  1. Thanks Much. This was Exactly the problem I started to have. I wonder if this is a new update to AVG as I never had an issue before. Howevre in my case it was 100% related LinkScanner i.e. if I turend it back on, no more access. Repeated it severl times and 100% in my case this was the issue
  2. I have always used Firefox as my browser to the isy, but today when I came home it said I needed to install Java. Strange, but I though maybe a new version of Firefox was installed and needed an updated Java. After installing the updated Java it no longer says I need to update the Java, but despite clearing the java cache it just keeps trying to load, but never completes. Anyone else having this problem, or just me? BTW IE still works fine
  3. the link does not seem to work today. Is the server down, or is it my system? just starts to download then hangs
  4. One solution is an X10 220v switch. I know, I know, why X10 when we all want to go insteon! Well, actually this is my very last X10 device for the same reasons that you said, no other real good insteon solution. The advantage of X10 in This case Is no Nuetral required which you very well may not have, and because it is on Both legs of your house circuit very reliable. I have been using it with isy for over two years and works without a flaw
  5. so we had a rain storm last night and this morning one of my outside lights come on randomly. If I push the keypad controller or remote link button to turn it off it works just fine, as do dim and brighten command, just like normal. However, after I shut it off a few minutes later it comes back on by itself. So just that I start looking in the right place, anybody have ideas or similar history? I first will look in the outside box that controls that light, but hate to waste time if anyone has any other suggestions. Thanks much Joe

not sure what you mean by trigger? Although, to make sure I understand the concept of run at upstart, wouldn't I check all programs to run at startup that are time dependent programs i.e have time as part of the if statement as I would want all those programs to be be in the correct mode depending on what time the reboot happened?

Hi, I simply want to understand the concept because it seems to me that all programs "run at startup" I have a water heater recirculating pump that is scheduled to run between 8am and 10:30 pm. I rebooted the Isy the other day and it seems that this program was not then running. So it the point of "run at startup" to evaluate the "IF" statement immediately when the "run at startup" box is checked? Is so why would anyone NOT want to have their program run at start-up jut need a bit of education here Thx Joe

never mind, I see the default gateway on my new router was different than my last. all OK now

seems this server to update my time does not work anymore. I did change my router not too long ago, could this be related? How should I fix it?
  10. Michel Thnaks for asking. All goes good now on the Remotelinc2 except key reversal (wierd) and the range is kind of disapointing(some spots in yard dont work while with remote linc 1 could even get from neighbors yard) but neither of these issues are belvied to be realted to isy, so thanks ! Joe
  11. OK, now with deleting and relinking it seems to work OK, althoguh yes I have the "reversed keys syndrome". easy to work around but certainly wierd I will add my second RL2 and see if it is the same. I suspect a bad lot as these were the very first off the line Joe
  12. Not sure if I really have a problem yet as have not spent a whole lot of time on it, but I seemed to have trouble linking a RemoteLinc2. It finally seemed to link ok then it seemed that the buttons were "reversed" for example button "h" controlled link #7 and other similar issues on other buttons. Then when putting one of the links into a scene it would not control the scene. Maybe I have a bad remotelin2 or maybe it linked poorly, again, did not have much time to spend on it so definitely not calling it a bug yet, just wanted to know if there were any similar experiences to help me debug Thanks jkraus

recieved them yesterday. Man they are small! I guess this should not be a sureprise as you can see from the web that they mount in a standard outlet configuration, but actually getting them you realize you could easily lose these $44 remotes. Had to link it to one device just to check it out (despite Michel's warning ) and the range and worakbilty seems good. I really welcome this change in the Remotelinc. I would have done a few things differently, but Oh well, at least a big improvement. Now if we can just have isy support

Looks like SH is shipping quite early. Despite thier web claim for Sept 30th, I have notice that the two I ordered have been shipped. Is there anything I can do to check out these puppies before officail isy support or do you recommend I just wait? Thanks much! Joe

Thanks mitchel. I have been so excited about a remotelinc upgrade I ordered two immediatly. The scheduled delivery Is end of Sept. Do you expect an isy upgrade to handle them By then?

Just saw the new remotelinc2 on smarthome web. Will isy automatically Support it, meaning to isy it will just look like a remotelinc1 in different enclosure?
  18. Thanks Lee, yes it is coming back to me now, I think that is what got me confused last time is that I had to do an "extra" push on the set button so not exactly as the insturctions indicated. Perhpas this wont be the case this time as it is a new EZX10RF as well as I have upgraed my PLM to the newer dual Band one... we will see. I just remember never feeling like I was "doing it right" is was kind of ht an miss and as I was trying to link all 16 keys on a X10 PalmPad and had to start over several times, I took up an entire afternoon (hoping to avoid that this time). Thanks Joe
  19. It has been a while since I used the EZX10RF as last one died some time ago and just ordered a new one. I know the isy firmware has some new enhancements or at least instructions in this regards, but to be sure, the procedure is: 1) Link the EZX10RF to isy first like any other insteon device 2) use the "add x10 devices to EZX10RF" menu for adding an x10 address 3) complete step #2 to full completeion and repeat #2 for next x10 device Is this the right idea? Is it possible to add several x10 devices (addressses) while still in the middle of step #2 or does each one need to be a completely different occurance? also not clear #1 even needs to be done, or can you just start with step #2 as does the EZX10RF need to be linked first? Sorry for the simplified insturction request, but I know last time I had a lot of trial and error that I would like to streamline this time
  20. fitzpatri8, not sure I follow you. Do you mean certain versions of isy software? I looked for the old thread and it seemed that many returned their RL for new ones and it solve the problem. Mine are almost 2 years old and perhaps this one was not used much, so it possibly is from an old batch Joe
  21. Interesting comment about the low battery. It did blink several times when button pressed like it had poor communication issue (so possibly low battery you say). However, upon restore, without any battery change, works again just fine. However, this is a unit that I just changed the batteries in a couple of weeks. I though it kind of odd because the batteries were not that old especially the unit is not used too much. I remember a thread about some RLs having problem with eating through batteries, maybe this is the issue. Does anyone know the ver of the bad battery devices? Thx Joe
  22. Hi, just wanting to debug an issue I had with a RemoteLinc. Without any isy changes (program or firmware) one of my RemoteLincs stopped controlling the devices on any of the buttons. I did a restore on the Remotelinc from the isy and worked fine, but wondering how this could happen i.e. how did a RemoteLinc lose all of its lincs?
  23. Thanks michel Yes I found this between my second and third post, so thanks for the help. I have no idea why installing a new certificate increases my security since log on is the same but I guess I need to do some reading Thx Joe
  24. Ok now I see how when I get to the blank consol how to add a new certificate. So I did so but i have no idea what I did or what effect it has, sorry for the lack of knowledge in this area
  25. thanks Mitchel I dont really understand the concept of certificates but I like to learn. In any case when I select "manage my certificates" form the admin Consol from local PC it goes to another admin consol and has me log in again so I do then the admin consol is blank. So I am at a loss of what to do next Joe
