Creating new scene

Hi All,

I am a new user of the ISY-26 to control my INSTEON devices(replaced all the X10 devices in my house(>30). I am currently using version 2.4 of the i/f (device came w/ 2.3 and I upgraded). Let me start by saying how GREAT this product is. I have had almost no problems replacing my old X10 houshold w/ Insteon and getting everything to work reliably (I have very little hair left trying to get X10 to work to the same degree of reliablity (':D')).

What I was wondering is if the following is possible (and I am doing something wrong) or whether this might be a new feature request.

What I wanted to do was: Select multiple devices (using mouse Ctrl click) and then click the new scene button with expected result of: 1) i/f requesting scene name AND auto populating new named scene w/ selected devices, OR possibly right mousing and selecting "move to scene" with an item in the scene list that maybe would say "create new scene...", OR in right mouse menu having a "create new scene..." item..

Currently, it seems like you have to create the empty scene first, then select one or more devices and then either drag/drop OR right mouse/"move to scene"? As I was setting up all my scenes (>10) this just seemed backwards (IMHO (''))

I see from other posts about the upcoming V2.5 that most of my other issues look like they will be taken care of in that release ( being able to trigger/hold a schedule via a Kepad/Control Linc button, X10 control for those few devices which insteon still doesn't have a solution for [ IR, outlet w/ integreated relay]).

From one H/W S/W deveolper to another... keep up the good work.

Thanx in advance,

Richard L. Nichols II

Mr. Nichols,

First of all, apologies for a tardy reply.

To be honest, we never thought about it and now that I read your post, it makes 100% sense: we are doing things backwards! Your requirement has been added to our list and shall be reviewed and implemented as time/resources permit (after 2.5).

Release 2.5 Beta is ready and is being sent to a select few who are interested in our Beta. If you are interested, please send an email to tech@unviersal-devices.com. In short, these are the new features:

1. X10 support ... you can trigger X10 devices or use them as triggers

2. Trigger schedules and schedule triggers

3. Add wait, repeat, random to your sequences

+ a lot more.

Thanks so very much for your feedback,

With kind regards,

Michel
