Trying to implement Z-Wave on my EISY - can't find instructions
Cleanplate Collections | Tedstuff I custom ordered them. They have standard designs but I contacted them and they worked with me on the custom label placement for my Zooz controllers. The cost was about the same as custom Insteon buttons since I ordered several for my bedrooms. I also have a slightly different version in my bathrooms. There is an outfit that is engraving both Insteon and Zooz products as well. I do not personally have any experience with them, but I likely will in the future as this is now where Insteon.com points to for custom buttons. Domotinc-customs

Trying to implement Z-Wave on my EISY - can't find instructions
That is what I generally do. I use Zwave in bathrooms, bedrooms and closets where I generally have just a single location switch. And Insteon for my larger, main areas where I want more elaborate scenes and control from multiple switch locations. Zwave does not play well with eISY/Insteon scenes (at least as far as my experience is concerned). Zwave also has more options for devices. I used these Zooz controllers in all my bedrooms paired with an Insteon fan controller. I think they have a cleaner look as opposed to the Insteon 6 button keypads.

Trying to implement Z-Wave on my EISY - can't find instructions
In my early days of Zwave (that like you I started using during the Insteon dark time) signal was an issue, so I bought a lot of repeaters. Now that I have more and more devices, the signals are better, though still not as reliable as Insteon dual-band. As to your parameter issue, I set parameters using my eISY all the time using the procedure I listed above. Most recently with a Zwave gas fireplace control where I was changing the parameters a lot during testing of the auto-shutoff time. I was setting it pretty short so as not to have to wait around for my tests. I use Zooz and other brands and generally don't have any issues other than there does not appear to be anyway to "retrieve" the setting using the eISY so the only way I can verify my change is by how the device behaves. One thing I always do is to have the Zwave device very close to other Zwave devices as I am setting the parameter. I have a "testing bench" where I hook up my devices to a power plug for setup and testing. I never install in a wall box and then try to set the parameter. I set the parameters, test and verify. I am not sure if that makes a difference, but that is how I always handle mine.

Trying to implement Z-Wave on my EISY - can't find instructions
I change Z-wave parameters pretty regularly in my eISY. Using both the admin console and programmatically. I set the values in the admin console making sure to click "Set Configuration" to enact. And then I usually click "write changes". I have never figured out a way to see what they currently are, but changing this way always seems to work. You can also change the parameters programmatically:

Gas Fireplace Control
I have a house full of Insteon and Z-Wave devices using the eISY. I recently turned my attention to my gas fireplace. Currently I was using a wall mounted batter-operated, millivolt timer. It had buttons for off and 30, 60 or 120 minutes. But no ability to activate remotely. And I was constantly having to re-activate on longer, colder days. So I researched my options and purchased the Zooz Z-Wave Long Range MultiRelay ZEN16 for the fireplace control and the Zooz Z-Wave Plus S2 Double Switch ZEN30 for the wall switch access. https://www.amazon.com/MultiRelay-ZEN16-Sprinklers-Fireplace-Repeater/dp/B0846DZJD8/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 https://www.amazon.com/ZEN30-Control-Repeater-Required-SmartThings/dp/B0846CJTRN/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Initially I connected the upper rocker dimmer switch to the light above the fireplace and used the lower button to activate the fireplace relay on an 8 hour timer. But then I realized if I flipped that around, I could use the status lights of the dimmer as an indicator of the timer count down. Here is what I did: 1) Set the dimmer switch paddle to immediate 100% ON using the parameter settings listed in the user guide. 2) I created the following programs in my eISY. Fireplace On Fireplace Off Fireplace Timer Now, when the Upper switch is tuned on, the relay will be activated to turn on the fireplace and a timer program will start. Every ten minutes it wakes up and sends a dim command to the wall switch which reduces the dimmer status by 2%. And over the course of 8 hours the dimmer status lights will reduce. And at a glance, I can tell how much longer the fireplace will run. Of course, at any time, I can turn the fireplace OFF or hit "ON" to start the 8 hour timer over again. Additionally, I wrote a set of monitoring programs just in case of some type of timer failure. Using the parameter settings, I set the relay to automatically turn off after 12 hours. And my monitor program will watch for this and resync the switch back to off if this happens. Fireplace Resync Fireplace Query Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation!

eISY stuck in boot loop
It wasn't the answer I was hoping for, but my eISY is bricked. Mucho thanks to Michel Kohanim of UD support for his patience with me. He talked me through how to get a prompt to come up and be able to provide info for his diagnosis. Unit is being sent in for repair. Thanks again Michel!

eISY stuck in boot loop
I am curious if anyone else is having this issue. It happened yesterday (12/19/2023) after the east coast AWS internet outage that made the portal unavailable. I think an update was being pushed/installed at the same time (maybe, but not sure). Anyway, like many when I saw the portal was showing unavailable, I rebooted my ISY (after taking a backup). I tried a couple of times and at some point my eISY became completely unavailable. It stopped showing up in the Launcher and did not appear in the connected list in my router. I tried the button press reboots and still nothing. Then I tried the factory reset (knowing I had a backup). Still no luck, even after multiple attempts. I finally plugged it into a monitor to see what was happening and based on the screen display it is trying to boot, but failing. And once it fails, it just tries again and again. I was able to capture a few photos as the reboot was occurring, but it happens pretty quick, so I could not catch everything. Photos attached. I quickly ordered a new one that is on its way. And I have opened a ticket with UD hoping to salvage this fairly new device. But has anyone else dealt with this or a similar situation?

Portal offline with UniFi routers
I also started having issue starting around 3AM EST. I could access locally but not through the portal. I tried rebooting a couple of time but no luck. And now my eISY won't even connect to my local router. The IP address is not in the connected list. I have tried rebooting several time using the power and button press procedures but no luck. I am thinking I need a hard reset. Luckily I took a backup before everything went kablooie.

Eisy Gone Offline - Need Help
I also have two eISYs at two locations. One is still showing online with the portal so I don't think this is a portal issue. I worry that this might be an update issue. I also saw a brief message that an upgrade was in process before all of this happened.

Eisy Gone Offline - Need Help
I ran across this post because I am having the same issue - my eISY went offline last night. It was initially still showing in my local network but could not reach the UDI portal. I rebooted and now it won't even show up as attached to my router. I tried the button clicks to reset network, reboot (several times now) and still no luck, it is not attaching to my router. Not sure what else to try except a full reset. I'll wait to see if maybe it clears up but I am not hopeful.

Z wave device in scene not working
If the z-wave keypad you are referring to is the zooz zen32, I have found no way for the 4 buttons to work in a scene. The only way I have been able to get them to respond is using a program. I posted this a while ago outlining the procedures I used to interact with the buttons.

Keypadlinc Failures
I also prefer using a keypadlinc when I can. But when they became hard to find I installed several Zooz Z-Wave Zen32 keypads. I use them in out of the way areas like bedrooms. That frees up my precious keypadlincs for more conspicuous areas in our home. Using them with the ISY is a little tricky, the small buttons can only be recognized in programs, not scenes. I documented my use as a fan controller using the Insteon fanlinc. I solved the labeling issue by ordering custom plates from https://tedstuff.com/

Leak Sensor Question
I have several of the Insteon leak detectors. They work fine, but I always had 2 complaints. First, the one you mentioned, where you have to press the reset after it goes off. And second, it is battery only. One of our detectors needed to be used for a sump pump in a crawl space that was not easy to access. So I opted for a z-wave solution. This detector resets automatically and I can power it using a micro USB connector - so no batteries to die. It does require that you have the z-wave option in your ISY. What Switch/Dimmer to use in place of Insteon devices?
I found a guy on Etsy that makes custom plates. They are a high-quality metal and the cost ends up about the same as what the Insteon custom keys used to cost. They were great working with me. I tried zazzle.com but was not pleased with the quality or the look. Tedstuff | Modern, Elegant, and Fun Mailboxes and Light fixtures

What Switch/Dimmer to use in place of Insteon devices?
The Zooz Zen32 (available on Amazon and elsewhere) is a 5 button z-wave switch. It is a little different to program, but I have been able to configure them as fan controllers. Right now I plan to use them in bedrooms with ceiling fans - freeing up my precious keypadlinks for other locations - but I plan to investigate other uses. There are several other posts as well that discuss using these switches. Just search on "zen32".

In a tight spot, wtb keypads, swtichlincs, micros
I understand wanting to stay with keypads. They are a wonderful way to gain lots of functionality in a small footprint. I purchased a dozen (at $115 apiece - yikes!) a few months ago for a remodel we are in the middle of. Sorry - not willing to part with them. But you might take a look at the Zooz Zen32 (available on Amazon). It's a 5 button z-wave switch. I also started using z-wave relay modules when the Insteon inlinelincs became unavailable. I have had great results with those. And the smaller footprint is a plus. I have used both single and dual relays. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KQMGH7X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They work well in scenes. I don't connect them directly to dumb-switches (as they can) - I just use them for hidden control and connectivity. If your ISY does not already support z-wave, you can purchase the card from UD - that is what I did and it was an easy install. If you have the Polisy, you just need a z-wave dongle. Zooz makes one as well. You might need to initially invest in some z-wave repeaters depending on how far your z-wave devices are from your ISY. They are reasonably inexpensive. Zooz Zen32 as a fan controller
I didn't like the label maker option, so I used zazzle.com to custom design a wall plate. I ordered 3 and they came to about $14 per plate.

Zooz Zen32 as a fan controller
I initially purchased the Zooz Zen32 to use as a fan/light controller. I wanted something to turn a light on and off as well as control the fan speed. I couple this with the Insteon Fanlinc and this procedure focuses on that goal. I got the parameter settings that I use from the Zooz website. https://www.support.getzooz.com/kb/article/608-zen32-scene-controller-advanced-settings/ Things that I have noticed about the Zen32 The large primary button behaves just like any other Insteon button. Both scenes and programs recognize a status of ON or OFF. I plan to use this button for either the fan light, or any other light in the room. The smaller four button set does not behave like other Insteon buttons. Near as I can tell, the only place that recognizes it is in a program. And a program can only trigger based on a status of ON. I can't find anyway to trigger based on a status of OFF. So all you can really tell is that the button has been pressed. But that is useful. I am going to play around with using a program variable to track an ON/OFF status so that I can recognize ON and OFF - but not today. Today's goal was to control a fan. And I got that working. First things first Change the behavior of the LED on the primary button to be lit when on, and to not be lit when off. This more closely mimics the keypadlinc behavor as well as the behavior of the smaller buttons that I am implementing. Make sure to click "Set Configuration" to enact. This is optional depending on how you like your LED's to behave. Fan Control Similar to how a keypadlinc uses separate scenes for each fan speed, I created a program for each fan speed. As a button is pressed, the program will: 1) Set the appropriate fan speed 2) Turn on the LED for that button 3) Turn off the LED's for the other 3 buttons This will behave as "Radio" buttons - meaning the only button that is lit is the last one pressed. Fan Low Fan Med Fan High Fan Off Now, if they just offered custom etched keys. But I am going to try using my Dymo label maker using a clear tape. Hope this helps!

Duplicate alexa device entries
Ok. Is reporting to Amazon something you do? Not a huge issue for me right now since it is working but I appreciate the confirmation that there is nothing more I can do right now. Thanks for your help!

Duplicate alexa device entries
Still having the issue. Here is what I have done since my last post. 1) Executed the 'Forget All" - all devices were deleted in the Alexa page 2) Removed the V2 skill (the only ISY skill showing in my list) 3) Logged out of the Alexa/Amazon page 4) Went to ISY Portal page and unlinked my Amazon account 5) Deleted all echo devices/scenes/programs in the portal 6) Logged out of portal 7) Logged back into portal Relinked Amazon account in portal 9) Added an echo scene in portal (just one) 10) Logged into the Alexa page 11) Added the V2 skill 12) Executed a discover 13) Two devices showing in Alexa device page (which works fine) Screen shots attached. echo2.pdf Not sure what else I can do other than maybe delete and re-add my isy994i device on the portal. But I was not sure if you can easily delete and re-add the isy994i device.

Duplicate alexa device entries
Thanks, will give that a try and report back in the morning. It is frustrating....

Duplicate alexa device entries
I have executed the "Forget All" multiple times. And it shows no devices after that Then I execute the "Discover" and it always comes back with 12 devices, double the 6 I have configured.

Duplicate alexa device entries
I just upgraded from isy994i to isy994iPro. I had my older isy994i working fine with alexa using the older V1 skill. I have deleted my old isy and added my new one in the isy portal. Unlinked the isy skill and relinked the newer V2. Got everything linked, re-added my entries in the isy portal and then executed the discovery in the amazon alexa app. Now the problem. For every entry in the isy portal, there are two devices entries in the alexa device page. My echo works fine, it is just annoying that for 6 isy entries I have 12 devices. I do not have multiple spoken word entries. I have executed the forget all and then rediscover. Whether it is a device, a scene or a program, two devices appear. I am attaching a document with screen shots of my portal entries and my alexa device listing. Any thoughts here? What am I missing? echo.pdf
