Eug Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I recently registered a RemoteLinc with my ISY. All of my Insteon devices are from an existing Homeseer-controlled system with lots of links. I used the "New Insteon Device" method of adding the RemoteLinc so that my existing links would not be erased. In all of the scenes in which this RemoteLinc is a member, it's shown in blue (responder). In the membership tree view, it appears "managed by" other devices and the "manages" branch is always empty. This is with version 2.6.8 of the firmware.

When you linked the RemoteLinc using New INSTEON Device, did you Auto Discover, or did you select (2483) Icon RemoteLinc?

Please try removing the RemoteLinc from ISY and adding it back as an Icon RemoteLinc, to see if its buttons are added as controllers to the scenes.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hello Eug, The reason for seeing your RL buttons as responders is that, in all likelihood, the previous application did not create master links for the RL, in the other devices. Did this ever work? With kind regards, Michel Not sure how you have 2.6.8, as it's not yet released. It was emailed to me when I was having a firmware update problem. Hi Michel, I'm not sure what you mean by "master links for the RL", but for what it's worth, when readding the RL and explicitly stating the device type, as suggested by Darrell, it worked fine. I should also point out that the existing links were created directly on the devices, with no software intervention.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Hi Eug, This is quite strange and it can be explained only in two ways: 1. A bug in ISY 2. A defective RL Do you have this problem even if you factory reset your RL? Do you use Link Management->Link a RemoteLinc?
