wuench Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Is there a way to filter the devices exported to the elk or edit the House/Unit codes? I am editing the XML file and removing devices I don't want in the elk, but that leaves me with big gaps in the House/Unit code list. Would be nice if I could assign my own codes under properties, or do something else to keep things contiguous. Also, I am worried about eventually running out of space in the elk, and leaving gaps.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Hello wuench, Unfortunately there's no way to accomplish this feat at the moment. We are considering a configuration utility for all the clients (such as the quite impressive one by interfaceGo) but we have not yet decided how to go about designing it. With kind regards, Michel Is there a way to filter the devices exported to the elk or edit the House/Unit codes? Guest Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Would it be possible to put a checkbox in the GUI and only those devices with the box selected are exported to the ELK file?
Michel Kohanim Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Hi Digger, Very possible ... we are working on a solution that works with every client and not just ELK. Hopefully, it'll address all requirements. With kind regards, Michel Would it be possible to put a checkbox in the GUI and only those devices with the box selected are exported to the ELK file?
edfinley Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Is there a way to sort the export file? I'm ending up with things scattered all over the place. Ed
Michel Kohanim Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Hello edfinley, I really prefer not adding logic to ISY for presentation specific features just for one of the type of clients ISY supports (ELK). Instead, we are trying to come up with a generic configuration file which all presentation clients can use. As such, unless sorting/organizing the elements is trivial, we shall hold off. With kind regards, Michel Is there a way to sort the export file? I'm ending up with things scattered all over the place.Ed
Guest Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I did the following to make it easier to know which devices I wanted to enable the "SHow" feature in the ELK. For any device I want to control via the ELK RM or ethernet adaptor online GUI I put an asterisk as the first digit in the name of the device. This way if I had any switches also controlled by a scene or a keypadlinc button etc I would know which one actually was the device controlling the load. I dont know why I did not think of this months ago. I was able to clean up the whole lighting GUI in the ELK in about 15 minutes worth of time renaming and reloading into the ELK.
edfinley Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Thanks for the hints. I put the * ahead of the units and that should help. I'm having to do a work around to get the export file imported to ELK since upgrading my firmware to 2.6.5. I'm getting a truncated ELK export file. Internet explorer shows the following error: The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following tags were not closed: nodes, group. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/temp/ELK-Export.xml'. If I manually close the tags I'm still missing some of the groups, but I can get ELK to import it.
Michel Kohanim Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 edfinley, This is a known issue; in the meantime, please use http://www.universal-devices.com/99i and you should not have any problems. edfinley Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I figured you would be on top of it. Thanks again for your work on this product. It has been 100% reliable and dependable since all your improvements. Best regards, Ed
