Easier to find "new" posts

Hi,

Help locating new posts-

I use and enjoy my ISY 994i. I also really appreciate the forum and member contributions to shared knowledge on ISY, Insteon and other products/software etc.

I don't check the ISY forum every day, and when I do, I look for "new" postings in particular sub-forums so I can rapidly catch-up.

I find it hard to locate "new" postings. There are often "sticky" posts up-top before any new post. I find the ICON for stick posts to be very similar to "regular/new" posts. Also, the stick posts are not in a special "area/location," just first.

When I look at other forums - with sticky posts, I see a few differences:

Sticky post has very different ICON

Sticky post is different color

Sticky posts are in a special area (bordered, italic, font etc)

I'd like to see the stick posts changed so that I can find the new posts more easily.

Thanks

I'm using the Subsilver theme for the forum and find it quite usable. If you want to change, go to the user control panel, board prefrences and set the theme to Subsilver.

I also use the "Unread Posts" link in the upper right to see all of the new posts that I have not yet read.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies.

I am lazy and looking for the easiest on-the-eye, fastest/fewest click/page loads to get to particular "new" sub forum content.

I hardly ever logon to the forum. - I believe I need to logon to change color schemes.

When I click on "view new posts" I see stuff in sub forums I don't frequent (like Brultech; I have a TED device).

So I click on the sub forums of interest and then find I spend some time searching by eye to find the newest post that is not a sticky post.

For example:

One click

Current Release, Betas, and Bug Reports

One click

Release 4.0.5 Is Now Official

Then to navigate to the last/newest post requires seeing how many pages (currently eight) and clicking on the last page

Yet another click and navigation challenge for me

While this is certainly a minor issue with the forum/forum software - it is an issue I don't see too often with other forums/forum software.

I continue to find this forum very useful.

I didn't used to log in either but logging in makes it a lot easer to see new posts and once your done looking at the sections of interest you can click to mark the forum as read so the next time only new posts are highlighted again.
