Java error

I had to rebuild my computer (Win 7) and I loaded the newest Java release. When I go to startup my web interface (www.universal-devices.com/00i) I get a java error:

ClassNotFoundException    com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class

I've uninstalled Java and reinstalled it. I have added the address to the Java trusted list in the Java console. What am I missing??

Java console report:  Missing Application-Name manifest attribute for: http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/4.2.17/insteon.jar

When I logged in from this link (successfully) I got a whole list of errors related to basically every module in the house. I am going to restart the ISY and see what happens.

I can get in when I use the http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.1.2/admin.jnlp address. Now I am getting a PLM error message. I've restarted the ISY. Going to research the dead PLM. Still don't know why the other link does not work.

I'm using Java 1.8 with 4.2.16 on Win 8.1 devices, both 32- and 64-bit.

I a also using Java 8 u25 on Win 7 x64 with ISY 4.2.17 and it works fine.  I would say it works more reliably than my Java 7 on another computer. Java 8 has self-updated more than three times now and now self-cleans all old versions of Java. Welcome to the 90's, Java!

Hello everyone,

The only issue with Java 1.8 was related to certificate generation which we fixed in 4.2.17. Please do make sure you are using the correct UI. The following URL should always work (in case you have not upgraded your ISY yet):

http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/admin.jnlp... this will always point to the latest UI

With kind regards,

Michel
