December 12, 20159 yr I currently have an ADT Pulse security system with two Z-Wave devices. Is it possible to integrate these Z-Wave devices with my ISY994? I'm not familiar with Z-Wave (I just installed the Z-Wave module in my ISY994 and started playing around with it a few hours ago) and I'm trying to understand how it works. It seems I can have these Z-Wave devices be a part of my ISY configuration, or a part of my ADT Pulse configuration. What I would like to do is see these Z-Wave devices from both my ISY and ADT Pulse systems at the same time. Is that possible? Thanks for any help you can offer me!
December 12, 20159 yr A Z-Wave device can only belong to only one "Home" network. So, the answer is no, it will respond to either your ISY device or your alarm system but not both.
December 13, 20159 yr Hi Andy, You are correct but ISY can be a secondary controller to ADT (or ADT secondary controller to ISY). With kind regards, Michel
December 13, 20159 yr Author Michel, Where can I find information about setting up the ISY to be a secondary controller to ADT? Thanks for your help!

February 26, 20169 yr Michel, Thanks for your help. It's working great! Baja, Can you tell me what you did on your ADT Pulse GUI to get the ISY to be recognized as a (secondary) controller-I seem to be missing something here...
March 24, 20169 yr Hello, I currently have ADT Pulse and am looking to add the ISY994iZw/IR PRO controller so I can use my existing Z-wave devices (over 30) and have the option to add Insteon devices, with the eventual intent of getting rid of ADT Pulse and only using the ISY with MobiLinc. I'm fed up with ADT's lack of updates, broken promises for IFTTT, app-based voice control, etc. Anyway, enough with my rant. My question is, CAN I designate the ISY as the primary controller making ADT secondary? I see in the instructions that I need to tell my primary controller (ADT Pulse) to relinquish primary control, but I don't see any way to do that using Pulse's minimally-configurable interface/ecosystem. Has anyone tried this yet? Obviously, with ISY's more advanced features and abilities to also add Insteon products, I want to make ISY primary. Thanks for any help! Brad
March 25, 20169 yr Hi Brad, This is definitely doable because, otherwise, they would not be Z-Wave certified. The main question is whether or not you can get them to let you know how to accomplish that. September 10, 20178 yr Can you tell me what you did on your ADT Pulse GUI to get the ISY to be recognized as a (secondary) controller-I seem to be missing something here... Anybody??? IIRC, Pulse really doesn't see the ISY. I took all my devices out from ADT control as their software SUCKS. But, when I was running under Pulse as the primary, the ISY saw the devices and could control them... the two hubs just didn't know about one or another. I could be wrong... but close. September 18, 20178 yr I had an ADT Pulse system -- long gone -- but still have two of their ZWave thermostats, RCS Technologies TZ45a units. Does anyone know how to get them to "forget" the Pulse controller so I can add them to my UDI ISY994iZ?

September 25, 20178 yr You should go through the exclude process and then include. I don't have the ADT pulse gear anymore. How could I exclude them? Thanks,
September 26, 20178 yr Hi manowell, If listed in the device tree, then right mouse click | Z-Wave | Remove failed node. With kind regards, Michel
