kal357 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Please help I have tried every thing.. any firmware after 4.0.5 always uses https and is VERY slow..If I flash back to 4.0.5 works fine. 4.2.18 is even slower. Had my woman outside for 8 min waiting for the door to unlock If I put it on local its super fast. I have contacted wes at mobilinc but this dont make sence so I hope someone here can help. android 4.4.4 tried different ports all security levels even dhcp no change
Michel Kohanim Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Hi kal357, What do you mean by "any firmware after 4.0.5 uses https"? is this a MobiLinc feature or, if not, what is it? And 8 minutes just does not make sense. Actually it's pretty much impossible unless you are coming in through 3G/4G and bad signal reception. The only difference between 4.0.5 and 4.0.18 is that we no longer support SSL due to a huge security hole (POODLE). We now use TLS1.0 but, even then, there should really be no performance impact. With kind regards, Michel
kal357 Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 The only way I can get mobilinc to see isy internal is to put settings to local only, otherwise it uses external https even on Auto. I notice external time has increased a lot too. wes from mobilinc thinks it a upnp problem. just don't understand 4.0.5 works perfect
Michel Kohanim Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Hi kal357, I think there are two issues here: 1. MobiLinc cannot find ISY locally ... this may have nothing to do with either ISY or MobiLinc. 4.2.8 has been tested with MobiLinc so auto detect should work 2. As far as longer times for external: -- Did you install a new certificate? -- 4.0.5 might have used SSL which is deemed inscure so 4.2.18 forces TLS1.0. Again, as long as you have not changed certificates and/or network security strength, this should have no visible impact With kind regards, Michel
kal357 Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 I can live with long external times how can i fix local other than using local only settng? (this may have nothing to do with either ISY or MobiLinc) but works fine on 4.0.5 I'm stumped nothing has changed and this has worked fine for a long long time? thank you for your time
Michel Kohanim Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Hi kal357, Sincere apologies for tardy reply. Have you recently reverted to 4.0.5 and see if it works? I really do not know what else to suggest. With kind regards, Michel
kal357 Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 yes it does but newer devices need newer firmware I know this has got me at a loss I have put tons of time into this
Michel Kohanim Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 kal357, Does your ISY's IP address change between 4.0.5 and 4.2.8? Please note that if you go to Admin Console/Configuration tab and check UPNP then 4.2.8 should be identical to 4.0.5. With kind regards, Michel
kal357 Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 nope static.. everything is the same.. Ive tried differnt ports, flashed firmware on router , diasble upnp on isy, disable upnp on router, re enabled both one at a time too, rebooted all devices every time I made a change (power off too) even tried dhcp.... tried on a iphone seems to work fine???? router WRT1900AC, phone sony z3v, same result on my motorolla maxx hd 4.4.4 & 4.4.2 checked network with fing all ports work correct. I am out of options of what to do
Michel Kohanim Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Hi kal357, Does the ISY IP address change or does it remain the same. What do you mean by "tried on a iphone seems to work fine????"? Aren't you using iPhone or is this Android? With kind regards, Michel
kal357 Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 no it does not change stays the same static yes this is an android 1st post
Michel Kohanim Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Hi kal357, Ah, Android. Is it by any chance Android 5.0? With kind regards, Michel
Michel Kohanim Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 kal357, I am so very sorry but I am running out of suggestions: 1. Your iPhone finds ISY properly 2. Your Admin Console finds ISY properly 3. Android does not So, I would have to conclude that there's something going on either with Android or MobiLinc. Can you get to ISY locally (on the local network and NOT remotely) using Chrome on your device? With kind regards, Michel
kal357 Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 yes I can thats why i thought it was MobiLinc but wes said it wasnt.. ive tried on other verisons of android same result. I could not take the problems any more so now im on 4.0.5 and its working fine.. I wish this could be figured out. I am pretty good at networking but this is out of my hands. anyone have any ideas that dont involve a hammer lol
Michel Kohanim Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Hi kal357, Do you have other Android devices? This is just so strange. Can you tell me whether or not yiur ISY is configured with a static IP address? With kind regards, Michel
kal357 Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 yes I tried on another device that was known good working same thing.. static is my setup but I also tried dhcp no change
Michel Kohanim Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Ok.Consulting with Mobilinc. With kind regards, Michel
LeeFleishman Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I too have been experiencing this anomaly. Same conditions / environment as reported by previous posters: After upgrade from 4.0.5, MobiLinc (on Android 4.1.2) refuses to connect locally when connect method is set to Auto Detect...always connects via https://. Reverting back to 4.0.5 restores ability to connect via http:// (on home's wifi). Also experienced the anomaly at a client's system after upgrading ISY firmware to 4.2.18. Michel Kohanim Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Hello everyone, I had an email exchange with Mobilinc and I think may have been able to duplicate the problem. I am hopeful that a solution will be forthcoming. With kind regards, Michel
kal357 Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 also is it normal for insteon t-stat to not update temp no matter what unless i click refresh? BTW. nice to see others report this thought I was the only one
Michel Kohanim Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 kal357, MobiLinc is working on it. No, you should see instantaneous updates from the thermostat. Please right mouse click | Restore Device ... hopefully that will fix it. With kind regards, Michel
InsteonNut Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Hi Folks, We've got the auto-detect issue fixed in the 2.0.3 release: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/15291-mobilinc-android-203-is-now-available/ Wes
