garybixler Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Hi Just wondering if there will be any ping capability in the network module at anytime. thanks Gary
Michel Kohanim Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Hi Gary, There should be .. the only problem has always been that the network module is NOT bi-directional and thus the value of the ping is lost. Are you looking for only a ping (one way) or did you want to do anything with the results? With kind regards, Michel
garybixler Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Hi I was hoping to be able to ping small WiFi modules located in vehicles to determine their presence or absence. It would require being able to receive the response. Thanks
Michel Kohanim Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Hi garybixler, Thanks so very much. This should be available in our 5.0 release as we add bidirectional communications to the network module. With kind regards, Michel
kaphely Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Hi garybixler, Thanks so very much. This should be available in our 5.0 release as we add bidirectional communications to the network module. With kind regards, Michel Really looking forward for that 5.0 release! Really seems promising. Any hint on approximately when we can get our hands on a beta of it? Please, please, please tell us more!
Michel Kohanim Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi kaphely, We are even more eager to get to 5.0. Originally, we were going to put all Z-Wave bug fixes and enhancements (such as routing/healing) into 5.0 but decided against it as it would make our 4.1.x official release not robust. So, it should be quickly after 4.1.x official release. With kind regards, Michel
garybixler Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Hi Michel Super good news. Thanks Gary
