Error Log Question

Can someone help me. I am trying to understand the ISY Error Log.

I can not find error code 170001 in the user guide.

The User Guide does list Error code "-170000 WEB_MODULE_NO_FREE_SPACE" but what is error code 170001. My Error log is mostly making up of this error.

Example of the log entry:

Fri 2013/10/04 01:00:54 System -170001 [HTTP] 192.168.1.133:59177->80

Fri 2013/10/04 02:01:02 System -170001 [HTTP] 192.168.1.133:59218->80

Fri 2013/10/04 03:01:10 System -170001 [HTTP] 192.168.1.133:59256->80

Thanks for the help.

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry but I still do not understand these messages:

Fri 2013/10/04 01:00:54 System -170001 [HTTP] 192.168.1.133:59177->80

Fri 2013/10/04 02:01:02 System -170001 [HTTP] 192.168.1.133:59218->80

Fri 2013/10/04 03:01:10 System -170001 [HTTP] 192.168.1.133:59256->80

They came from the error log and I do not see a corresponding message in the event log looking at level 3. If they are informational messages what information are they trying to convey?

Until Michel jumps in again, the 170001 message number has many possible texts associate with it. 170001 is a placeholder message number the ISY uses for informational messages that are primarily for UDI usage. If there is a problem that requires UDI assistance the 170001 messages provide additional data to help UDI evaluate the problem. These are informational messages, progress messages, activity messages, indicate how far a particular piece of code has executed, etc which do not themselves indicate any failure but can be helpful to UDI. They can be ignored. They should occur only when the event trace is running at LEVEL 3.

Hi LeeG, as always, you are 100% correct.

Hi nokin, in your case, these are HTTP requests to ISY :

192.168.1.133:59177->80

192.168.1.133= source IP address

59177= source port

80= ISY port

So, someone/something from 192.168.1.133 at port 59177 called the http port (80) on ISY. This information becomes valuable if you have hackers bombarding ISY so you will know their IP address/port.

With kind regards,

Michel

Thanks for reply Michel! Your info helped a lot, I am learning, but I still have not been able to determine where the requests are coming from. I know enough to know that IP address 192.168.1.xxx is my local router. I can not determine which devise is 133. At this point I am just curious.

Log in to the router/modem. It should list the local IP addresses in use and the MAC address of the device assigned 133. The Host Name may also give a clue.

Hi LeeG,

After a bit of hunting around inside the router I found the DHCP Client Table. Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction. As it turns out the offender is my Asus Netbook. The really important thing is I learned something. Thanks!
