LeeG does not work. Here are my programs: test - [iD 001F][Parent 0001] If Control 'KPL Kitchen.D' is switched On And Control 'KPL Kitchen.D' is not switched Off Then In Scene 'Motion Garage' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 31% (On Level) In Scene 'Back Garage-Sensor' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 31% (On Level) In Scene 'KPL Kitchen.D' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 31% (On Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') then off program: test 2 - [iD 0003][Parent 0001] If Control 'KPL Kitchen.D' is switched Off And Control 'KPL Kitchen.D' is not switched On Then In Scene 'Motion Garage' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 81% (On Level) In Scene 'Back Garage-Sensor' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 81% (On Level) In Scene 'KPL Kitchen.D' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 81% (On Level) Wait 1 second Set 'Garage Back Lite' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

"In Scene 'Garage Motion' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 31% (On Level) - for when the ISY Scene is used in a Program In Scene 'Motion Sensor-Sensor' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 31% (On Level) - for when Motion Sensor-Sensor is Controller In Scene 'KPL button D' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 31% (On Level) - for when KPL button D is Controller" LeeG, your message is finally sinking in, so all three lines are required, then I assume 3 lines to take the scene back to 81% when KPL button D is off?
-
so you can use it to disable a scene i.e. do not want a MS to control a light in a scene if some other condition exists?
-
Hi Paul That is exactly what I do ie, the MS does not send an off and a program manages the time. The issue is that when I want to set the "garage lite" to a lower lever the MS when activated sets it to the scene level, Unless I missed your point .

so there is a "set scene off command" I have never seen that! is it only on and "Else" path? I will have to try tonight

Sorry, this is similar to another post I made. There may be no way to do this…but have to ask. I used to turn on a “Garage Lite” from a motion sensor triggering a program, but I found the response quite slow. So recently I made a scene with “Garage lite” and “motion sensor” in the scene and it works great, very fast. However, before I made the change I used to have another KPL switch “mood light” which set “Garage lite” to a lower brightness and the motion sensor program was told not to turn off if the “mood light” was on. Worked fine, except as I said was slow. Now with the scene approach rather than the program approach, there is no way to make this work. That is when I have the “mood light” on it is OK until I walk by the sensor and the “Garage lite” turns on to the level of the scene. It seems there is a command to change the scene under certain conditions in a program, but this does not seem to help. As I said there may be no way to do what I am trying. Thanks Joe

I have only one X10 device, it is a 220 V and that used to work but now it stopped even when I replace the X10 device so my question is very simple, can the PLM fail and that it only does not work for x10. And yes it works with pure x10 controllers
-
doing some analysis where on a 220V x10 will not work off the ISY but other wise will work. Does the PLM ever fail in this mode where only the X10 function will not work?
-
yes, although has been working great for years, but I knowthings change. I ordered a new PLM just in case as the cost is less than the hassle, and I will see if it get stronger with the new PLM, strange day as I was convinced it was the switch, burnt many hours today does it k sense to try a PLM restore if it is working sometimes? i.e would seem like it would work or not if programming was the issue
-
OK now this is really strange! The old switch is now acting the same way, namely will respond fine to an x10 plampad controller, but not the isy,. Is it possible for the PLM to go out just for x10 as my other insteon devices work well??. I am very confused here. ok, now moving the PLM helped (and back again and also working) so the isy and PLM connection is the issue. again, does the PLM kind of get flaky near the end of its life??
-
I see that the original switch set up as an "A10" no sure of the differences if any than the generic X10
-
i put the old switch back in and it works OK. I thought it was the same type, but the old one was Leviton 6371-1 and the new one is a X10 PS2. Hmm, look they same exactly down to teh dimples on the top, so I just though different branding! wonder why?

I have one X10 device left. It is a 220V switch to control my pol pump. I changed it today and it will respond to the X10 Controls from an X10 controller, but not form the ISY, independent of what address I give it. I have the X10 module for isy, but even trying to send X10 signals seems not to work. any ideas?

trying to write a simple scene adjust program, as never did this before. I have a motion sensor and garage light in a scene so garage light is turned on with motion then I have a program to turn off the scene after certain time. however if the light is turned on by a keypad button "A" the program will not turn off the light, all is working great. However, I also have a "mood" button that tuns on this light at a low level, but every time I go by the motion sensor it turns it on to the brighter level of the scene, so I was trying to control with a program like this but does not seem to work (note, the "D" button is the mood lower level of 31%) test - [iD 001F][Parent 0001] If Control 'KPL Kitchen.D' is switched On Then In Scene 'Garage Motion' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 31% (On Level) Else In Scene 'Garage Motion' Set 'Garage Back Lite' 61% (On Level)

Thanks to all. I do have internet at the vacation home 24/7 and the cloud is alway available, as I have two camera set up to view with a dynamic DNS account. Also, my requirements are quite modest I.e. Some light on via a schedule etc. having said that the responses are so overwhelmingly in favor of the isy I may have to reconsider

Sorry looks like I double posted and don't know how to delete one of them. Sorry

I have an isy994 and am very happy. However for my vacation home I do not need such sophistication and was looking at the insteon hub. First off any opinions? Second, before I bring the hub to my vacation home can I test it out at home, meaning will an isy and a hub coexist on the same home HA network without any conflict or problems? Thx much Joe

I think I found an error, I will check tonight, thanks for all the help...will let you know if it was the stupid thing I think

test - [iD 0042][Parent 0001] If Control '31.8F.F5-Sensor' is switched On And Status 'KPL Kitchen.1' is Off And Status 'KPL Kitchen.D' is Off Then Wait 40 seconds Set Scene 'Garage Back Lite scene' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

The program is very simple, but the issue may be the motion sensor , so I have: All switches off except #5 for software control on in the motion sensor I have software programmed , on only commands, timer .5 minutes ( although is timer disabled with on only commands?), motion sensor tos send regardless of timer, nite only I think I am missing something basic, but I will try tonight when it gets dark ( btw I have always used dusk dawn from the isy to set command, but now with now only on the motion sensor will the light form the garage lite make the nit only now see day?)
-
Need a little advice. For years I have been using motion sensor to run a program to turn on "garage lite", but it is kind of slow that way. The reason I was using the program is because if the garage lite was turned on by a different controller on a keypad I did not want the motion senor timer to turn off the light so I had a separate program to turn off when received "off" command AND KPL switch was not on. This works OK but kind of slow to turn on. Today I made a new scene and put the sensor in the scene along with the garage lite and set the motion sensor to send only on command. This made the lite come on much faster, great! Then I used a program to turn off the Garage lite after so many second after the motion sensor was "on" AND the KPL switch is not on. Seems to work erratically, but I cannot get consistent results. So rather than trying to debug "my way" perhaps there is some other way to make this work? Thanks much Joe

Ok thanks working now, so cross fingers
