ricke Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Hi I have a 994i Pro and its been on heavy duty managing my Christmas lights over the last month turning them on and off based on sunset/sunrise. But I noticed that recently several of my outlets don't seem to be getting the Off command. I am using a Program and a Scene to normally control this and for example when I get up in the morning and see the outdoor lights are still on I can go to the Program in the admin console and manually run the Then condition which turns off the scene and that turns the lights off OK. The 994i console does show that the OutletLinc and Outlet plugin modules (outdoors) are showing their status as changing from On to Off but the power doesn't go off. Using the manual button on the outletlinc also works. I'm wondering if I need to do a refresh programming of all of my outlets to see if that clears it up. Its been a while since I've done that, what's the technique to refresh the programming of all my INSTEON devices? Or if there is a better way to troubleshoot repair I can try that instead. paulbates Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Hi Rick Having trouble with OFF messages being acknowledged is a potential sign that the load is introducing noise to the line once its turned on. I have 3 outletlincs outside for yard and Christmas lights. I've found that low voltage lighting transformers are problematic and create noise once they are turned on. I have a filter plugged into an outletlinc and the low voltage landscape lights in to that in one location for that reason. Restoring individual devices won't hurt, but you may want to try filtering or temporarily unplugging things like low voltage lighting transformers or LEDs and see if that changes anything. (You reprogram the devices by right clicking and Restore device. ) I recommend restoring and triaging the things that don't work, rather than restoring everything. Paul
Techman Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 rick, run a diagnostics / compare on the modules that aren't turning off. If the results show a link mismatch then do a device restore on that module. It's also possible that once the modules are on one of the loads is creating noise on the power line preventing the module from turning off.
