inconsistent KeypadLinc button toggling

I apologize if this is well-documented and/or discussed, but I haven't had much success in finding any definitive answers or people reporting the same problem.

What is the expected behavior of a KPL button in non-toggle on mode? Is it expected to blink/flash a couple times before ultimately remaining on?

I ask because... I have inconsistent behavior with another button on the same KPL! The other button controls a different scene with similar settings and also uses non toggle on mode. It remains on all the time and when pressed does not blink at all.

I just migrated to the ISY from the Insteon Hub where I had similar scenes setup and the buttons never blinked when set to always on.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks!

It is an 8-button KPL (2334-2) v.43.

Button B is my "I'm Home!" scene controller which turns on most lights. It is set to non-toggle on. When I press it, everything turns on, the button blinks, and then the other buttons on the KPL which are responders turn on to reflect their status.

Button H is my "Sleep" scene controller which turns off most lights. It is also set to non-toggle on. When I press it, everything turns off and the button does not blink, but stays on the entire time.

Seems really strange to me.

I also have an "Away" scene controller (button G) which is similar to sleep but turns off everything in my condo. It behaves exactly as I described for button H.

Are you using scenes, programs or both? If both, then which for which?

The most common cause for a button to blink is a half-link. That means that the button is linked to a device that has been removed or that it can't reach. Any device that is a responder to or controller of the scene is a link. Run a scene test. Does any device not respond?

Unfortunately my 8 button 2334-222 v.43 blinks buttons B and G and H when in non-toggle On mode or non-toggle Off mode.

What ISY firmware is being used?  (Help | About for Firmware and UI levels)

Thanks Stu!

I replaced a KPL with a new one and used the ISY's function to replace the device and the scene's button would flash. This was driving me crazy and I searched endless for why it was behaving this way. I did a scene diagnostic and some devices were failing, so I right clicked on the failed devices and did a restore.
