads lets say all pad "A". when I hit any of the keypad "A" all three of the keypad button "A" lite. If then I make any adjustments to the lights in the scene, all three keypad "A" stay lit, until I turn one of them off. This I believe to all be true So if I were to use the status of the Keypad "A" (I think I can do that), would that be a reliable measure of the "scene being on" to be used in a program?

    firmware feature

Just wondering why the status of a scene cannot be used in a program (as far as I know). It seems the only way to do this is write another program that gets executed simultaneously with the scene then use the status of that program in another program, kind of a kluge isn't it? again, unless I am missing something. Joe
  18. Very cool! Thanks for the link! almost glad my last one died, looks like a significant improvement Do I need 2.8.3 to be able to do this?
  19. Thanks much! Sorry for not reading far enough! Joe
  20. My "old" MS of 1.5 years died and so I ordered a replacement (apparently only 1 yr warranty) and I noticed on the web the instructions have changed for ver 2 in that the "time out" is controlled via pots. Does that mean I cannot program the timeout via the ISY. In the past I linked the ISY to the MS then could set the exact time out (within 30 sec increments I think) very convenient, but now I have to rely on inaccurate pots? It seems that with pots, it would be a trial and error to get the right time. I know many of you only use only the "on" command and the let ISY take care of the time out, but I have the light controlled by MS as well as in a scene controlled via a keypad, and right now I use the condition "If receive off AND keypad is off, then turn off light" so I need the "off" function Joe
  21. finally getting around to trying this and I see you can set a program to be active as a resut ot a device being turned on, but not a scene being turnd on correct? Point being the light I want to control is in a scene. if that scene is on then I do not want the motion sensor to control that light in the scene, but if that scene is off then I want the MS to control the light. To use a progam as a flag I would have to add a program to a scene or make it a condition of a scene but I dont think that can be done
  22. Cool thanks. I was trying to set up a control for my garage light that is both controlled by a KPL and a motion sensor. If the lite is activated by the MS then the MS timeout should be able to turn it off, however if turned on by the KPL I want the MS timeout to do nothing. Very common I would think, and the "flag" concept should work Thx Joe
  23. I want to write a simple program that uses a program status as a flag or variable i.e. if a light is turned on by a certain controller it will turn on say a dummy program "program A", then in "Program B" there will be a condition depending on Status of "Program A". The isy syntax has the ability to check if a program is "ture" is this exactly the same as a program being "on". So can I merely use "program A" and turn it on and off at will and subsequently be able to check if it is on with the is it"true" query? Thx Joe
  24. Notes say that there is now support for ezxx devices. The only one I have is ezx10rf. Any changes or new features for that product?
