mykanderson Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 I finally got my thermostat! I added it to my ISY and all looked good. I was able to manually control the thermostat thru the admin console. But the two issues I have are: I can't control it thru programs. The thermostat shows no status in MobiLinc.

mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 1 Morning - [iD 003F][Parent 002B] If On Mon Time is 6:00:00AM Then Set 'Automation / Music Room / Thermastat / Music Room - Main' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Android MobiLinc needs to have a new image captured from ISY in Setup|Light Controller when a new device is added.
stusviews Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Hmm, I don't see an On for the thermostat. There is Fan Off, Fan On, Mode Off, Mode Heat, Mode Cool, Mode Auto, Mode Fan, Mode Program Auto, Mode Program Heat and Mode Program Cool. Is "Automation / Music Room / Thermastat / Music Room - Main," a scene? If so, what are the contents of the scene?
mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 This is not in a scene. I've tried putting it in a scene and I still get the same options as I stated above. I've also tried putting it in a scene with the 'cold control' and 'heat control'. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 INSTEON 2732-242 Thermostat For Heat Pump Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
stusviews Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Cold Control and Heat Control do not affect the thermostat at all. The thermostat is the controller for Cold Control and Heat Control. Then Cold Control and Heat Control become the controlllers for whatever you want to respond when you call for cool or heat. But I'm still confuse about, Set 'Automation / Music Room / Thermastat / Music Room - Main' On. There's Heat On, Cool On plus the others I mentioned, above. There is not an On without specifying what mode you want on.
mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Yeah, I'm as confused as you are. I'd assume that's what's supposed to be there but it's not. That's why I'm wondering if it supports the new thermostat. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
stusviews Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I'm not at all confused by the thermostat, only by your program. A simple On for the thermostat is not missing, it makes no sense. Because there are several settings that can be turned on, when you turn the thermostat on, you must specify if you want heat, cool or something else. That's true even if you turn the thermostat on manually. However, off is off, so you can set the thermostat to Mode Off. I'm not even sure how you created the program you have listed above. There is not an On option for the thermostat.
mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 That's why I'm confused. I don't have the settings you are talking about. When I add the thermostat to my program then statement I get the following options: On Off Fast On Fast Off Query (Beep Duration) (Backlight Level) If I add a scene with only the thermostat in it I get the following options: On Off Fast On Fast Off Bright Dim Beep Fade up Fade down Fade stop Query It's acting like a light. paulbates Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 How did you add it, Linking Mode, or NEW Insteon Device? There are a number of options for the Heatpump version, even multiple models, Thermostat 2.0 (?) . Have you tried manually adding it using one of these?
mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 New insteon device then I put in the address and let it auto discover. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
paulbates Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I would suggest trying again picking v1 and/or v2 from the drop down list. Paul
stusviews Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Is this what your thermostat icon looks like?
mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 That is what mine looks like Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
stusviews Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 These are some of the the available options:
mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 The only way I get those options is if I add it to a scene and add a z-wave Smoke detector in the scene with it. No this does not fix the issue. I did find a work around by setting up multiple scenes with just the thermostat in it. Then I turn scenes on through program 'then' statements. stusviews Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 That's strange. Z-Wave devices have nothing to do with Insteon. The choices should be available for both programs and scenes even if there's no other device in the scene.
mykanderson Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 That's what I thought. I'm still having the issue of its hit and miss whether or not the entire display shows up on the thermostat in MobiLinc. I hope I don't have a bad thermostat. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
stusviews Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 If the thermostat appears correctly with the ISY, but not on MobiLinc, then the problem is not the thermostat. The heat pump thermostat is somewhat new. You might want to notify Wes about your problem, he really takes time out to solve problems.
