smokegrub Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I am setting up my ISY and have encountered a problem with access using the external IP address. The app loads and gives me access to my devices and scenes but when I attempt to access the admin console I get the message "Error. Click for details." When I click I get the following: Java Plug-in 10.51.2.13 Using JRE version 1.7.0_51-b13 Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM User home directory = /Users/dwheeler ---------------------------------------------------- c: clear console window f: finalize objects on finalization queue Resource http://crl.globalsign.net/root.crl has future expires: Wed Jan 29 15:57:58 EST 2014 update check skipped. g: garbage collect h: display this help message l: dump classloader list m: print memory usage o: trigger logging q: hide console r: reload policy configuration s: dump system and deployment properties t: dump thread list v: dump thread stack x: clear classloader cache 0-5: set trace level to ----------------------------------------------------
Michel Kohanim Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Hi smokegrub, I am so very sorry. Two choices: 1. Upgrade to 4.1.2 (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=13338) OR 2. Use http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/4.1.2/admin.jnlp With kind regards, Michel
smokegrub Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 When I click on that URL or load it directly in the browser I get no action.
oberkc Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Are you on your home network (same network as ISY) or outside?
larryllix Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Try this one http://isy/admin.jnlp It installed the nice direct, via Java icon on my desktop so I don't have to go through the browser load each time. This is the way the old one worked. Works much better.
smokegrub Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Yes, I am on my home Wi-Fi and testing the external URL. I tried the URL and Safari said it could not find the server.
LeeG Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 The WiFi is on the local LAN. The ability to send an external IP address on the LAN side depends on whether your router supports that. Does your router accept an external IP address from the LAN? Since it did not work it sounds like no.
smokegrub Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 It did when I used the SmartLinc. In fact, I never used the internal IP while at home or away; I always used the external IP. The router is an Airport Extreme.
Michel Kohanim Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi smokegrub, If you are on Safari, it goes into your download folder (down arrow at the top right corner). Click on the admin.jnlp. If you are still having problems, please do not hesitate to submit a ticket. With kind regards, Michel
smokegrub Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 I now have an icon on the desktop that takes me directly to the admin console. Will I be able to use that icon when I am not home, i.e., will it give me remote access?
Michel Kohanim Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Hi smokegrub, Yes, but you will have to click on the Add button and then copy/paste the Remote URL to your ISY. With kind regards, Michel
smokegrub Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Michel: I am sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you with this question, but I have been in and out of the hospital. Where and how do I post the URL?
Xathros Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Hi smokegrub- Open the admin console using the applet on your desktop. After it opens, minimize the console screen. You should find the smaller ISY Finder screen hiding behind the console. Click the Add button and filling the URL for your ISY using the external IP address or DynDNS address. -Xathros
