accessha Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I recently updated the firmware on my Elk M1G to 5.1.8. From within the ISY I can control the Elk (arm, disarm, etc.) However, I can’t control the ISY from the Elk side. So all of my Elk rules no longer function and I can’t control any lights from the Elk web interface. The Elk Ethernet adapter is running firmware: 1.2.12 and ISY firmware: 2.6.4 Any thought I why this is happening?
Michel Kohanim Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 accessha, Is it possible that ELK has forgotten the ISY export? Would you be kind enough to re-export ELK configuration and let me know the outcome? With kind regards, Michel I recently updated the firmware on my Elk M1G to 5.1.8. accessha Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 Hi Michel, That was the first thing I tried. I've also attempted to power cycle the Elk and the ISY.
dlamb Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 accessha, I take it that the M1 is disconnected from ELK-RP and that the "OPT" boxes are checked. To troubleshoot; please try turning the light(s) on and off from the M1 Keypad's "Lighting" menu (menu 2 under the View/Control Automation Fncts) and let me know if that works. Thanks, Don Lamb ELK Products

dlamb Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 accessha, I'm running M1G v5.1.8 with ISY-26 v2.6.2 and my M1G is controlling the lights. Double check to make sure that port 2101 is enabled in the M1XEP setup. But, I guess if you're able to arm and disarm from the ISY, the port must already be enabled. Hmm, I'll try updating the ISY to v2.6.4 and see if there is a difference. Don Lamb ELK Products
dlamb Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Hi accessha, I updated my ISY to v2.6.4 and still can control the Insteon lights from the M1G through the ISY. I'm not exactly sure what could be causing your problem. You might try reverting back to the old M1G firmware and seeing if starts working again. In the meantime I'll try to think of other ideas. Guest Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I am running the latest ELK firmware Version 5.1.8 on the M1 and 2.6.2 on my ISY26. Other than an occasional constant flashing of a light that is triggered by the ELK it is working fine. Double check your rules to insure that they coincide correctly with the lights you wish to trigger. At a friends house we saw that when he reloaded the ISY Export file. Just a thought. Good Luck!
accessha Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. I decided to revert back to 2.6.2 on the ISY and everything is working fine now. Maybe I’ll try 2.6.4 again tomorrow.
edfinley Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I had the same problem but found a workaround. if you open Elk RM and go the lighting page it reestablishes the connection. Another option is to open the web page from the M1EXP and go to its lighting page. Every time I use Elk RP I go into RM and it reconnects. Ed
