fyi: I am VERY new to the isy

When I open device manager I see three columns. my devices, my scenes, my folders. when i click the configurations icon, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong.

Devices I expected to have conectability:

FIOS box connected to global cache.

PS3 connected to modem via ethernet

Logitech Harmony Hub

When I go into Link management then Start Linking, nothing happens. no error message. nothing. is there something i have to do on the control end? i thought that since my ps3 (via ethernet) and my tv & Fios box (via the gc100) were connected to the network that they would show up automatically. Am i missing a step?

The ISY does not list devices on the local LAN.

Also when Start Linking is clicked a popup window should display. The lack of the popup window could indicate an issue with the AV being used. What AV is in use?

is there a link that explains how to go through the global cache to harmony…or can you outline how to do that.

What Harmony do you have? I do believe some of the new ones have network accessibility.

Anyway, you need the ISY network module to send any network commands to anything. I know for a fact that you can send network commands from ISY to GC units as I have one of the wf2ir models. I have a harmony 890, but it has no network accessibility.

Hi modex,

I do not think you have purchased the correct unit. ISY is an INSTEON/X10/Zigbee (and lately Z-Wave) controller. You can use network resources to communicate with devices on the network. This said, the focus is INSTEON and Z-Wave.

Do you have a PLM attached to ISY? If so, can you tell me what you get when you go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Info/Status?

With kind regards,

Michel
