ZANDER Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I was looking for a remote Temp/Humidity to trigger events based on humidity. I want to have the bathroom fan automatically turn on when the humidity is above a certain level. There are a couple options I know of but don't give me everything I want. I could go with a wireless Insteon Thermometer, but it is huge and from what I have read on the forum, may not be the most reliable. This would be about $80. Second, I could go with Minotaur Engineering IHS Humidity Sensor/Controller and an Insteon I/O Linc. This does not gvie you readings and only can be set up for one high and low set point. This is $130. I also read about a one wire system. This requires a lot of setup and multiple other items. I don't know exactly how this system works, but it would cost about $200. So, I found the ZigBee ZBHT-2 Temperature and Humidity Sensor. It is only $70. It is small and operates of two AA batteries. It is not currently supported, but I think it would be a great addition. Anyone agree?
autelis Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 There is user here that utilizes our serial & 1-wire interface for a similar function. It does not require much setup and supports up to 32 sensors. Please check out our subforum here: viewforum.php?f=78 and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
