Remote Access Error

Featured Replies

When accessing my ISY 99i (Version 2.6.6) remotely over the internet, I attach to the ISY fine and get to the menu "Devices | Scenes | Programs | Administrative Console". All work fine except for the Adminstrative Console. When I select the Admnistrative console it launches but then an error box pops up saying I have a Java socket error.

The administrative console works fine when I attach through my local network, just not remotely. What am I missing?

jwagner,

If you dismiss the Java socket error, are you able to access the Administrative Console?

Are you using the same computer for both local and remote access? If it is a different machine, please check your version of Java on the remote access machine.

Not sure if"updating" will clear the cache. Try clearing it and see what happens.

Hello jwagner010,

I apologize for the inconvenience. Two questions:

1. Are you using port 443 (HTTPS)?

2. Is it possible that you have any other devices on your network to which port 443 has been forwarded?

Also, if you wish, you can send your URL to tech@universal-devices.com and let us take a look.

With kind regards,

Michel

Yes I cleared the Cache. Still get the error.

Michel,

The issue appears to be either a firewall or VPN issue on my end. Either way easist solution for me is to use other internet access options.

Thanks

Hello jwagner010,

I totally understand. But, in all cases, if you change ISY's secure port (from 443 to some unknown port such as 8443) then you will experience less of these problems.

With kind regards,

Michel
