thewisteron Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Brand new to the ISY world. I just got the 994i ZW. Plugged it in, connected ethernet to Xfinity modem, connected RJ45 to PowerLinc Modem interface to try an Insteon switch, and fired up the admin console. I enter the user/pass and it recognizes the device but after about one second, the console closes. I've been able to quickly get the IP in the About section, and I can successfully connect to the web interface. However, I can't link any devices because the admin console closes so quickly. The only antivirus I have is Avast, and I have turned it off completely along with Windows Firewall. I am running Win10. Any suggestions?

How are you accessing the console? Via web browser or have you downloaded the JNLP application and have an icon on the desktop? Do you know what firmware version you have on the 994 and do you know if the admin console is the same version? -Xathros
Michel Kohanim Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Hello the wisetron, Do you happen to have AVG or AVAST? If so, please take a look at: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Configuring_a_Firewall_for_Your_ISY With kind regards, Michel
thewisteron Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 I've tried via web browser and JNLP. Now it closes so quickly I can't even see the firmware version. I've disabled Avast.
Michel Kohanim Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Hi thewisteron, Disabling AVAST will not help (the packet filters are still there). Try: 1. http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/admin.jnlp 2. Cancel out of Admin Console 3. In ISY Finder (behind Admin Console) click on the Add Button 4. Enter https://whatever-your-isy-ip-address-is(note: https and not http) 5. Close Admin Console 6. Restart the Admin Console (icon on your desktop) and then choose the https address With kind regards, Michel
