Grizzy Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Since I installed the admin console , updated Java 6 months ago it has functioned without a problem. I have always started it from an desktop icon on windows 7 Yesterday it began acting strange, after clicking the icon there was a delay, then the JAVA logo appeared and a progress bar started running. After about 15 sec. the admin console finally came up. This happens now every time I run the admin console. I have not changed anything or done any updates to explain the possible cause. I have rebooted win7 several times with same results. Although it still works, the delay is getting very frustrating. I would appreciate any suggestions on how I can get my admin console back the way it was. Thanks Everyone Don

Teken Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Java 6? The latest Java 8. I took Don's reply that he upgraded the Java application six months ago. But, I can see how it could be taken as he is running Java v6.

After reading install procedure, I installed Java 8 and then installed the admin console and everything was working fine. I did the original install about 6 months ago. I am using win7. I have not seen anything else unusual with my computer. Don

Michel Kohanim Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Hi Grizzy, If you are using our website URL (admin.jnlp), then every time you bring up ISY Finder, Java checks the date and certificate for all the files. If there are network issues or too much load on the server, then I can see there being a delay. You can always use the Admin Console directly from ISY using your browser (http://isy/admin) and this should be quite fast. With kind regards, Michel

It caused Java to do an upgrade to v8.40 Afterwards it was slower to load from the above link. Loading from the desktop icon still displays Java and a progress bar and it still slow to start the admin console (now The Java Logo is blue, before it was a red logo) Don

Please clear the Java cache and select all check box's while doing so. Often times strange behavior is attributed to this one conflict. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

Thank You All for your help. Don If you use another (older) link for a previous Beta firmware this too can cause untold issues. The UI / Firmware in the *About* in all cases should match and be identical. This single conflict has in the past resolved many random issues not explainable. If you're in doubt and the *About* still indicates a conflict with what you actually have. I would humbly suggest you perform the upgrade again and than clear the java cache including all check box's. At that time you will use the most current link that is associated to that firmware release to access the Admin Console.

From reports UI has a good record on new releases, so I feel good there. I kinda believe if it's not broke don,t fix it. I'm sort of slow to jump at every new thing that emerges from a rapid changing technology.
